Benue State Governor's Personal Assistant Slumps And Dies During Meeting In Government House.
The personal assistant to Benue State governor Gabriel Suswam on security, Mr Patrick Gwar, yesterday slumped and died while attending a meeting in Government House, Makurdi.
Gwar had gone to Government House to attend the meeting of a forum of the governor’s aides, preparatory to the endorsement of the governor to contest for Senate in 2015. The event of the endorsement is scheduled for Saturday at Katsina-Ala town.
LEADERSHIP Friday gathered that the incident happened about 4 pm when the now deceased aide started feeling uneasy and wanted to take a rest in the waiting room. It was gathered that he started sweating before he finally gave up the ghost.
Gwar died in an office near the office of the chief of staff to the governor, Prof. Saint Gbilekaa, who quickly directed that the body be taken to the mortuary.
The chairman of the forum, Comrade Samuel Adzegeh, confirmed the incident to newsmen and described it as very unfortunate. He said the aide was a dedicated servant and someone who was committed to duties
