Former First Lady Chief (Mrs) Aisha Eleojo Audu Nee Emeje Joins Kogi State Guber Race-Will Run Against Her Husband Prince Abubakar Audu.
Former Kogi State First Lady, Chief (Mrs.) Aisha Eleojo Audu nee Emeje
Tuesday emerged as the governorship candidate of the Justice Party of
Nigeria in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Kogi State. She won
the primary ticket in a consensus election held at the Lugard Beach
Hotel, Lokoja.
Her candidacy sets her up against her embattled husband and former governor of Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu, who is also seeking the governorship seat but is yet to secure the nomination ticket of any political party.
The party said she was declared winner after a successful and peaceful election witnessed by many party members. She was declared the winner by Mr. Uche Okorafor who represented the Justice Party National Chairman after a unanimous vote of all party delegates present.

A statement from the political party said the election was observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission.
After the election in his closing remarks the Kogi state Justice Party Chairman stated that the party will do its best in reaching out to everyone in the state to ensure victory in the upcoming election as the party today has produced a credible and quality candidate as its flag bearer.

The party also strongly urged INEC to fastidiously keep all records of their activities and to be open, truthful and fair in their work as gatekeepers for the survival of democracy in Nigeria.
It also wants to enjoin INEC to establish processes for a completely transparent and participatory election process that establishes universal suffrage as a basis, without discrimination against gender.

The Justice Party added the choice of its candidate has set in motion for the establishment and entrenchment of an open, transparent, government with accountability and democratic oriented governance.
The party thanked Kogi indigenes for making history by choosing the first female gubernatorial candidate in the state that will ensure that “Kogi State shines as a beacon of light, hope, justice and prosperity.”
