Chief James Ibori Wants Delta State Assembly Slot Given To His DaughterErhitake Ibori .
Those aspiring for the Delta State House of Assembly seat for the Ethiope West constituency may have to have a rethink if information reaching us is anything to go by.
Strong indications have emerged that Chief James Ibori may have perfected plans to secure the position for his daughter, Barrister Erhitake Ibori.
Dependable sources said Chief Ibori has directed those aspiring for the position to shelve their aspiration and give the needed support to his daughter who is nursing the ambition of representing the constituency at the House of Assembly.
It was learnt that he has also prevailed on stakeholders and party leaders in the constituency, to work assiduously to give the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) to his daughter.
“Ibori argued that since Ethiope West Local Government Area has the council Chairmanship position, the Delta State House of Assembly seat and the Ethiope Federal constituency position to contest for in 2015, the House of Assembly slot should be given to his daughter Erhitake”,
Meanwhile, a PDP chieftain in the area who confirmed the development said some of the party leaders have agreed to carry out Ibori’s instructions and give their support to his daughter while others are saying that they will give their support to her if she is willing to vie for the local government chairmanship position.
Those saying she should run for Chairmanship, according to the PDP chieftain who does not want his name in print, are hinging their argument on the fact that the House of Assembly requires somebody who has been in the legislative arm before “since the position of the Speaker of the House may likely be zoned to Delta Central where Ethiope West may likely take it with the political calculations at the moment”.
