4 Children drown in Abuja.

Four children drown

Four children – Jinkai Hakila, 10, Bridget Ibrahim, 11, Precious Ezra, 14 and Azumi Daniel, 16 – drowned in Danko river in Galadimawa, a community in the federal capital territory (FCT), on Saturday.
The incident led to an atmosphere of gloom in the community.
According to NAN, the deceased were washing at the river with other children when tragedy struck.

Some witnesses told NAN that the incident happened around 11am.
Blessing Elisha, a witness, said the victims were playing in the water, and several efforts made to stop them yielded no result.
“I actually did not see them entering the water because I was busy washing, suddenly I was called that three of them had entered the river,” she said.

“It was then I looked up and saw the fourth one going in. I attempted to rescue her, but almost drowned in the process.
“Then I left her and ran to call for help.”
Alhassan Abdulwahab, one the first people who responded to the distress call, said it took about three hours to get their corpses out of the river.
He said the information gathered from other children at the scene showed that the youngest of the deceased was the first to enter the river.
He said others drowned while attempting to rescue her.

“We came to the scene of the incident immediately we got the information, and it took some time before we discovered their corpses because our nets were already in the river for fishing,” he said.
“It was after I pulled out my net with a very big fish in it that I saw the four corpses in the same area with their stomach not swollen.”
The four corpses were buried by the river side in line

Sex Scandal: 5 ways Apostle Johnson Suleman can prove his innocence in Ms Otobo's sex mess

Suleiman and Stephanie

The damaging allegations by Canada based singer, Stephanie Otobo, that Apostle Johnson Suleman of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide was her lover can be debunked easily.
All ‘the man of God’ needs to do – to prove his innocence that he never had sex with the stripper, never exchanged lewd text messages and chatted with her on Skype showing her his manhood – is to pass the following tests:

1.) Provide his passport for examination to show that he was never in the same foreign country listed by her accuser at the same time.
Stephanie listed Naples (Italy) and
New York (United States of America) as places they engaged in sex.Once both are never in those places, his case becomes easier.
2.) He should provide evidence that the money he gave her were for business and assistance. And the amount should be in the church’s records. Or in the records of his personal expenses clearly identified as such.
3.) He should tell Nigerians what the subject of blackmail is.And details of when the blackmail and extortion started, and what he did to the threat.

4.) Submit his phones, iPad and laptop for forensic examination to show that he never had sexual conversations with Stephanie.Stephanie Otobo should provide all the telephone numbers and accounts used in the so-called conversations and chats.
5.) He should present himself to the police where both parties will be interviewed.Since a crime of extortion and blackmail is being pursued, not to talk of the libel of monumental proportion, the meeting will go a long way between accuser and accused.
The purpose is for both to debunk allegations leveled by the other party. One claimed they met, the other denied.Stephanie has to do more than the flippant details she’s providing. She has to remember dates and places and events that can be easily corroborated.

Channels TV anchor, Suleiman Aledeh, quits; gives reasons

Suleiman quits ChannelsTv

Sulaiman Aledeh, a Channels Television anchor and producer, has left the Lagos-based broadcaster for AriseTV in London, he told PREMIUM TIMES Saturday.

Mr. Aledeh, 43, made his debut on AriseTV, owned by newspaper publisher, Nduka Obaigbena, on Saturday evening, reading the station’s 4:00 p.m. bulletin.

“My babies and their mother, parents and family are so fine with my decision to move on,” Mr. Aledeh told PREMIUM TIMES by telephone Saturday.

Mr. Aledeh spent eight years with Channels Television, and was well known as a co-anchor of the breakfast programme, ‘Sunrise Daily.’

His departure from the station was effective March 2.

He said he had mulled the move for some time, especially amongst his immediate family members, because the station was becoming increasingly uninspiring of late.

“It was time to move,” Mr. Aledeh said. “Almost eight years, I needed greater challenges and not routine that was getting boring for me.”

Mr. Aledeh, a Massachusetts Institute of Technology graduate, said his friendship with his former employers and colleagues remains cordial.
