Neighbour Of Woman Who Killed Her Husband, Children & Herself, Speaks (Pic)

Last week, a man identified as Mr. Nicholas Adetsav was found dead with his wife and children at their home in Vandeikya street in Makurdi, Benue state capital. The man who was a administrative staff of the local government service commission, was said to have been killed by his wife after an undisclosed disagreement.

It was alleged that the wife who went on rampage, damaged the vehicle belonging to her husband before killing her husband and children. The woman also killed herself, according to reports.

Terfa Lord Jirgba, a neighbour who claims to be close friends with the deceased, Nicholas Adetsav and from the same village - took to Facebook to narrate what happened as he said he decided to do so to fill the missing links in the story.

Read below;

Makurdi Murders: My Version as a First Responder!

I was one of the first responders at the scene of the terrible tragedy in Makurdi on the 3rd of Nov., 2018., that claimed an entire household.

Ordinarily, I would not have given any account of what I saw on that day because the case is still under investigation and with the scale and magnitude of the matter, it would only be reasonable to wait for the full report of the investigation, but with the way and manner people are giving all kinds of misrepresentations, I felt the compelling need to explain what I saw and fill some missing links in the story.

The events of the preceding days were actually heartbreaking. And to think that a family of five would just perish like that is particularly nerve-wrenching. This heinous crime took place in our neighborhood at Vandeikya street. I have known this family over the years. Nick Adetsav and I are from the same village and we had happened to be close friends long before he finally got married. It may also interest everyone to note that my younger brother Barr. Joseph Tyeku is the next door neighbour to the ill-fated family.

It's possible for any sound mind to disbelieve the sad event that happened on that tragic day, but the story is as close as the way people are reporting it that the woman did actually kill her husband, 3 kids and herself. The woman truly had had a penchant for violence which the husband did overlook and treated with levity. Fighting had become a daily routine for the couple for whatever reasons that weren't clear. She was also fond of going to prayer houses. The husband had always tried to manage the situation. As a friend and a regular visitor to the house, I had had cause to scold the wife on several occasions.

Let us be reminded that heaping blame on the late wife stems not out of hatred for her but her previous violent ways. Before her death, she had a string of cases all bordering on violence and was standing trial at a magistrate court for stabbing a neighbour with a knife. She was mostly to neighbours.

It is truly unclear what had transpired before this ugly incident, but it is a fact that the deceased husband got home at about 6:30 pm having driven himself from a Friday hangout with friends and was immediately confronted by the wife. They both dragged themselves inside the room as usual and locked the door. The routine fights continued immediately and the nieghbours were alerted as usual. But tension rose only when at about 30 to 40 minutes later the woman came outside the compound and smashed at her husband's car. It became obvious to everyone that all was not well.

My younger brother Tyeku quickly alerted me on phone and I immediately sent D.D. Aernyi's number to him in order for him to report the incident in hopes his intervention will quell the situation because the deceased husband was his P.A. when he had served as caretaker chairman of Gwer-East L.G. and they still seem to maintain a cordial relationship. And it was reasonable to think his intervention will help calm frayed nerves.

But unfortunately D.D. Aernyi was in Abuja and had instructed my brother to call the police immediately of which he did. When the police got there, which coincided with my arrival, they immediately broke in and discovered that the entire members of the household lay lifeless.

Note that this incident did not occur in the dead of night while everybody was asleep, people were very much awake but only did not reckon the magnitude of what was at hand. Everybody was taken unawares.

It's indeed highly pathetic and too tragic for words. And it is a big pity that the watching world which was wide-wake could not help the hapless victims.

Man batters wife, throws her down from two-storey building

A 35-year-old man, Uche Chukwuka, has allegedly battered his wife and afterwards, threw her down a two-storey building.

Chuwuka was arraigned before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday.

Chukwura, who lives at No. 22 Railway Line in Idi-Oro, Mushin, Lagos, was arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on assault.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Godwin Oriabure, earlier told the court that the suspect committed the crime on June 20 at about 7:30p.m at the residence of the accused.

