Fmr President of Nigeria ,Chief Olusegun Obasanjo today july 16 2016 paid a condolence visit to Borno state govt and the family of the late Shettima Monguno...to commiserate with them over the death of elder statesman,Late Shettima Ali Monguno the nation’s first Minister of Petroleum.
Monguno passed away on 8th July 2016 in Maiduguri, Borno State at the age of 90.He has since been buried.

N338bn bailout: Benue, Imo diverted funds – ICPC report
Benue and Imo states allegedly diverted money meant for the payment of workers’ salaries. This is according to a report by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, which monitored how states spent the N338bn bailout fund given to them by the Federal Government.

Kenneth Minimah, and 52 others, over arms procurement scandal, some retired military officers and other Nigerians have said that the probe should be extended to the Minister of Interior, Lt. -Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau (retd.), and the current Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai.

Turkish army officers said they seized power in the country as warplanes flew over the capital and tanks blocked roads in Istanbul. Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said his government is still in control and will resist.
Daring Military Coup In Turkey.
The Istanbul airport has been seized by coup plotters as The Turkish Prime Minister confirmed a coup attempt in Turkey.
Binali Yildirim announced the coup plot but said it was under control and that the coup plotters will be dealt with. Details have not immediately been made available but a number of generals are said to be involved.
Two key bridges also have been shut down by the Army and despite claims of the PM, it appears the coup is still underway as the Army has released a statement that it has seized power.

Nigerian Shiites “block highway”, demand El-Zakzaky’s release
Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, the body of Shiites in the country, have blocked the Zaria-Kaduna expressway, to protest against the prolonged detention of their leader, Ibrahim El Zakzaky.
Mr. Zakzaky has been in detention since December 2015.
He was arrested by the Nigerian army after troops clashed with Shi’a members, killing over 300 of them.
