Man Machetes Own Mother To Death In Jos.

A 52-year old man, in the early hours of Thursday stormed his mother’s sleeping chambers in the Jenta Mangoro area of Jos in Plateau State, and slaughtered her relatives and other sympathizers have said.

They said Bravo Kunde, who was identified as a staff of Union Bank in Jos, killed his 80 years old mother, identified only as Mama Yakubu, after a restless night suspected to been caused by excessive drug abuse including hemp.

“He cut her with the machete and left her in the pool of her blood,” Baba Nati, a relative, who was among the first persons attracted to the scene of the incident, told newsmen.

Nati said members of the household heard the deceased woman shouting for help at about 6am, and upon rushing to her sleeping chambers, discovered her lifeless body in the pool of her blood.

Also, Moses Yakubu, a younger brother of the suspect, said household members stormed in on Bravo, and beat him to unconsciousness.

He said his elder brother have been behaving abnormal, and had the previous night acted strangely and was restless.

“He is into excessive consumption of hard drugs, and has been acting strangely of late,” the younger brother said in Hausa.

State police command spokesman, DSP Emmanuel Abuh confirmed the incident, and said the police were already investigating it after picking the unconscious suspect for medical attention.
