Court finds Charles Taylor guilty of war crimes

The Hague’s International court, Sierra Leone has delivered its verdict on Liberian ex-president Charles Taylor, finding him guilty of the war crimes charge.
The three judges at the court pronounced him guilty of aiding and abetting 11 counts of war crimes or crimes against humanity.
But he was acquitted of criminal responsibility and “joint enterpise” on the same 11 charges. His sentence will not be delivered for several months.
Taylor is also the first African head of state to be found guilty by an international tribunal.
