Renowned Abuja/Benue Broadcaster King Yiye debuts Online Radio ,ASKiNG RADiO,98.5 SPEED FM.



ASKiNG RADiO 98.5 SPEED FM is a Family Online Radio activated since April 2016 by ASKiNG Media Limited; registered in Nigeria since 2009 under the Companies and Allied Matters Act 1990.
Speed Fm  is a radio station mainly 80's Disco, Pop and Funk but generally 6 GENERATIONS of MUzik; 50's 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's and todays music.
 Always cooKiNG hot from their studios in Abuja and Makurdi to listeners all over the world...blended with TaLK programmes like eXTRA SPEED, SPEEDy TALK etc.

KiNG JAMES YiYE,is a Radio Personality by nature, a Benue State University Makurdi graduate and BBC, as well as Radio Netherlands trained Broadcast Journalist, a Producer and Journalism Trainer.
 Born on May 15, 1976 in Maiduguri Borno State to Late Prince Samuel Yiye and Late Mrs. Regina Ngufan Yiye, King James Yiye is presently  working as a Radio and Online Journalist for Radio Netherlands Worldwide with headquarters in Hilversum, The Netherlands.

The King as he is often called is also the Executive Director of ASKiNG Media Limited, where he runs media consultancy services and syndicates programmes on seven radio stations across six states in Nigeria, he produces and presents NAFDAC Number on six radio stations across Nigeria.

Having worked with the BBC World Service Trust Nigeria now BBC Media Action since 2006 as a Producer and Journalism Trainer, the King worked on the BBC’s Radio and TV Debate “Talk Talk” and has trained hundreds of broadcast journalists across the country on interactive radio production techniques in reporting corruption and constitutional reform, reproductive health and good governance.

King James has also trained Mass Communications lecturers on ‘Practical Radio Production Techniques’ at the University of Lagos and University of Uyo.

King James has consulted for YozuMannion of the United Kingdom on the inception phase of (Partnerships for Transforming Health Systems in Nigeria); PATHS’ Assessment and Development of Communications Strategies and Plans for the Federal and States Ministries of Health in four lead states in Nigeria.
He is also consulting for the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control NAFDAC.

King started professional broadcasting as a talent hunt host with Aso Radio 93.5 FM Abuja Nigeria in June, 1999.

His popularity grew fast not only because Aso Radio was received in over eighteen states (18) across Nigeria but largely because of his confidence on the microphone, innovative ideas into programming and his baritone. While at Aso Radio, he was both a news caster and reporter as well as Outside Broadcast Commentator and Producer.

He had a brief work experience at the Nigeria Television Authority NTA Channel 5 Abuja as trainee producer and practiced as a Public Relations Officer at Cabana Resource Limited Abuja.

King James was later discovered by a new private Radio station Zuma 88.5 FM Suleja near Abuja. He was hired to develop and produce programmes for the station and later train new people that were contracted to join the station. These jobs he did between December 2005 and March 2006.

At the BBC World Service Trust Nigeria, he has produced “Talk Talk’’ which is broadcast locally and on the BBC World Service and also the Youth Programme “Flava”. King James also wrote one of the best episodes of the BBC TV drama, “Wetin Dey”

Awards and Achievements
KiNG JAMES is winner Africast Programmes Competition Award 2006 as Best Radio Discussion Programme (Africa) for ’’Talk Talk”

He is also winner Africast Programmes Competition Award 2008 as Best Radio Producer (Africa) for ’’Talk Talk” and Best Discussion Programme (Africa) “Talk Talk”

King James was also awarded the Most Diligent Vice President Mass Comm Students Association, Benue State University Makurdi in 1998.

He is also the First Editor Periscope Magazine, a publication of St. Peter’s Secondary School Vandeikya, Benue State in 1995 and first President St. Peter’s Press Club.
