Suspended SGF Babachir Lawal to appear before Senate Adhoc Committee
The suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawal, who was found culpable for his alleged role in a grass-cutting N200 million contract in the Northeast, will appear before Senate Adhoc Committee on Thursday.
Mr. Lawal will appear before the committee to defend himself against the allegations that his company got a N200 million grass-cutting contract from an establishment under the supervision of his office, the Presidential Initiative on the North East, to clear “invasive plant species” in Yobe State.
Mr. Lawal had earlier been indicted of the same crime by the Senate, but the lawmakers had to summon him again after his suspension by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Recall that Mr. Lawal had shunned the previous summon by the senate.
