Vigor International Leadership Award.

This award is reserved only for international leaders who have demonstrated achievement in their capacity as exceptional leaders showing through vision and wisdom in achieving the greatest good to those whom they serve. Our "Distinguished International Leadership Award Recipient” for 2016 has demonstrated just that.

We have followed have carefully followed his illustrious career in Nigerian politics. He rose to the office of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from very humble beginnings. His exemplary leadership skills in governance are well-noted especially in the peaceful and humble way in which He handed over power to a newly elected president, Muhammed Buhari.

His decision and action in that instance showed to the entire world His character and commitment to peace and democracy in Africa.

Very few expected that He would make such a decision which has indelibly imprinted His name in the annals of Nigerian history as a sitting president who willingly relinquished power to his opponent, an action that has endeared him to the hearts of many in the world.

Such a monumental step, prevented what could have been a very bloody civil war in Africa’s most populous country. We wish to use this opportunity to commend him for such a wise step..
