(For The Love Of BUHARI) Update On The Guy Who Promised To Trek To Abuja From Lagos If Gen Buhari Wins The Polls.

This guy is heading for a record breaking stunt.Hasheem Suleimanis a native of Katsina state who promised to trek from Lagos to Abuja if General Muhammadu Buhari won the presidential poll. Well he has kept his promise and has been on a 13 days trek from Lagos.

It has been reported by Daily Trust that an Abuja businessman has paid N550,000 to cover one week’s accommodation and food for Suleman Hasheem at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja ahead of his arrival. He arrived at Lapai in Niger state and is expected to proceed to Lambata town en route to Abuja today.

The journey hasn't been smooth, on the first day, Hasheem left Lagos at about 5am and arrived in Ibadan around 6pm. The journey is long and hot and according to Google maps, it is over 700km. Despite several warnings from friends, and at the same time encouraged by friends and loved ones, he continued from Ibadan to Oyo.

Then from Oyo to Ogbomoso. And from Ogbomoso to Ilorin with much welcome at every stop. He lodged at the Lapai palace and had to pass two nights there to treat injuries to his legs caused by the long trek from Lagos. At Ilorin, people escorted him for several miles until he stopped at Oloru.

He received much hospitality in Jebba, where unlike in other villages he met people who had heard of him. About 20 people set off with him from Jebba and after some miles 18 turned back, but the other two were more strong-minded.
They encountered armed robbers close to Makwa, although fortunately he had already met one of them in Jebba, and the would-be robber ended up giving him 200 Naira for pure water. Hasheem doesn’t know for sure if Buhari knows of him but several of his support organizations do. He intends to reach Abuja by May 27, and celebrate with the new president at his inauguration ceremony.

When asked why he had embarked on such a mission, Suleiman said he wanted to fulfil a promise he made two years ago.

“I made the promise for this mission to show my love for the leader of the masses, General Muhammadu Buhari, and for the 13-day journey I have embarked upon, I have condemned five pairs of canvass shoes.”

“I made adequate financial provisions for cross-country trek, but since my journey started, I haven’t spent anything from the money since I’ve been warmly welcomed in every town or village I’ve had passed”, he added.
Hasheem, who is on a record breaking mission, is, however, not aware if Buhari knows of him but with his mission aimed at getting to Abuja before May 29 to celebrate with the new president at his inauguration ceremony, there are high chances of Hasheem meeting with the president-elect.