Oriabure said that the accused committed the offence, following a heated argument with his wife, which led to a fight.

The prosecutor said, “The accused beat up his wife and pushed her from a two-storey building, which caused her grievous body harm.”

Oriabure said the offences contravened sections 170 (a) and 173 of the Criminal Law Cap Ch, C17, Vol.3 Laws of Lagos State Nigeria, 2015.

The magistrate, O.S. Aka-Bashorun, however, granted bail to Chukwuka in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum.

Aka-Bashorun said one of the sureties must be a community leader or Eze Ndigbo, whose name must be in the gazette of the Lagos State Government.

The matter was adjourned until August 8 for substantive trial

How Evans derailed and became notorious - Father of Billionaire kidnapper reveals

Mr Stephen Onwuamadike, Evans father.

In the sleepy village of Inyaba in Akamili area of Nnewi town, Anambra State, the arrest of kidnap kingpin, Chukwudi Dumeme Onwuamadike aka Evans has brought shame to his family and kinsmen.

His father, Stephen Onwuamadike, who relocated to the community after his business empire collapsed in 1985 after he was defrauded, battles poverty. The fair-complexioned Onwuamadike told newsmen that since he suffered a reversal of fortune about 32 years ago, he had gone through the pains and agony of suffering without any form of help from anywhere.

The only thing sustaining him for now, he disclosed, is a small poultry business in his compound. Narrating his son’s upbringing to newsmen in his residence tucked behind Immanuel Anglican Church, Evans’ father said he was the youngest millionaire in Nnewi before his business misfortune.

He said people like Innocent Chukwuma (Innoson group) were using their pick-up vans to pick goods from his warehouse located inside his compound, where he was storing motor-spare parts back in the days. “I used to go to Japan, Singapore, Germany, London, Korea among other countries to import generating sets and motorcycle spare parts. I found myself in this condition in 1985 when I was duped by 419ners(fraudsters) from Aba in Port Harcourt.

“I built this house in 1984; by that time, this my son Chukwudi (aka – Evans) was only three years old. I took them to many places to give them the good things of life. The problem of that boy started with his mother in 1986 when I started having problems with her and she was junketing from pillar to post. “Chukwudi my son was enrolled in good schools from nursery to secondary.

I put him in Merchant of Light Boys High school in Oba Before then, he had gone through Summit Nursery School to Nnamdi Azikiwe University Primary School in Awka. I removed him from those schools when I noticed that the mother was visiting him because I did not want her to infect him with bad spirit” He said his wife Chinwe, 50, left his house in 1986 leaving her four children behind, with his mother, Margret Onwuamadike, 78. He explained further that Evans’ mother later came back to his house two years later.
Evans and his family
He said that when his son left Oba Boys Secondary school (Merchant of Light) after two years, he did all he could to persuade him to further his studies to no avail. He said: “My son (Evans) insisted that he would trade in spare parts and I made arrangement with Cosmas Maduka, through his elder brother, to take him to Lagos, but the boy later rejected the plan, not knowing that he was being negatively teleguided. “But in 1998, I left Nnewi for Lagos and I was living at Ikotun and started worshipping at T.B Joshua’s church, Synagogue, and when the boy came to me, I gave him money to go back to Nnewi after he found his way to Lagos where he said he had started learning a trade “So, in 2005 again, he called me that he wanted to marry and I asked him how manage, because I was aware that he was not doing anything tangible, but he told me not to bother, that he needed my presence, which I obliged him.

“Chukwudi Onwuamadike who is being paraded as a kidnapper is my first son; there are other 10 of my children; eight boys and three girls, they were to be 12 but one died. “After his marriage in 2005, he moved back to Lagos with the wife and since 11 years, my brother, I will tell you that I don’t know his whereabouts. “The only person who can tell you in and out of his movement, his connections and his dealings is his mother (Chinwe) because they are always discussing on phone and he does not call me.

