Senator Joshua Dariye Set To Dump LP And Return To PDP.

Senator Joshua Dariye Former governor of Plateau State, Senator Joshua Dariye has sent a notification of intention to join the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Dariye who served as Plateau governor between 1999 to 2007 had been a chieftain of the PDP in the state but was compelled to leave the party following travails believed to have been sponsored by the then national leader of the party which led to his removal as governor.
He contested and won the Senate seat in 2011 on the platform of the Labour Party but has been trying to move to the PDP since the LP lost the governorship election in the state.
His current action is believed to be a strategy by the senator to contest for the ticket of the party in the Plateau Central senatorial zone since the LP on which platform he went to the Senate is no longer active in the state.
Dariye in the letter addressed to the Plateau State PDP chairman entitled “Notification of my intention to join PDP”, said his decision to dump the LP which brought him to the Senate was because he was a founding member of the PDP.
The letter reads: “It is with great pleasure that I write to notify you of my intention to return to the PDP, which the party I was a founding member of.
“I shall continue to count on your usual understanding and support while assuring you of my continuous loyalty at all times.”
The letter was routed through the chairman of the PDP in his Mushere ward, through the PDP chairman of Bokkos Local government and the PDP chairman of Pankshin zone of the party.
Sources at the PDP secretariat in Abuja said the national chairman, Alhaji Ahmadu Adamu Mu’azu, who served as governor of Bauchi State during the same period with Dariye is helping to facilitate the return of Dariye to the PDP.
