I’m committed to Edo project plan— Obaseki

THE governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has expressed total commitment to the Edo project plan which was started seven and half years ago by the Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s led government, saying that he is committed to the Edo project.

Meanwhile, Mr Thompson Osadolor, KOWA Governorship candidate, says the governorship candidate of the PDP, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is not an option to succeed Adams Oshiomhole as Governor of Edo, saying that the PDP candidate was part of those who ruined the state in the ten years reign of the PDP.

Obaseki who is the chairman of the Economic and Strategic Team of the Oshiomhole administration, spoke when he visited the palace of the Onojie of Ekpoma, His Royal Highness, Anthony Ehizojie Abumere II, with his running mate, Hon. Philip Shuaibu in company of Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

He said:“I am here to seek your royal blessings to enable me have a successful campaign in Esan West and to reassure you of my commitment to the Edo project. After seven and a half years we are aware of the challenges we face and I have been part and parcel of this administration.

“I understand the issues and what we have done and what is left undone. We also understand the fact that what we need to do is much more than what we have done. Ekpoma is a fast growing town in the State, we know the challenges facing it and we will tackle it head on”.

Obaseki who listed the government’s achievements in the area said there are lot more to be done noting that, “The infrastructural housing need of this town is what we must address very quickly. We have built some schools both primary and secondary schools and we shall build more.”

While responding the Onojie of Ekpoma described the All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate, Mr Godwin Obaseki as the best suitable to rule Edo State assuring him of the support.

He thanked the governor for his support to the community and urged him, the APC candidate and his running mate not to be moved by the watery tantrum of the opposition.

On the other hand, the KOWA governorship candidate, Osadolor, who expressed his determination to win the forthcoming election asserted that “Ize-Iyamu says he is a rebranded man, whether he is going to work for his people or those who are supporting him, remains best known to him.

“But as for me, it is going to be difficult because you cannot extricate yourself from those who you have been part and parcel of for decades that looted Edo state. He was part of Lucky Igbinedion’s administration as his Chief of staff as well as Secretary to the state Government under the same man.

“Yet again, the same Ize-Iyamu is being supported and under the sponsorship of the same Lucky and other persons in PDP who ruined the state.

“Oshiomhole has done well but I, as the candidate of KOWA party, remained the best to take over from where he stopped,” he posited. While assuring that his government would be hinged on human capital development, Osadolor said he would lay a solid foundation for successive government of the state.

“I have tasted life in several of the advanced countries of the world and as such, I know better what good governance is. The people are yearning for good governance and I will replicate what here, what is obtainable in outside the country. I am not going to do magic, but will build a legacy which every. Successive government will meet and build upon”.
