Benue to partner German firm on biogas production.

Governor Samuel Ortom says Benue State is partnering with Germany-based Kugle Farms on production of biogas as an alternative source of energy.

Ortom, who made the disclosure yesterday while receiving the Germans, Joseph and Patricia Kugle, in Makurdi, noted that cattle ranching would provide Nigeria with animal dung, grasses and other wastes for biogas production. He commended the Catholic Bishop of Makurdi, Most Rev Wilfred Anagbe, for facilitating the partnership.

He, therefore, directed the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Dennis Ityavyar, to work out the modalities with the German firm, hinting that he may lead the state’s delegation to the European country on a facility tour.

Earlier, Anagbe, who led the foreigners to the governor, said he had worked in Joseph’s farm in Germany and affirmed that he produces the product for energy generation.
