Celeb Out & About Amber And Whiz.

Here ,Amber flaunts her baby bump. The latest gist is that ,the two love birds have decided to legalise their marriage before the arrival of their baby.

They are in a hurry to make their union official. So they're about to fill out the marital paperwork in the next few weeks, after he finishes up this tour, which will then make them legally married. And a big ceremony (when Amber can fit into her wedding dress) will follow, after Amber pops out their brand new baby.
Whiz made out this statement during a press chat.

"We're gonna get like license marriage. A couple of weeks we're gonna have that done. I've said it, I don't think people really understood what I was saying. They're like, 'yeah okay, whatever.' Definitely, like in the next few weeks. Before or after I get off tour. You just sign the papers or whatever and it's like a legal thing. It's like 'Bam, you're married.' And then when you have the ceremony that's when you invite the family, she can fit into her dress."

University Of Lagos Ranked 9th In Africa's Top Universities.

The University Of Lagos In Akoka has landed in 9th position for Africa.com’s top 10 universities in Africa.

The list was compiled by Africa.com with the following criteria:

First, as with any similar list that determines which universities are “best,” Africa.com collected both quantitative and qualitative data to determine which universities in Africa would make our Top 10 List.

Second, we made a determination to create two distinct lists: a) Africa, excluding South Africa, and b) South Africa. If we were not to have made this distinction, our Top 10 List would be dominated by South African universities, and would not be useful to those seeking a pan-African perspective. At the same time, we wish to acknowledge the strength of South Africa’s many world-class universities, so we decided to dedicate a list that features just South African institutions.

Third, our criteria include the following: 1) undergraduate and graduate school reputation among higher education peers; 2) student selectivity for entering undergraduate class; 3) quality and quantity of faculty research, including depth of research facilities and engagement beyond immediate community, and 4) international student ratio—the degree to which institution draws students from outside of its national boundaries.

Fourth, in addition to collecting quantitative data on the criteria above, we used our extensive network on the continent for qualitative input as a “reality check” to the results that our data yielded. These “reality checks” resulted in some small, but important adjustments to the list.

We are very proud of our list of the best universities in Africa, and hope that it is a useful tool for those who seek a relative comparison of institutions of higher education on the continent.

Interestingly, Egypt came on top with 3 of the best universities in Africa, and University of Ghana came in at 8th. See full list below:

1. Cairo University – Egypt
2. American University in Cairo – Egypt
3. Mansoura University – Egypt
4. Makerere University – Uganda
5. University of Nairobi – Kenya
6. University of Dar es Salaam – Tanzania
7. University of Botswana – Botswana
8. University of Ghana – Ghana
9. University of Lagos – Nigeria
10. Ashesi University – Ghana

Ghana Artists Threaten To Pull Out Of "Top Of The World Celebration " Concert Because P-Square Is Being Paid $200,000 And They Are Being Paid $5,000.

I heard about the lamentations of Ghanians that there is huge disparity and ‘discriminatory’ treatment given to their artistes in the recent upcoming event organised by Charter House and Malta Guiness,Ghanians should understand how big the group-P-Square is.
Sarkodie & R2Bees are complaining that it is unjustifiable paying P-Square $200,000 to perform in Ghana with them when the latter persons are being paid ONLY 10,000 Ghana cedis (5,000 dollars).
Sarkodie and Dynamic duo R2Bees who have been billed to Perform alongside Pan Africa group P-Square; for the Malta Guinness sponsored “Top of the World Celebration” Concert have threatened to pull out of the show if organizers do not pay them $20, 000 and $10, 000 respectively”. So Sarkodie and R2Bees think they can march up to P-square in music?they should look for their mates.

Acid Bath -Guy Baths Fiancé With Acid.

The motive behind the acid bath of 22-year-old Chika Egbo by her estranged lover, David Sulaimon, remains elusive, but one thing is sure, the victim may not remain the same again.

Chika is a student of the Enugu State College of Education.

Last Tuesday, when our correspondent visited her at the Burns Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Egbo has become a shadow of the beautiful girl she was. The substance Sulaimon allegedly poured on her had destroyed every visible skin from her chest upwards.

She mumbled to her father, a Taraba State-based businessman, as she could neither see nor speak properly at the time.

When her father, Matthew Egbo, narrated the incident that led to Chika’s state, the story brought tears to his eyes as he lamented that his daughter would never be normal again.

Matthew said, “In March 2011, someone who identified himself as Lekan Sulaimon called me, asking for my daughter’s hand in marriage. We talked a lot and I promised to speak with Chika on the issue.
“My daughter later told me he was the boy she was in love with and said she had resolved to marry him.”

After much discussion, Matthew told Sulaimon to bring his parents for proper introduction, but the suitor said his father was ill and needed to be taken abroad for treatment. He also said his mother was abroad.

Matthew said, “On the June 25 date that we agreed on, Sulaimon brought seven men and four women dressed in Yoruba attire to my hometown, Enugu, where we held the introduction.
“But around November last year, my wife travelled from Taraba to Enugu and Chika told her she was pregnant.”

According to Matthew, Chika told her parents they should not be alarmed since she and Sulaiman had agreed to get married.

