Bride writes exam on her wedding day a Benue state University.(Photos)

FB_IMG_1507391963955.jpgThe bride was pictured above allegedly had to sit for an examination in Benue state university  on the day of her wedding - yes on her wedding day. The day that was supposed to be a somewhat special day for became one that clashed with something she probably didn't bargain for.

She found herself at that cross road of either postponing the wedding or having maybe a carryover, so she decided to eat her cake and have it as she was able to write both the exam and still go on with the wedding.

After all, there is nothing to lose...

From the photo above, one can tell that she has the support of people around her cause her bridesmaids can be seen in purple, probably giving her moral support.

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Bode George, has promised to deliver to the party, a presidential win if elected its National Chairman.

George stated this during his appearance onChannels Television’s Politics Today where he vowed to oust the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 elections.

“But I can promise to work with our leaders to find a common ground and negotiate a healthy compromise to achieve a common purpose of a strong, prosperous, equitable, democratic and victorious organisation,” he added.

The PDP had been engulfed in a leadership tussle between a faction of the party led by it former National Chairman, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and Senator Ahmed Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee’s faction.

The crisis later came to an end after about 14 months, following the judgment of the Supreme Court which sacked Senator Sheriff and asked the Caretaker Committee take over the party’s leadership.

Why Governments Alone Should Not Be Left To Cater For Education – Professor Omisore

Influential Nigerians, groups and associations have been admonished to
lend hands of support to governments at all levels to radically transform
the country’s education sector.
This admonition was given by Professor (Chief) Emmanuel Olufemi Omisore of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife over the weekend while speaking at the 2017 Reunion of the 1982 set of old boys of Lagelu Grammar School, Ibadan.
Professor Omisore who is also the National President of Lagelu Grammar
School Old Boys (LAGSOBA) explained further that the economic recession being experienced by the country has made it imperative for concerned groups and individuals to lift more than one finger in support of education in the country.
His words “when we take care of education, we take care of the future. The present generation of youths must be supported to acquire quality
education. Governments at all levels must get their priorities right.
Education should be given the kind of attention it requires.”
He also took time to salute members of LAGSOBA for doing a Yeoman’s job of keeping their alma mater in top shape and for contributing to the
smoothness of the flow of education there.
“We thank God that Lagelu Old boys are excelling in all spheres and are
everywhere all over the world. I am also proud that they love their alma
mater and have been doing their very best to make it the best.
“Permit me to use this opportunity to urge them strongly to do more
especially when we are about to mark the 60th anniversary of the school.”
Professor Omisore elaborated more on the 60th anniversary which comes up sometime in January, 2018.
“We have set up several committees that will work to ensure that the
anniversary celebration records resounding success. We are insistent that
we will use the opportunity to further transform the school and the lives
of the present students and those coming behind them.”
Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of the set, Mr Sunday Amoo enumerated some of the contributions of the set towards the growth of the school.
According to him “we have been paying the WAEC fees of some indigent
students in the school, we produced stools for students’ use at the
laboratories among others.”
During the two-day reunion, LAGSOBA 1982 set members had the opportunity of being lectured on how to make money via agricultural practices.
A lecture on personal health was also delivered by one of them, Dr Kayode
Afolabi who was a onetime Commissioner for Health in Oyo State. He is now a Director at the Federal Ministry of Health in Abuja.
Before Afolabi, another 1982 set member, Pastor Taiwo Otegbeye equally
delivered a lecture on personal insurance policy choices. Otegbeye was
also a former Commissioner for Information and Culture in Oyo State.
Another high point during the reunion was the official swearing in of the
National Executives of the group led by Mr Sunday Amoo. They were sworn in by Colonel Bola Ogunsanwo (Rtd), the Chairman, Board of Trustees of LAGSOBA. He was earlier decorated as the ‘Role Model’ for the 1982 Set members. The set’s board of trustee was inaugurated too.
A gala night was held afterwards with many prizes won by members during the ‘raffle draw’ segment.
The two-day reunion was rounded off on the second day with a visit to the
school at Agugu, Ibadan. While speaking after the event, the new Chairman for LAGSOBA ’82, Mr Sunday Amoo thanked all who contributed to the success of the event.
Said Amoo “On behalf of LAGSOBA 82 set, I thank all who worked assiduously
to ensure the success of our two-day reunion. We thank God that we enjoyed clement weather. We thank our national President, Professor Omisore and
both Comrade Wale Adeoye, the National Secretary and Engineer Lukman
Olateju, the National Financial Secretary who accompanied our President.
“We are also grateful to Colonel Bola Ogunsanwo, our Role Model for
graciously accepting to identify with us.
I must specially thank the Diaspora-chairman for LAGSOBA 82, Pharmacist Sikiru Odediran for coming all the way from the US to attend. I can’t forget our Reunion Chairman and Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Tunde Braimoh who could not make this event because it falls on his birthday and he has to attend to his constituent in Lagos.
“My appreciation goes to other members of the organizing committee
including Godwin Okorie, Kolawole Amole, Toba Fabiyi and Bola Adeyemi. May God continue to keep us in one love.”
The two-day event took place at the exclusive Pristine Guests’ Place,
Alalubosa GRA, Ibadan between Saturday, September 30 and Sunday, October 1, 2017.

Lady left injured after pastor poured a liquid substance into her vagina during deliverance .

.An Ekiti State pastor has been accused of causing injuries to a woman, Mrs. Omowale's private part, after he allegedly poured a liquid substance into her vagina during deliverance.

