Finally ,Gov Ortom Gives His 100 Days Scorecard In Benue State.

 Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has listed the achievements of his administration in the first 100 days.He made the disclosure at a Stakeholders Forum held at the New Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House, in Makurdi.

He stated that in spite of the financial challenges his administration met on ground, he was able to hit the ground running with payment of accreditation requirements of the College of Health Sciences and Benue State University, BSU, Teaching Hospital which the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria granted after 12 years.

Governor Ortom also listed the on-going rehabilitation of the School of Nursing and Midwifery for re-accreditation, reopening of the Benue State University, successful prosecution of an amnesty program, as well as the restoration of water supply in Otukpo and Katsina-Ala towns.
He said 700 people embraced the amnesty program and surrendered 400 assorted arms with thousands of live ammunition.
Others, according to him, are the payment of N93 and N20 million respectively as counterpart founding for UNICEF and IFAD programs, purchase of a new transmitter for Radio Benue as well as payment of N20 million compensation for Daar Communications to establish radio and television stations under a public private sector partnership arrangement.

He said his administration also restored peace between herders and farmers and also depened interstate relationship with neighboring Taraba State.
According to him his administration has set aside money for the completion of the Assembly Complex, resumption of work at the Daudu-Gbajimba road, as well as construction of a laboratory at the Akperan Orshi College of Agriculture, Yandev, and provision of equipment there.

Governor Ortom noted that it would not have been possible to accomplish the foregoing without the support and patience of the people of Benue State and appreciated the confidence Benue People have reposed in his administration.

He unveiled the blueprint of his administration at the occasion.
“Our development blueprint, ‘Our Collective Vision For A New Benue’ has been unveiled so that all of you can make inputs into its transformation into a viable working document,” the Governor added.
Several dignitaries including Senators Barnabas Gemade and George Akume, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Terkimbi Ikyange, former Deputy Governor, Chief Steve Lawani, and General Lawrence Onoja, retired, also spoke at the occasion.
