Social Media Week Lagos to showcase female entrepreneurs

Social Media Week Lagos has partnered the Dangote Group and She Leads Africa to run an African Women In Tech Startup Alley at the event, showcasing innovative women-led tech startups.

The African Women in Tech (AWIT) Startup Alley will take place at SMW Lagos on March 1, featuring five selected startups.

“Women make noteworthy contributions to the tech space and all industries for that matter.  Yet, women are often not given the same consideration as their male counterparts,” said Ngozi Odita, co-Founder and executive director of SMW Lagos.

“As an organisation, we believe that continued African progress and sustainable economic development can only be achieved if all citizens are empowered and given the capacity to move Africa forward. This is why SMW Lagos has made it a priority to put forth programming that is inclusive and more gender balanced.”