Chika was instructed to go to Lagos and tell Sulaiman’s relations about the pregnancy.
But when she got back from Lagos, Chika told her father that she discovered that most of what Sulaiman had told her about his parents were lies.

Matthew explained, “For instance, Chika discovered that Sulaimon’s father was hale and hearty. The father told her he was not aware of any plans by his son to get married.
“She also learnt that the mother was not abroad too. She visited her and she told us the woman received her well and even expressed joy that his son had found someone to marry.
“But after the visit, we heard nothing from neither Sulaimon nor his parents until after my daughter gave birth to a baby girl on May 4.

Our correspondent learnt that Chika had broached the idea of abortion to her parents, as she told them it was apparent that the man she was in love with had lied to her all along.
Matthew forbade her to consider abortion. After the baby was born, Chika was said to have informed Sulaimon, but he gave series of excuses why he could not visit her.
He reportedly told her he was facing some challenges and did not have the wherewithal to take care of the baby at the moment.

After a few months, Chika’s baby girl was weaned and taken to Taraba to live with Matthew and his wife.

The Egbos said they took the decision to take the baby off their daughter’s hands so that she could continue her study.
PUNCH Metro learnt that in November, Sulaimon began to request that he needed to see his baby, but Matthew told him to bring his parents to come and iron things out.

Chika was said to have insisted she did not want to have anything to do with the young man anymore.
But on November 5, Chika travelled to Lagos after Sulaimon had informed her that his mother wanted to see her. The unsuspecting girl left Enugu without informing her parents.
“My phone just rang that day and I was told to come to Lagos because a young man had poured acid on my daughter,” Chika’s father said.

Matthew said the message came as a rude shock since he was not aware his daughter went to Lagos. He explained that the police were the ones who got his number from her phone.
He said,“What I learnt was that when she arrived Igando, Lagos, Sulaimon met her and she demanded that he should take her to his mother who wanted to see her.

“What we gathered from the little she could mumble to us was that Sulaimon went behind a house and as they were about to pick an okada to his mother’s house, he brought out a polythene.
“But when they stopped at a point and Chika thought they were going to proceed to his mother’s house, he just opened a container in the polythene he was carrying and emptied its content on her head.

“She told us when she realised that what Sulaimon poured on her had began eating into her skin, she raised the alarm and called for help.”

PUNCH Metro learnt that passersby and sympathisers, who had been alerted to the young woman’s plight, pursued the fleeing Sulaimon. He was caught and taken to Ikotun Police Station.
“Till now, I still don’t know why he did what he did,” Matthew said.

Divisional Police Officer of Ikotun, Mr. Augustin Akika, confirmed the incident, but said the suspect had been transferred to the state Criminal Investigations Department, Yaba.

Lindsay Lohan Arrested For Fighting At A New York City Night Club.

Lindsay Lohan was arrested at 4 am Thursday in New York City for allegedly punching a woman at a New York City nightclub ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.
Our sources say Lohan was at Club Avenue when she got into some sort of argument with a female patron and it became physical. We're told cops came and arrested Lindsay for allegedly assaulting her.
Law enforcement said prior to the fight words were exchanged between Lindsay and the woman as they sat in separate booths near each other. Lindsay said something to the effect of, "Give me my space." Some time passed and then, for some reason, Lindsay allegedly punched the girl in the left side of her face.
By the time cops arrived Lindsay had left the club and was a passenger in a car that was leaving the area. Cops intercepted the car and made the arrest.
While Lohan was in cuffs, she kept repeating, "Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?"
Lindsay was booked for 3rd degree misdemeanor assault, given a desk appearance ticket (meaning she must show up in court in the near future) and released several hours after she was taken into custody. Law enforcement says she was "visibly tired" at the station.Investigators went back to the club looking for security footage of the alleged altercation.
And this isn't Lindsay's only legal problem. TMZ broke the story ... she is about to be charged with lying to cops in June after her car accident on Pacific Coast Highway. She told them she was a passenger in the Porsche when actually she was driving.
And, if Lindsay is formally charged with the latest crime, it could trigger yet another probation violation.

Federal Government Sacks Dr Bashir Gwandu For Exposing Fraud In NCC.

Following heated controversies over frequency spectrum at the Nigerian Communications Commission, the Federal Government has sacked the Executive Commissioner, Technical Services, NCC, Dr. Bashir Gwandu.

The sacking, which took effect from November 9, 2012, according to a statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, was for gross insubordination.

Anyim, in the letter titled, ‘Removal from office,’ said Gwandu’s allegations against the management of NCC were unfounded.

He said the allegations had been duly investigated by the board of NCC and the Ministry of Communication Technology, and were found to be false and unfounded.

NCC had for several months been in internal crisis occasioned by allegations of frequency racketeering made by Gwandu.

Frequency spectrum is the entire spectrum of electromagnetic frequencies used for communications. This includes frequencies used for radio, radar, television and telecommunications.

A source at NCC also confirmed that Gwandu was sacked for gross insubordination to the NCC Board, particularly the Executive Vice-Chairman, Dr. Eugene Juwah.

