INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY | My administration will to evolve policies and actions to encourage women of the state to meet their aspirations- Gov Samuel Ortom

Benue state governor Samuel Ortom has reiterated his administration's commitment to evolve polices and actions that will encourage women of the state to meet their aspirations. He stated this in a message to women to  mark the International Women's Day today,

In a release signed by his Chief Press Secretary ,Mr Terver Akase,Governor Ortom acknowledged the significant role Benue women have played over the decades in building their families and the state in general, giving assurance that the State Government under him will create greater opportunities for women to excel.

He says in line with one of the pillars of his administration's blueprint which is on Gender, Women, Youth, Children and Persons with Disabilities, women have been given additional positions in government to enhance their contribution to the development of the state.

He also  identifies with United Nations position that this year's International Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played extraordinary roles in the history of their countries and communities.

He describes as feasible, the theme of the 2017 International Women's Day which is "Women in the Changing World of Work: Planet 50-50 by 2030".
He  congratulates every Benue woman on the significant day and prays God to bless the mothers and daughters of the state.
