Ex-NAFDAC DG Paul Orhii storms IDP camps In Daudu With Daniel Amokachi ,Donates relief Materials. PHOTOS




Immediate past Director General of NAFDAC, Dr. Paul has said he will take up special cases of persons displaced as a result of attack on farming communities in Benue State by Fulani herdsmen to the outside world.

Orhii, disclosed this during his visit to IDP camps in Gbajimba today 12 Dec 2016.

Dr Orhii who was accompanied on the visit by Daniel Amokachi former Super Eagles player said he was touched by the plight of the IDPs who are camped in Daudu, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State,hence his visit.

This visit is coming at the wake of Christmas's festivities and it no doubt uplifted spirit of the IDPs.

The former NAFDAC DG donated assorted relief materials including indomie noodles, biscuits, assorted cartons of soft drinks, packets of bottle water, detergents, soaps among other items.

He promised to get across his friends in the Medical and Pharmaceutical sector to attend to the health needs of the IDPs.

Responding on behalf of the IDPs,Rev. Fr. Solomon Ukeyima of St. Francis Mission Daudu thanked the visitors for their donations on behalf of the IDPS. He comended Paul Orhii for the visit and hoped that other well meaning individuals would emulate him.
Benue born Nigeria ex international, Daniel Amokachi supported Orhii's efforts with sports wears and facilities.

He said the visit is the beginning of one in the series of his visits at home disclosing that his maternal home is Gboko.

The situation at the IDP camps calls for more humanitarian support. IDPs are leaving in fear despite been housed by a United Nation's facility as the Fulani's are camped few metres away from UNHCR Camp Daudu.

Fr. Ukeyima has been involved in helping to give the IDPs hope.

The camp is designed to have skill acquisition and sports facilities.

UNHCR Head of Field Unit Makurdi, Sam Agwa conducted the ex-NAFDAC boss and his associate, Amokachi round the the camp to inspect facilities.

The team is scheduled to visit Agatu tomorrow, Tuesday 13 Dec 2016 to identify with the IDPs there.
