Benue state government and FERMA lay claim to rehabilitated Mkd-Lafia-ABJ expressway.

The recent Makurdi flood that caused havoc in the state also caused the collapse of a portion of Mkd-Lafia- Abuja way.
This collapse caused accidents and the death of one person and was even causing  terrible traffic grid lock on the expressway.

Benue state  Gov. Samuel Ortom quickly directed the Ministry of Works and CGGC company to fix the bad portion, the Hon Commissioner for works even shared pictures of equipments on site and how work had began..same Commisioner gave an update shortly after work was completed.

And then the Federal Roads Management Agency (FERMA) came up with new claims on Channels TV,taking credit for the job and fixed its signpost at the site.

Now who actually fixed that portion, is it the state government or FERMA?

When contacted ,Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Terver Akase in his response said,

Mimi, the important thing is that the portion of the Makurdi - Lafia road which collapsed is now in good condition. Benue State Government repaired that portion of the road and it did so without any pride. Governor Samuel Ortom directed the state Ministry of Works to immediately fix the failed part of the road to enable the people of Benue and other Nigerians have smooth movement. There is nothing wrong in FERMA planting their signpost where the road got bad but has now been fixed by Benue State Government. After all, the job of rehabilitating federal roads such as the Makurdi - Lafia road is theirs. Many thanks.
