Former speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr. Terhemen Tarzoor, over the weekend when he visited the State Working Committee of the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP) in Makurdi, declared his intention to contest the 2015 gubernatorial election in the state.

He told the leadership of the party that he joined the race for the governorship position because he is fully aware of its imperatives and demands.

“I have gone through all the political tutelage there is. I have garnered enough the experience in governance and I am now ready and prepared to offer myself for qualitative and selfless service to the people of Benue in order to build on the monumental achievements of the present administration.

“Therefore my presence here is intended to formally declare before the leadership of our great party my intention and aspiration to run in the 2015 governorship race, and by the grace of God, come out victorious.”

In his response, the acting Chairman of the Party, Mr. Joe Nyam, who led other State Working Committee members to receive the entourage, assured them that the party would avail all aspirants on the platform of the party a level playing field to propagate their aspirations.
