Senator Adeleke’s death: Doctor arrested for alleged drug overdose

The doctor who treated late Senator Isiaka Adeleke, has been arrested by the police for interrogation, one of his aides has said.

The aide said the doctor was arrested, after reports emerged that the former Osun governor died as a result of an overdose of medications administered on him.

Although the report of the post mortem has not been made public, the aide said the doctor was arrested on Monday.

The source said, “ The doctor is being held by the police. You know when a thing like this happens and with the controversy surrounding  his death, it is proper for the police to ask him questions.”

Recall that the Senator was said to have complained of pain in his legs, after which his doctor was invited to treat him at home.

The doctor was reported to have injected him, but his condition was said to have worsen.

Many of his supporters have alleged that he may have been poisoned because he was hale and hearty on Saturday during the social functions he attended.
