Tiv/Fulani Crisis-Alhaji Dahiru Shuaibu ''Alhaji Dash'' Denies Arrest.

Chairman of the Hausa Forum in Makurdi, Benue State, Alhaji Dahiru Shuaibu, yesterday said he was never arrested in connection with the crisis in parts of the state, urging the police and other security agencies to arrest those behind the rumour.

Dahiru, a popular businessman in Makurdi known as “Alhaji Dash” was said to have been arrested by security operatives, following the alleged discovery of bombs, guns, bullets and other items in his possession.
At a press conference yesterday in Makurdi, he said: “I am disturbed to hear this unfounded, false, malicious and trump up allegation against me. The rumour which started as a child’s play assumed a worrying dimension when telephone calls, text messages and visits to my business places by friends and family became unbearable. I tried to trace the possible sources of the rumour but could not. I later learnt that the information was trending on Face book,” he said.
He assured the government and people of the state of his unflinching commitment to ensure that peace is restored to troubled areas.