“Anytime he wanted to call me, he would hide his phone number or any time his mother would be around, he would instruct his mother to give me her phone for me to answer. “I met him in 2006 when I went for prayers at TB Joshua’s church (in Lagos). the last time I set my eyes on him was in 2012 during the birthday party of Prophet T.B Joshua in Lagos and I asked him what he was doing, he told me he was dealing in drugs. “My son was a nice young man before he came under strange influences.”

However, he said if Evans was released, he would be the happiest father. According to him, “he is still my son, blood is thicker than water. Since I was told about this incident on Monday by some people, I have not been sleeping and I have refused to allow my old mother to know about it because she would die immediately;” Stephen Onwumadike narrated. Also speaking, the Obi of Akamili, 81- year-old Edwin Oduonye, who could not stomach what he called the insult brought on them by their son, slumped on his seat and started crying like a baby. It took the reporter some minutes to calm him down, but he managed to clean his eyes and revealed that the boy was nice when he was growing up.

The old man popularly known as (Nnanyelugo), said his late wife was the younger sister to the wife of the late Onwuamadike. “He was a good boy when he was a child, but I believe that he derailed when he started mixing with bad groups. “This is painful because the boy in question is from my domain and Nnewi at large. Our people are not known for something like this; they are hardworking people. “I have never seen such a thing before, only God can adjudicate on an issue like this.

The present condition has not only put his family in confusion but the entire Nnewi clan. Whether dead or alive, he has brought shame to our people,” Oduonye said. Also, 38-year-old Ezenwa Oduonye, who resides in Guinea, revealed that the arrest of Evans was a shocking news to them. He said when he knew Chukwudi (aka- Evans), he was learning spare parts in Lagos, adding that they had never communicated on phone or seen each other in the last nine years. Another community leader in the village Chinaedum Obanye revealed that what the man did in Lagos was a taboo in Nnewi kingdom. He said the people of Nnewi were not known for things like kidnapping or armed robbery, adding: “Whatever you sow, you shall reap”.

Billionaire kidnapper Evans reveals how his Anambra juju failed him

Billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudemeje George Onwuamadike also known as Evans, has blamed his arrest on his charm which he claimed failed him.
Speaking with newsmen, kidnap kingpin said he was assured by a Chief priest in Anambra State that he would never be apprehended by law enforcement agents.
Evans disclosed that he didn’t know what went wrong with his charm that made it possible for the police to arrest him.

According to Evans, “The native doctor resides in Nnewi, Anambra State.
“He is a traditional ruler. After police busted our Igando hideout, he told me to have no fear. He said nothing would happen. He told me that nobody would be able to catch or arrest me. I believed him. I don’t know what went wrong.”

The 36-year-old father of five was last Saturday arrested in Lagos by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force.
Following his arrest, Evans father, Stephen Onwuamadike had alleged that his estranged wife manipulated Evans into crime.

Police kill Mighty, kingpin of Ishawo invasion in girlfriend’s house

.

MIGHTY, leader of the kidnap gang that invaded Yewa and Ishawo communities of Ikorodu, Lagos, last week, killing four policemen, an Army Captain and two other persons, has died in a shootout with operatives of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team, IGP-IRT, in Ibeshe community, Ikorodu.

The deceased, Endurance Ominisan, popularly known as Mighty, had been in the creeks with other members of his gang since the incident, apparently waiting for the dust to settle before coming out.

He left the creeks at about 6a.m., Sunday, to celebrate Easter with his girlfriend in an apartment he rented for her in Ibeshe area of Ikorodu, unaware that operatives had been stationed at all exit points from the creeks in Ikorodu axis.

Vanguard gathered that operatives of the IGP-IRT, led by the team’s commander, Assistant Commissioner Abba Kyari, swooped on him at about 7.30a.m., while he was relaxing with his girlfriend.

Gun battle

The presence of stern-looking policemen jolted occupants of the building, including Ominisan’s girlfriend. Suspecting that the policemen were there for him, Ominisan went into the roof of the house in a bid to jump to the next building and escape, only to discover that the building was surrounded by policemen.

He reportedly opened fire as he made attempt to jump to the next building, but a bullet from the operatives reportedly hit him.

