Commercial Sex Workers Hacks Soldier To Death In Bayelsa For Refusing To Pay Her.

There was tension in Bayelsa State on Tuesday after a commercial sex worker allegedly stabbed to death a soldier (names withheld) attached to the Joint Task Force in the Niger Delta code-named ‘Operation Pulo Shield’.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 4:00am at a popular night spot known as Hospital Junction along the DSP Alamieyeseigha Way in Yenagoa. The notorious area, which serves as a major rendezvous for illicit affairs in the state capital, is gradually acquiring the sobriquet, ‘Red Light District’.

Despite its notoriety, the area had not recorded any incident of the sort and took other commercial sex workers and patrons by surprise.

Sources said the randy soldier did not die on the spot but he gave up the ghost on Tuesday afternoon at an undisclosed hospital where he was rushed to for medical attention.

An argument was said to have ensued when the soldier refused to settle the amount they had earlier agreed after the sex romp which lasted throughout the night.

Infuriated by the soldier’s refusal to pay, the prostitute, who, it was learnt, hails from Edo State, allegedly stabbed him twice in the stomach and part of his intestines gushed out.

“We were surprised and many people escaped to avoid arrest when it happened,” an eyewitness said.“We heard argument coming from the prostitute’s room and the next thing we saw was the soldier struggling with blood flowing from the wound in his stomach”, he added.

The incident, which spread through Yenagoa like the harmattan fire, generated panic among other commercial sex workers and residents of the area.

As at press time, the commercial sex workers and some residents of the area were said to be fleeing to escape the wrath of soldiers who may invade the area.

When contacted, Hilary Opara, Bayelsa State Police Commissioner, confirmed the incident. He, however, explained that the “culprit has been arrested and facing investigation.

The soldier is recuperating in the hospital.”Efforts to get the comment of the spokesman of the JTF, Mustapha Anka, a Lieutenant Colonel, proved abortive as he replied that he was in a meeting.
