Benue yet to get money from FG —COMMISSIONER

Benue State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. David Olofu, has said the state was yet to receive any kobo from the Federal Government as refund of money over-deducted from the state governments from 1995 to 2002 to settle Paris Club debt. Olofu made the clarification at the end of the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Samuel Ortom, following reports that the state had received some money. Ortom 

The Finance Commissioner, who jointly briefed newsmen with the Commissioner of Information and Orientation, Chief Ode Ageh, explained that although the Federal Government had agreed to repay 25 percent of the $181 million due to Benue, it was yet to release the money. He enjoined the people to disregard reports being peddled in both the conventional and social media, assuring that as soon as the money got in, they would be informed. He also said the money would be judiciously applied for the benefit of all.
