I will not permit the operation of a strip club at Balcony Parks and Gardens again - Chief Aperashi .

The management of Balcony Park has made a u turn on  the idea of operating a strip club at the recreational centre in Makurdi,Benue State.

Recall in our report that the management had concluded plans to open a strip club at an event center  where activities like Lap dances, pole dances, strip games and other activities will be happening, after series of mixed reactions from Benue people, the Managing Director of the recreational place, Chief John Akperashi issued a press statement ,making a u turn on the proposed club ...Please his statement below.

IN GENIUE RESPONSE TO THE CONCERNS OF SOME GOOD PEOPLE OF BENUE STATE, I ASSURE THAT THERE WILL BE NO STRIP CLUB AT BALCONY.

I have received calls over the past few days from some well meaning individuals and groups within and outside of Benue State drawing my attention to an advertisement running on the social media which proposes the soon-to-start operation of a strip club at Balcony Park and Garden.
I regret it deeply that this took place by my Social Affairs Manager while I was busy with pursuit of other objectives away from my business, and do assure that as a conscientious citizen, desirous at all times of the good and progress of our society, after a conscious review of this proposed exercise, I have resolved as the Chairman/Chief Executive of this establishment not to permit the operation of such a club at Balcony.
Balcony Park and Garden is my private business concern rendering hospitality and entertainment services on a varied range, but I am equally mindful of the corporate social responsibility the business owes to its host community, and this does not include the promotion of social engagements alien to our society and its culture.

I hereby assure all that the proposed operation of such a club is shelved off and there shall not be a strip club at Balcony Park and Garden, Makurdi now or in the near future.
While commending my Social Affairs Manager for his initiative of stepping up social activities and sustained patronage of my business outfit, I wish to add, nevertheless, that this decision I have taken is in response to the views and concerns expressed by well meaning people as to the potential negative impact of such a club on our community, which I am equally conscious of.

Be assured of my continued best intents and determination at all times, especially in supporting and promoting both social, cultural and entertainment business generally in our state as Balcony is known for.

Thank you all.
Signed:
Chief John Akperashi Gum,
(Ikpamkor-i-Kwande)
Chairman/CEO, Balcony Park and Garden.