In an interview with Omo Edema of Voice 89.9FM, she said: “I live in Lagos. One day, my younger brother called me that there was a prophecy from his Prophet, Prophet Oni Olakanye of CAC Palace of Mercy, Mathew, Olokuta, Ado-Ekiti, that I would need to come down to Ado-Ekiti for prayers concerning my infertility. ..I have married since 2011, but no child. So I discussed the issue with my husband and he allowed me travel to visit the prophet. When I got to the prophet, a few days later, he first prayed with me at the church reception. ..He subsequently called me down into one of the rooms in the mission house where he placed a mirror under my private part—the exercise he called inspection, and later poured some liquid substance in my private part and fingered it in by himself. ..He therefore took me to bathroom where I bathed on a mortar with a black soap and native sponge while he stood in with me. He demanded for N50,000 which I gave to him on the same day...Lastly, he gave me a ball-shaped substance to insert into my private part in the bedtime when I get home. I did according to his instructions. Since then, my private part has been badly affected with wounds without cure yet."..However, while speaking with Omo Edema, Prophet Olakanye said: “I know her, but not all her allegations against me were true. I collected N50,000 to work for her and to ensure she has child in life. The substance I gave her to insert into her private part; she didn’t use it according to my instruction.

Why Men Should Stop Squeezing Woman’s Chest Like Mango Or Orange – Medical Doctor Reveals

Dr. Beatrice Wiafe -Addai, the president of Breast Care International has urged men to handle the breast of women with care as it is a very fragile part of a woman’s anatomy.
The Doctor who was speaking on the sidelines of the breast cancer awareness month which is celebrated in October every year, Dr. Wiafe-Addai told Starr Fm morning show host Francis Abban that contrary to claims that the sucking of breast by men reduces the risk of getting breast cancer in women, those claims are untrue.

“It is not true that the more you suck a woman’s breast it prevents the risk of getting breast cancer. What is true is that women who have children should breastfeed, and breastfeeding has some positive effect on the woman as far as breast cancer is concerned. But not adult men to go and suck the breast thinking it will protect the woman from breast cancer, that is not true, it is very fragile so let’s handle it with care…don’t squeeze it like you have some mango or orange that you are squeezing to get some fluid out,” Dr. Wiafe-Addai counselled.
She also advised men not to abandon women diagnosed with breast cancer but rather help to fight it.

“If you find something in a woman’s breast don’t send her to her family home because she has been diagnosed of breast cancer. Give her all the morale even if not financial. So that she knows that someone is with her through the fight. The fight against breast cancer is not an easy one so women need all the support from men, society and the nation,” she noted .

Kachikwu vs Baru: Heavy security at NNPC headquarters

There was heavy security presence at the headquarters of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Abuja on Friday.

Armed security men from the Nigeria Police Force and the Army were sighted at the entrance of the oil firm, while police pickup vans and armoured personnel carriers were conspicuously stationed on both sides of the roads that lead to the NNPC.
It was learnt that the deployment was sequel to a request by the security department of the corporation.
A source at the security department told one of our correspondents that the move had become necessary due to the tension generated by the memo written by the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, to President Muhammadu Buhari, which was leaked.
The minister, had in the memo accused the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru, of insubordination.
The memo has generated reactions from Civil Society Organisations, opposition parties and even the National Assembly, which had commenced investigation into the allegations of the awarding of contracts to the tune of $24bn without due process.

A source at the NNPC said, “There have been soldiers at the NNPC since the Boko Haram threats of 2013.
“However, we received fresh reports that people may be coming to demonstrate at the NNPC, so we had to beef the security up around the NNPC.
“Also, the feud between both sides has caused some division at the NNPC. For now, visitors won’t be allowed to drive in, except they have special appointment or they are contractors and there are special identity cards given to contractors.”
The source revealed that soldiers were running eight-hour shifts at the NNPC and had also been placed on alert.

He added, “There are eight soldiers on duty every eight hours and then there are snipers at the six watch towers.

Heavy security at NNPC headquarters“Under the bridge beside the NNPC, there is a military unit on standby. They have been there since Boko Haram started sending threat messages but now that two bosses are fighting, they have also been placed on alert.
“Security has also been beefed up because of the sensitivity of the issue. They are under a Senate investigation and all those who got the (about) $24bn contracts have their interests to protect, including international oil companies. So, we are just taking precautionary steps.”
The situation around the NNPC headquarters was described as unusual by people working there.
But when contacted to speak on why there was heavy security presence at the corporation, the firm’s Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Ndu Ughamadu, described the development as normal.
He said, “From time to time, we do that. They were there like that sometime last month, and so on and so forth. However, you are aware that this is the country’s national oil corporation and it needs security presence, just like the kind of heavy security presence at the Central Bank of Nigeria.

“So it is not unusual. The security men are always there. Last month, they sent mobile police and military contingents here. Do you expect a national oil corporation not to have security presence?”
When one of our correspondents insisted that the security presence had increased, the NNPC spokesperson replied, “We had about the same level of security presence last month. Most times, heavy security vehicles come in and go out.
“If you come here around 3pm daily, you will see heavy military vehicles moving in and out when they are changing duties. So the official reaction you seek to this issue is that it is a normal routine.”
Also, the Federal Capital Territory Police Command spokesman, Anjuguri Manzah, said the tightening of security around the NNPC Towers was “just routine police movement.”
He denied that there was a security emergency at the NNPC headquarters, adding that the police operatives deployed in the complex were on regular police duties.

“There was no security emergency; the deployment was just routine police movement. I am sure the men must have left the place by now. They are not meant to stay there for long,” he explained.
It was however gathered that the armoured trucks and pickup vans left the area at 5pm when most offices in the area had closed. (Punch)
