Ortom Wants To Ask For More Bailout Funds From FGN??????? Choi.

Benue state Governor Samuel Ortom has disclosed that the state government will approach the Federal Government for more bailout funds to enable it pay the huge backlog of salaries and pensions after the 28 billion naira earlier released by the CBN proved inadequate.

The Governor made the disclosure while addressing protesting pensioners at the Government house Makurdi yesterday. According to the Governor the bailout funds earlier accessed by the state government was not enough to pay pensioners and solicited their patience as he will be meeting the President Mohammed Buhari for more bailout loans.
Pensioners in Benue were at the government house while protesting the non payment of their 8 months salary arrears.
The state government has being enmeshed in a crisis with organised labour over the bailout funds provided by the FG as allegations of plans to short change civil servants by the Governor a d his cohorts.
The government has only been able to pay certain categories of staff excluding those who have spent 30 years and above and those who spent less than 3years in service and teachers from the bailout raising suspicion among workers that part of the bailout funds may be embezzled.
