Gov Suswam Allays Fears Of Ebola Outbreak|Meanwhile Thousands Of Bats Hover Around Government House Makurdi.

Have you ever been to Government House Makurdi in the evening and morning?,you need to do so to see how thousands of Bats live in there. These bats have been occupying a place in GHM even before Aper Aku became governor. I use to see these Bats when i was working in Govt House makurdi, they come out in thousands around 6pm and return back early hours of the money, usually scary.

With what WHO has said about Ebola and Bats, hmmm we are in trouble.Remember also that Benue has plenty Bats because of cultivation of Mango and other fruits.

Anyway, the Governor of the state Dr Gabriel Suswam, has assured his people that the state government was taking precautionary measures to ensure there is no outbreak of the disease in the state.

Suswam, spoke newsmen yesterday and informed them that the state Ministry of Health has sent doctors to the Federal Ministry of Health in Abuja to get the kits in case of any outbreak in the state.

While appealing to the people of the state to be calm and go about their normal activities without fear, the governor said even though the disease is highly contagious, it is not airborne and could not be contacted unless one came in direct contact with an infected person.

Reminded that there are thousands of bats daily hovering over the Government House in Makurdi, Governor Suswam said the bats had been there even before the state was created and had not caused any problem.

“The bats have been here before Aper Aku became governor and we have not had any case of Ebola in the state. Even those who eat bats, so long as they cook it well, I don’t think it can cause any problem for them,” he said.