Vanguard was informed that he was brought down from the roof and rushed to the Ikorodu General Hospital, where he later died.

Confession

Police sources hinted that before he passed out, he confessed to have taken part in several kidnappings in Lagos and Ogun states, among them that of the Oniba of Ibaland, Oba Goriola Oseni, last year, during which two persons died.

The suspect, who hailed from Orogbo, Ondo State, was said to have also revealed on his dying bed that he participated in the January Turkish International School kidnap, where some students and members of staff were abducted.

He further stated that members of the gang that invaded Ishawo last week were still in the creeks, waiting for information on police presence around the axis before coming out.

He reportedly gave the names of those in the creeks as America, Stone, Vika among others. Ominisan, as gathered, breathed his last about seven hours after getting to the hospital.

Girlfriend’s confession

Vanguard gathered that Mighty’s girlfriend, Blessing, who was also whisked away by the operatives, disclosed during interrogation that she had known her late boyfriend for close to two years, adding that they intended to get married between December this year and April next year.

Although police claimed she knew that her late boyfriend was a kidnapper, the Benue State-born Blessing refuted the claims, saying she only knew him as a pipeline vandal.

She added that the major reason why he rented the flat for her was so they can have time together whenever he wanted to visit.

Mighty fired four bullets— Police

The Force Public Relations Officer, Jimoh Moshod, a Chief Superintendent of Police, when contacted, said: “One Turkish-made Fatih 13 Pistol, service number 12TF00126, with four expended bullets and five live ammunition, were recovered. Effort to arrest other members of the gang are in progress.

“It was a five-minute gun battle. He fired four shots at us, before one bullet hit him.

“We arrested his girlfriend, obtained her statement and granted her bail.”

This teenage Boko Haram boy has personally murdered 18 People

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp (NSCDC) on Tuesday paraded a 17-year-old Boko Haram suspect, who admitted killing 18 people since he joined the group three years ago.

The suspect, Ali Mustafa, said he was forced to join the deadly group when Boko Haram terrorists attacked his village in Monguno and left with many boys.

The teenager said he gained skill handling assault rifles, with which he executed his victims.

“I was forced to join Boko Haram about three years ago,” he said.

“Boko Haram insurgents came to our village and forcefully took many of us away. We were kept in the bush camp near Kala Balge and from there we carried out various operations, during which I personally killed 18 persons.

“I can handle all kinds of guns including AK-47 and AA (anti aircraft) rifle.

The boy said his last mission was to go to Maiduguri to spy for his group, as he often did before attacks were carried out. He said he decided to change his mind on the way to Maiduguri.

“I was tired of killing people against my wish, so I told my two other colleagues with whom we were asked to go on a spying mission that we should abandon the mission and run.

“So I came to Maiduguri to search for my parents in the camps. But some IDPs who knew me as member of Boko Haram decided to report me to the security people,” he said.

The teenager, who looked unkempt, said he belonged to the Mamman Nur group of Boko Haram.

He said there were hundreds of young boys like him currently in the bush working for Boko Haram.

The Commandant of NSCDC, Ibrahim Abdullahi, paraded the young boy alongside other nine criminals who were arrested for other offences.

He said the young man had initially denied being a member of Boko Haram.

“But after a thorough interrogation he gave up his denial and confessed to be a Boko Haram member and that he had carried out many execution of innocent persons,” he said..

Fulani Herdsmen not behind killings in Benue – Police Commissioner, Makama

The Benue State Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama, has exonerated Fulani herdsmen from the ongoing killings in Benue State, the nation’s acclaimed food basket.

The police boss warned that no one should rope the herders into the lingering crisis rocking Benue for years now.

DAILY POST reports that the state witnessed another heavy blood bath in Zaki Biam last week after gunmen stormed the community and hacked over 52 persons to death.

Although, no one has claimed responsibility for the gruesome attack, residents believe that the bloody incident was perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen.

Reacting to the claim while speaking on a live programme on AIT, Makama identified ‘criminals’ to be behind the attacks.

