Paris Club: Osun receives N6.3bn refund from FG ―Commissioner

OSUN State government on Monday night confirmed the receipt of third tranche of Paris Club refund, amounting to N6.3 billion from the federal government.

This disclosure was made by the state Commissioner for finance, Mr Bola Oyebamiji.

He explained that the apportionment committee, constituted by Governor RaufAregbesola, which is headed by the renown labour icon, Hassan Sumonu will deliberate over the fund and make necessary decision on how the money will be disbursed as it is usual.

According to Oyebamiji, the committee will act quickly to ensure judicious utilisation of the fund for the benefit of the entire people of the state.

Commenting on the development, the State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Adelani Baderinwa said the availability of the fund at this time was God’s doing, saying “God has always been making things possible when it seems there was not going to be anyway.”

According to him, “God has eased off financial problem which seems intractable by his miracle of the arrival of the Paris Clubrefund”, stressing that “civil servants and the general people of the state will experience a financial ease of life when the N6.3billion is disbursed for the benefit of all.”
  1. Baderinwa lauded the active and non-active public servants for their cooperation and support to the government since the country plunged into financial crisis, just as urged them not to relent in this virtuous behaviour that has made the progress and development of the state as stakeholders.
