Disburse Paris Club refund transparently and stop digressions with unrounded allegations against me -Suswam replies Gov Ortom.

Seems these people have started another chapter of accusations and counter accusations...... So just recently, Benue state Gov,Samuel Ortom accused former Gov Suswam of receiving $24million Paris club refund ,according to Ortom details of the transaction has be traced to UBA PLC,he disclosed this during a church service in Agber on Sunday 11Dec 2016.

Shortly after the news broke out, Dr Suswam swiftly replied Ortom ..read his response below.

ORTOM, DISBURSE PARIS CLUB REFUND TRANSPARENTLY AND STOP DIGRESSIONS WITH UNFOUNDED ALLEGATIONS AGAINST ME.

My attention has been drawn to statements credited to my successor, Gov. Samuel Ortom, of Benue State alleging that my administration received the sum of 24 million United States of America Dollars which could not be accounted for.

The governor I learnt made the statement yesterday during a Thanksgiving Mass and Bazaar at Saint Rita's Quasi Mission, Agber, in Makurdi where he further claimed the monies were traced to a United Bank for Africa (UBA) bank account, but are unaccounted for, and promised that a probe would be launched to find out what happened to it.

I like to state without equivocation that my administration did not receive the sum of 24 million USA Dollars from the Paris Club at any point in time and as such there was not such monies missing or unaccounted for during the entire eight years of my tenure as Governor of Benue State.

It might be helpful to Gov. Ortom to know that under my administration Benue State Government did not operate a domiciliary account with any Bank, as such could not have received any such monies from Paris Club as a foreign organisation.

Similarly, just as it is the practice now when such refunds are announced publicly by the Federal Government, which is the first point of destination for such fund, the same could have applied in the past with the channels of operation in place now being the same that existed then in the past.

I therefore, challenge Gov. Ortom to without fail launch an immediate probe into such allegations and speedily make public findings which back his claims on my receipt of 24 million USA Dollars from Paris Club.

It is curious to note that the Benue State Governor is bringing up this allegation at a time he has received a refund from the Paris Club, the sum of which has become a matter of much controversy, that no one except the governor alone knows how much the state has received.

I urge Gov. Ortom to summon the will to make a departure from the past practice of his administration whereby such funds, as in the case of the N28 billion bailout, are grossly mismanaged and diverted into private pockers, leaving the citizens defrauded and further impoverished.

My resolve and commitment remains at all times for the peace, good and progress of Benue State, and once again I await the outcome of a probe into my tenure as Governor, for the attention of the good people of our state.
