Corruption: Court remands ex-Governor Babangida Aliyu in prison



Former governor of Niger State, Babangida Aliyu, who was on Tuesday docked by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on corruption charges, has been remanded in prison custody until May 4.Mr. Aliyu was docked on a six-count charge bordering on fraud.

Justice Mohammed Mayaki of the Niger State High Court also ordered that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2015 election, Umar Nasko, be also remanded in prison.

The EFCC filed six-count charge bothering on fraud and abuse of office against Dr. Aliyu at the state High Court.