He said, “I repeat, the current massacre in Benue State has nothing to do with the Fulani herdsmen. The actors are criminals who are determined to cause terror to the unsuspecting innocent residents of the State.”

Few days ago, Makama had warned Ortom to stop chasing away Fulani herdsmen from Benue State, affirming that the country belongs to everybody, including herders.

I won’t allow you to use Kogi forests, Police Boss Warns Kidnappers

Wilson InalegwuKogi Commissioner of Police, Mr Wilson Inalegwu, has advised kidnappers intending to use Kogi’s forests for their activities to perish the thought.

“We shall not allow any criminal to use the forests; we shall consistently patrol the forests against such elements and shall not rest until we rid Kogi of every bandit,” he said on Wednesday.

Inalegwu spoke at a joint news conference with the State Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mrs. Rosemary Osikoya, on the sidelines of this year’s International Day of Forests in Lokoja.

Inalegwu commended the Kogi government over the recruitment of forest guards, and described it as a critical step that would control the forest reserves, which hitherto had been a safe haven for kidnappers and other criminals.

“Now that we have a joint collaboration between the police force and the ministry of environment, we will work closely with the forest guards to deny these criminals their sanctuary.

“Once this is done, if they kidnapped, they will not be able to hold their victims in the bush, neither will they be able to organise to plan their attacks.

“Let us join hands and deny kidnappers and other criminals the use of our forests to carry out their nefarious activities and launch attacks against innocent travelers,” he said.

The Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mrs. Rosemary Osikoya, on her part, told newsmen that the government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello was committed to effective utilisation of forestry resources for the benefit of all.

She said that efforts to diversify the economy should focus on afforestation much more than subsistence farming, noting that timber was the third highest foreign exchange earner for Nigeria.

“In addition to increasing vegetation, people can make money for themselves by planting quality fruit trees like cashew plantation.

“In Kogi, a lot of our indigenous trees like Iroko and others are dead. Today, we are encouraging everybody to go back and rebuild our forest,” she said.

The International Day of Forests is marked every March 21. This year’s theme is “Forests and Energy”.

Mother and 3 children matcheted to death by suspected ritualists in Lagos.(Graphic photos)

Three children between ages four and nine and their mother have been killed on Masafejo Street, Agbowa, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos by hoodlums suspected to be ritual killers.

According to Punch, assailants invaded the family’s residence around 2am on Wednesday, and inflicted machete cuts on the siblings and their mother.
The victims, whose name had yet to be ascertained, lived in an uncompleted Cherubim and Seraphim Church in the community.

It was gathered that the attention of the police at the Agbowa division was drawn to the incident by members of the church, who had gone for prayer around 5am after the murderers left the scene.
A police source disclosed to Punch that the children were found dead in the church, adding that their mother gave up the ghost in a hospital.
He said,

“The station received a distressed call around 5am that three children were killed and operatives went to the scene. The children were aged between four and nine. They were dead and in a pool of blood, but their mother was still breathing.

She was rushed to a hospital, where she died. The cause of the attack is still a mystery, but the perpetrators will be fished out.”
The source, however, added that the attack might not be unconnected with incidences of ritual killings in Ibeshe and Okegbegun communities in Ikorodu.

“The attack was similar to what happened in Ibeshe community, where some hoodlums gained entrance into houses in the midnight through the windows and attacked their victims,” he added.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, on Wednesday confirmed the incident, saying a manhunt had been launched for the suspects.
Owoseni said it was pre-emptory to tag the attack as ritual killings and promised that the command would intensify security presence in the community and other remote areas in the state.

He said, “Today (Wednesday), between 2am and 3am in Agbowa, we had a case where some hoodlums entered an uncompleted building used as a church and murdered three children. Their mother was also wounded and later died in a hospital.

My attention was drawn to the incident around 5am and a police response team went to the building.

We will ensure that the perpetrators are arrested. It is too hasty to conclude it was ritual killings.”

Graduate who impersonated Bishop Kukah, defrauded Oyedepo, Dantata, others confesses.

