CGC group signs Air Charter agreement for flights to Makurdi ,Enugu and Lagos to commence in October 2017. PHOTOS
A significant milestone was achieved on 6th September, 2017 with an Air Charter Agreement for a new flight route .This route was created for the economic development of Makurdi Airport Hub.
The existing Airport, which houses the NAF Airbase and has been used for flights will be the Hub,until the PPP Cargo Airport is completed in 2019/2020.
The Air Charter Agreement will develop the following routes: Abuja- Makurdi - Abuja and Abuja- Makurdi- Enugu- Lagos. The flights would be twice daily on the designated routes using one Embraer 145 and one Bombardier CRJ 200 aircraft's..
According to Daniel Tarka a representative of CDC group who confirmed this development to FabmimiBlog, he said this arrangement is in conjunction with FAAN and other agencies, he further stated that the existing Terminal building will be adequately furnished to provide additional security for VIPs and enhance non-aeronautical revenues.
Mr Tarka also disclosed that a PPP with Benue State Government is expected as this will provide some form of Passenger Subsidy to encourage the route development.
