NUT Says Gov Suswam's Artitude Towards The Ongoing Teachers Strike Is Another Version Of BOKO HARAM On The State.

For keeping primary school students at home for the past 8 months, Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State has been accused of running an “inept” government.
Mr. Suswam was berated by the Nigerian Union of Teachers, NUT, whose president, Michael Olukoya, addressed a conference on Wednesday in Abuja.
Primary school teachers in Benue have been on strike since October 4, 2013 to demand that the government honours its agreement to pay them a minimum wage of N18,000.

“It is lamentable and we are saddened by the actions of Benue State government which has kept pupils of public primary schools in the state idling at home for eight months now,” Mr. Olukoya said. “Such exhibition of ineptitude by the government can be described as another version of Boko Haram on a State which has produced national leaders in the likes of the current President of Senate, Distinguish Senator David Mark.”

“We demand that the Governor Gabriel Suswam honour the State Government’s agreement with Primary School Teachers of the State and BRING BACK OUR PUPILS TO SCHOOL,” he added.
