Dogara meets President Buhari again!

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, on Friday visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja. The speaker and the president met behind closed doors for few minutes.

It was Dogara's second visit to the president since he (the speaker) was accused of padding the 2016 budget by a former chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin.

Rising from today's meeting with the president, Dogara declined to speak to State House correspondents.

Our correspondent reports that the meeting was also attended by the Minister of Education Adamu Adamu, as well as Senators Abubakar Tugga and Sulaiman Nasif, all of whom are from Dogara's home state of Bauchi.
The speaker said he was on holiday and would not talk to journalists.

"I am on holiday. Let me enjoy my holiday. I came to see the president with my brothers. When the House reconvene, you can ask me all the questions, please," he said.
Dogara had, a fortnight ago, told journalists that he had never heard of budget padding being an offence under any law.

The speaker had also vowed that he would not resign over the allegations.
