Police Arrest Undergraduates Who Murdered US Returnee And Stole Her Belongings.

Two university undergraduates have been arrested for the murder of a Nigerian woman who returned from the US last November. PUNCH reports that the men – James Okoh and Victor Okefie – ambushed the unsuspecting woman, Stella Uhuo, after she boarded their cab from Enugu to Abakiliki. Okehie and Okoh.

The late Stella Uhuo reportedly had just returned from the US where she went shopping. After she landed at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, she was received by family members. For her scheduled trip to Abakiliki where she was supposed to drop off goods and cash gifts to relatives, she called Okoh to come pick her up at the airport.

She had grown to trust Okoh, who was both a student and a taxi driver. But on that trip in November 2015, Okoh came with his friend Okehie, and they drove off at an intersection and into the bush, where they beat Ms Uhuo to death, taking her dollars, mobile phones and the goods she was meant to deliver.

Then they dumped the body in a garbage bin. PUNCH reports that Okoh was arrested at his hostel in Ebonyi State, while Okehie was trailed to his parents’ home in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. Confirming their arrest, the Spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu said that the suspects claimed they only killed her because she resisted during the ambush. Okehie and Okoh are set to be charged to court. Source: PUNCH
