Katy Perry and Russel Brand weds in India in the Hindu way.

After months of planning and attempts to keep the nuptials under wraps, a source at the resort in northwestern India where Katy Perry and Russell Brand are spending the weekend has confirmed that the couple is now officially married.

Today's traditional Hindu wedding took place at luxury property within a wild tiger sanctuary, according to the Huffington Post.

The ceremony was the highlight of a six-day celebration -- including a Bollywood-themed party on Friday night. The couple, who met at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, got engaged in December '09 while vacationing in India, after less than five months of dating.

Coverage of the event was sold to a London news outlet; no other journalists were allowed entry.

Perry, 25, and her groom, 35, both reportedly wore traditional Indian attire for the ceremony, conducted by a Hindu priest. At a celebration on the eve of the wedding, Perry's hands and palms were designed with henna art, in the custom of Indian brides. She and other female guests were reportedly wearing saris for the wedding itself.

Latest on Henry Okah

The bail application of Nigerian terror accused Henry Okah was expected to resume on Friday in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court.

A former marine engineer, Okah faces charges of engaging in terrorist activities, conspiracy to do so, and delivering, placing and detonating an explosive device.

State prosecutor Shaun Abrahams on Thursday presented new evidence - an affidavit claiming Okah had instructed his co-conspirators to buy the two cars that were to be used in the October 1 twin car bombs that killed 12 people and injured 36 others.

The State also alleged Okah's cellphone records revealed he had been in contact with Chima Orlu, one of the men currently wanted by Nigerian authorities for the attacks.

Okah's lawyer Rudi Krause asked the State to supply him with copies of cellphone records used as evidence to link the 45-year-old father of four to the Independence Day car bombings.

The impersonator, whose true identity is yet to be ascertained, opened a Facebook account in July and posted pictures of eLDee and his family, even going as far as updating his status regularly to keep his unsuspecting Facebook friends in the know of activities very similar to the real eLDee’s.

It's been going on for weeks, back and forth these two (9ice and Ruggedman) have been singing, tweeting and updating negative things about themselves.
This stems from a controversial song that was released on 9ice's album titled "Once Bitten Twice Shy" in which he admits to the public that his newly married wife and mother of his only child is having an affair with a friend.

Well, this set off a chain reaction of events leading to leaked phone conversations between Ruggedman (the alleged man in the dark) and 9ice; Toni Payne (9ice's recently divorced wife) taking sides with Ruggedman by insulting 9ice on the social network Twitter and 9ice dropping a diss song for Ruggedman on his birthday.

Well, Ruggedy Baba (who we don't know when he'll drop his album as he launched it over two months now) has replied 9ice with a song titled "9ice the Ingrate" in which he features a dude called Chinaydu (who at this point we think is under Ruggedman's "Ruggedy Records").

Commotion Cossy as we’d like to call her because of her now legendary brachial attributes, is a personality many husbands, bachelors and young men would want to read about anytime of the day. And as a personality, Cossy has become an item many a wife would not want on their menu list or served up their tables even for breakfast.

But rather than tormenting souls with her ‘huge mammary gift of nature’ Cossy Orjiakor the Boobs queen has been cooling her feet at the Ilasan police station, Jakande First Gate on the Lagos Island. And for more than 34 hours she did just that behind the counters.

Problem started when a suspect was caught trying to break into her Ilasan residence. The locals in the area who knew the actress very well descended on the suspect and took to the street code of conduct by meting out the ever popular jungle justice even before Cossy could appear on the scene. She was said to have gone out for her daily business.

According to her, she called the police but was told that the police had no vehicle that could travel up the bumpy road to her house.

They prevailed on her to wait until they could get a good SUV that could manage the road.

The so-called help did not come and she had to dial 767 for help and she was advised to take the suspect to the police station by herself.

She said “ I felt very uncomfortable but accepted to help as the Baale of the Ilasan at this time was also involved”.

So, with the Baale and the many locals who had come to help her she headed for the Ilasan Police Staton.
Unknown to her the Divisional Police Office of the Station, a certain Mr. Ekpo had other ideas. The moment they dragged in the suspect the D.P.O. accused them of taking the laws into their own hands by meting out justice on the suspect and concluded the suspect was not caught in the act at all.

After being delayed for more than three hours, she called 112 and somehow her gesture was misunderstood by the DPO who charged her for assault.

“Immediately after this, the suspect was released and allowed to go and treat himself in some undisclosed hospital” Cossy revealed. “Thereafter, I was detained with the Baale and we have remained behind the counters for the past 32 hours”, an angry Cossy confirmed to this writer on Wednesday evening

When Showtime got in touch with the DPO, Mr Ekpo of Ilasan police station, the police officer confirmed the story and agreed the sexy actress has been in their custody for sometime but debunk the allegation that he has held her and the Baale unlawfully.

According to the DPO “ They had apprehended an innocent man and had beaten him thoroughly without no just course. As a police officer it is my job to investigate and I have investigated that no one had any proof that the suspect in question is a buglar”.

Yet coming from Cossy, the Baale and a handful of the local it is evident that they have been held under detention for more than 32 hours. This has probably put paid to all the plans for the sultry actress to celebrate her birthday today, Ocober 16th.

Munya misses out on Big Brother victory.

Munya’s nine lives finally came to an end when IK announced that the Nigerian was the last man standing.

HIV/AIDS:Benue FirstLady Procures AVR drugs worth N250m.

The Benue State FirstLady Arc Mrs Dooshima Suswam has procured AVR drugs worth N250m
In what appeared a renewed onslaught against the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Benue State, the state government has procured large quantities of anti-retroviral drugs valued at over N250 million for the treatment of the victims of the virus.

Also procured by the state government were drugs for the treatment of opportunistic infections for distribution to the 23 HIV/AIDS counseling and treatment centres across the state.

This hint was dropped by Benue State First Lady, Mrs. Yemisi Doo-Suswam at an interactive session with newsmen in Makurdi.

Mrs. Suswam, who is the initiator of the Sev Av Foundation, intimated that her foundation has establish two HIV/AIDS treatment centres in the state while work on the third was still ongoing.

She stressed that the foundation was working tirelessly across the state to ensure the drastic reduction of the level of infection in Benue State.

Socio-economic implications

According to her, the intensified campaign being mounted by Sev Av on the dangers of the virus and its implication on the socio-economic life of the people and the first hand treatment availed the infected, had to a large extent created better awareness of the virus and succour to victims in the state.

She said: “The renewed onslaught on the virus in Benue State is yielding positive result because government and the Sev Av Foundation are neck deep in the campaign.

“This accounts for the better awareness of the dangers posed by the virus and better treatment facilities availed victims especially the women folk who constitute a larger percentage of the infected and affected.

“With the increased awareness and greater sensitivity people are now willing to turn up for voluntary testing and counseling which is also a plus to the campaign to reduce the level of infection in the state.”

The First Lady further stressed that the media has a critical role to play in the fight against the virus and the campaign to reduce infection level in the state in particular and country at large.

She said: “Government is doing its best and my foundation is not resting either. But this fight will be deepened with the collaboration of newsmen who also have a role to play to ensure the success of the campaign.