A graduate of Political Science, Jehu Kwasu, has narrated how he impersonated the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Bishop Matthew Kukah and defrauded prominent Nigerians of millions of naira.

Kwasu said his victims included Bishop David Oyedepo of Living Faith Church Worldwide, who he claimed gave him N500,000; the Chairman, Honeywell Group, Oba Otudeko, N1m; Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu, N500,000; businessman, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, N2m.

He allegedly collected the sums for Internally Displaced Persons.

He said, “I collected N500,000 from Otudeko, CEO, Honeywell: From Admiral Kanu, I got N500,000. I also got N500,000 from Bishop Oyedepo and N2m from Dantata. I also got money from Gen. Wushishi and others.

“I opened a Guaranty Trust Bank account in Bishop Kukah’s name. I registered a SIM card in my name, but used Bishop Kukah’s picture on my True Caller account, so that when I call, his picture would appear (on the recipient’s phone.)”

Kwasu, who is serving a two-month sentence in the Keffi Prison, admitted on Friday in Abuja that he realised over N5.7m.

Police sources said only N1.7m was found in his bank account, adding that the suspect spent most of the money he made on girls and hard drugs.

It was gathered that Kwasu, the son of late Anglican Bishop, James Kwasu, also exploited his father’s name, to extort money from the Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, when the latter was the Speaker, House of Representatives.

The 25-year old explained that he defrauded his victims by soliciting money on phone to cater to IDPs in the country.

The cleric’s son stated that he obtained a passport with the name, Mathew Hassah Kukah Jehu, and also opened an account with the GTB in the same name.

He said, “I called people on the telephone and told them I was Bishop Kukah. I used his picture on my True Caller account, so that when I called people, they would think he was the one talking with them.

“I also obtained a passport in Bishop Kukah’s name which I used to open an account with GTB. The money I realised was paid into the account and I used an Automated Teller Machine card to withdraw it.”

PUNCH Metro gathered that Kukah was alerted to the scam by some people close to him.

The cleric was said to have petitioned the police, which asked the bank to place a “no debit order” on the account.

Following his inability to withdraw from the account, Kwasu was said to have visited the bank to complain, where he was arrested.

Findings indicate that Kwasu had earlier been arrested and remanded in prison for impersonating Bishop Steven Akobe of the Anglican Diocese of Kabba, Kogi State, but was granted bail.

The police said Kwasu had also attempted to extort money from Senator David Mark, claiming to be Akobe.

“Mark said I should come for some money, so I sent my girlfriend. But she was arrested and I was taken to court and sentenced to two months imprisonment or N9,000 fine,” Kwasu stated.

It was gathered that the suspect, who had two female siblings, sold his deceased parents’ house in Kaduna for N10m and lavished the money on girls and a profligate lifestyle.

The Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Mustafa, stated that Kwasu was arrested by the men of his command, after Kukah complained about his activities.

The CP said, “We received a petition from Bishop Kukah alleging that the boy had been impersonating him and extorting money from prominent people. So, my men went to work and were able to track the suspect and arrest him.  He is a habitual criminal and I would like to advise the public against responding to emails or phone calls from unknown persons requesting financial support for one cause or the other.”

Mustafa also called on the public to report every suspicious phone call and email to the police for investigation.

Arrested pickpocket steals again inside the Police's office during interrogation.

Deji Ayoola, 28, was arrested at Ojodu-Berger over the weekend for pickpocketing a commuter trying to board a commercial vehicle to the Redemption Camp. He had successfully perpetrated the crime before the RRS operatives, who sighted him when he was removing the wallet pursued, arrested him.

During his interrogation at the RRS's headquarters in Alausa, Ayoola stylishly stepped on a N1,200 which fell from a policewoman's pocket while she was removing her cell phone from her pocket. When the money dropped on the floor, rather than draw her attention to the money, he pocketed it. .

Unknown to him, another suspect had seen him when he was hiding the money, and immediately alerted the officer that the money she was looking for was with the Ayoola. He has now been transferred to the State Environmental Task Force on Environment for prosecution....