It had recently been reported that there were cracks among members at the top echelon of NCC following allegations that a particular frequency spectrum was sold at very meagre price by the current management of the commission.

Gwandu had raised allegations that corruption and illegality were being committed at the NCC with respect to the sale of frequency spectrum.

Gwandu could not be reached as at the time this report was filed as he refused to pick calls made to his mobile telephone lines.

Gwandu had alleged that NCC under Juwah, had sold the frequency band 450MHz valued at over $50m and occupied by the Nigeria Police Force since 2009 to a private company's, Open Skys Limited, for less than $6m without any competitive bidding process as provided by the NCC Act, 2003.

Open Skys was also said to have paid for the frequency in two tranches of N592.4m and N300m on November 15, 2011 and July 6, 2011 respectively, totalling N892.4m.

The former commissioner said if the 450MHZ spectrum allocation to Open Skys was done openly by the NCC, the nation would have made over N7bn from the sale of the frequency spectrum.

Gwandu, who headed the Technical Division of the regulatory agency, had confirmed to journalists that he was the source of the leaked petition, which had dominated the media for about two months.

However, when our correspondent called his mobile phone on Tuesday, he did not respond.

The Head, Media and Public Relations, NCC, Mr. Reuben Muoka, had denied the allegation, saying that the frequencies allocated to Open Skys and Smile Communications were in two different bands, adding that due process was followed in allocating them.

Muoka said the frequency spectrum allocated to the Police was not in any way affected by the allocation.

He said the current NCC helmsman did not initiate the allocation of the aforesaid frequencies, having resumed in July 2010, whereas the process began since 2009.

“Even after resumption at the NCC, Juwah has strictly followed the due process of issuance of licences and frequencies,” he had said.

Bobbi Christina In Car Crash.

Whitney Houston's daughter Bobbi Kristina has miraculously emerged unscathed after wrecking her Chevy Camaro in a frightening car crash moments ago ... TMZ has learned.

The accident just went down in Alpharetta, Georgia -- law enforcement tells us a passer-by noticed Bobbi's car all smashed up in an embankment and called 911.

When emergency personnel arrived at the scene, Bobbi Kristina was standing next to her vehicle and appeared to be uninjured.

Cops conducted an official accident investigation -- and believe Bobbi Kristina simply lost control of her car while making a left turn out of her apartment complex ... and drove over a curb and down an embankment, striking several small trees along the way.

Eventually, the car came to a stop on a local park trail.

After the investigation, cops issued BK a traffic citation for "failure to maintain lane."

Cops say ... it doesn't appear drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

Naomi Campbell And Kate Moss Share The Cover Of A German MagazineTopless.

As if you needed another reason to have a "girl crush," Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell share the cover of Germany's Interview magazine - topless.

Believe it or not, Interview Germany is the very first German magazine that Kate was ever photographed for and she went all out...both literally and figuratively. Not only was Ms. Moss paired with another top supermodel, Naomi Campbell, but the shoot was done by none other than fashion photography duo Mert & Marcus.

Although the standout pictures in the article feature the two models topless, it's more fashion spread than soft core porn.

We can't imagine how many awkward exchanges are going to occur at the newsstand when people buy this magazine but hey - It's Fashion!

You can find the ‘Naomi & Kate’ editorial in Interview’s Germany and Russia issues for the month of December 2012. If you are more of a visual person, have a browse through the gallery above.

Kim Kardarshian Becomes The Most Searched Person Of 2012.

It comes as no surprise that Kim Kardashian wins the title of "Most Searched Person Of 2012."
It had to be between her, Rihanna, and Beyonce - because all three of those ladies are capable of practically breaking the internet with just one sexy picture!

Between Kim K.'s curves, her new romance with Kanye West, Keeping Up with the Kardashians and the sex tape that is STILL available all over the web, it's our humble opinion that it is impossible to beat Kimmy in this category.
Congratulations Kim!

Senate Says No More "Hard Labour" For Prisoners.

The senate yesterday expunged hard labour from Nigerian Prisons Act, stressing that it was inherited from the colonial masters.
It recommended that ‘hard labour,’ according to Section (8)1, is “an inheritance from colonial era and should be deleted and replaced with Prison Labour.”
The Senate also recommended a bill for an Act to repeal the Prisons Act Cap. 129 Laws, 2004 and enact the Nigerian Prisons and Correctional Service.
The decision came following the amendment of the Prison Act carried out by Senate Committee on Interior, which was headed by Senator Atiku Bagudu, who also solicited for the accommodation of the Nigeria Prisons reform in the Subsidy Re-investment Empowerment Programme (SURE-P).
Senator Bagudu while speaking during the consideration of the report of the committee, added that anybody who interferes in the work of a prisoner by working outside a prison or entering any house commits an offence and is liable to one year imprisonment or N10,000 fine.
Section 8(g) stipulated that “interference with a prisoner working outside a prison, or allows such a prisoner to enter any house, yard or other premises (unless it is at the request of the prison officer or other person in charge of the prison), or assists such a prisoner to absent himself or neglect his work, commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding N10,000 or to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 12 months, or both.”
