The banquet hall of the River Plate Garden, Wuse II, Abuja came alive on Monday February 23 with the presence of disciples of the Greater Benue Project as the Benue PDP Guber candidate, Rt Hon Prince Terhemen Tarzoor stormed the capital city to interact with them. The event, which started around 7pm in a jampacked hall was a gay and lively affair with the crème dela crème of the Benue community resident in Abuja in attendance.
From the academia, to the media, civil service to the military, Benue sons and daughters trooped out in their numbers to interact with their incoming governor, Rt Hon Prince Terhemen Tarzoor. Compeered by Dr Cletus Akwaya, the Special Adviser Media (to the Executive State Governor) and Director Media & Publicity of the Campaign Organization, the event saw several goodwill speeches given by different Benue sons & daughters. Even the apolitical were not left out. The Campaign DG, Prof (Amb) Iorwuese Hagher, when it was his time to speak, took his time to introduce RT Hon Terhemen Tarzoor to his brothers and sisters living in Abuja. Prof Hagher told them he was giving Benue a highly educated, visionary and dynamic young man whose drive and ambition will take Benue to the next level. He told the crowd he had brought them a bachelors (BSc) degree holder in Economics, a Masters degree holder in business administration (MBA), a masters degree holder in Monetary Economics, same man who had just defended his PhD thesis in developmental economics from Benue State University. When Rt Hon Prince Terhemen Tarzoor mounted the podium, it was close to 9pm. He did, to thunderous applause as he began to speak extempore, without any notes, without any prepared speech. He outlined his vision and mission for Benue and launched into the inner workings of his strategic intent. Tarzoor told the crowd his vision was a strategic road map for the rapid development of the State from May 29, 2015. He let the people know that while all sectors are critical to economic growth and development, his vision is hinged on 5 key areas namely Health, Education, Agriculture, Pension matters and Tourism with a proviso that Traditional institutions and sports would also be catered for.
