Dogara refuses to go to antigraft agency but insists that ''No fund was misappropriated, stolen or missing in the 2016 budget'.
Dogara made this known in a statement issued at Abuja, the federal capital territory through his special adviser on media and public affairs, Turaki Hassan.
The statement revealed there was no single case of corruption by Dogara during and after the preparation of the 2016 budget. The statement re-echoed what the Speaker had earlier said, by advising Nigerians to be watchful with respect to the implementation of the 2016 budget “to ensure that they are not short-changed.”
Dogara’s media aide informed Nigerians that the Speaker had dismissed the allegations against him by Hon Abdulmumin Jibrin, in which it described as false and baseless. “They are fictional and scandalous, untruths and falsehoods which will be dealt with at the appropriate time.
“I wish to appeal to the public for patience as the truth which will vindicate the innocent in this unfortunate saga will unfold sooner than later.” The statement in addition re-echoed Dogara’s position on the budget padding controversy.
