PDP North East Senatorial District Approves Suswam For Senate.

Elders, traditional institutions and political stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue north-east senatorial district formally approved Governor Gabriel Suswam's desire to run for a seat in the senate come 2015.

A traditional ceremony of the official endorsement of Suswam was performed at the ACC playground in Kwande local government area of the state on Friday.

Governor Suswam has formally declared his intention to contest the senate seat against the incumbent, Senator Barnabas Gemade who is seeking a second term.

The Ter Kwande, Chief Hilary Ikima and his Ushongo counterpart, Chief Ambrose Iortyer anchored the occasion and symbolically washed the governor's feet to imply good fortune and finally released about 12 white doves in the air to mark their vowed commitment to the project.

Speaking during the endorsement, Chief Shuluwa said their request became imperative because Governor Suswam has demonstrated qualities of a development-driven leader and needed to be sent to the National Assembly to enhance rapid progress for the people of the area.
