Rihanna Seeks For Time Off To Have A Baby For Chris Brown.

Rihanna has apparently asked her record label for “time off” so she can have a baby with Chris Brown.
The pair split in 2009 after Chris was convicted of assaulting Rihanna, but they seem to have rekindled their relationship, with the Diamonds singer posting snaps of herself and Chris on Twitter.
Now friends say the 24-year-old is keen to start a family with the controversial singer.
“She asked her record company when the best time would be for her to take off, as she wants a baby,” an insider divulged to British magazine Closer.
“They just stared at her. Everyone was pretty open-mouthed. But she hasn’t got any time free in her diary until 2014.”
While Rihanna’s dad Ronald Fenty has publicly said he supports his daughter’s decision to reunite with Chris, her mother Monica Braithwaite doesn’t seem quite so sure.
Monica has apparently been reaching out to the singer to try and talk her out of a relationship with Chris.
“She called Rihanna to yell at her, asking what she’s doing with her life,” a source explained.
“They’ve been blowing up over the Chris issue for weeks now. Her mom has told her not to waste any time on Chris and said, ‘Is this the type of man you want as your baby’s dad? He’s acting just like your dad used to.’”
Rihanna has previously revealed that Ronald struggled with alcohol and drug addiction and was abusive to her mother.
However, Monica’s comments allegedly haven’t got through to the singer.
Rihanna has allegedly told friends to keep New Year’s Eve free, with friends convinced the couple are planning a surprise wedding on that date.
“This has made Rihanna even more determined to marry him,” the source sighed.
Meanwhile, Chris has made a return to Twitter with a reflective message.
The singer simply wrote “#CarpeDiem” on his page on Monday, marking his social media comeback after a bitter feud with comedienne Jenny Johnson about Rihanna.

John Mikel Obi Signs New Five Years Contract With Chelsea FC.

John Obi Mikel has signed a new five-year contract at Chelsea, the club announced today.

The 25-year-old midfielder committed his future to the European champions until 2017, a deal that could see him complete 11 years at Stamford Bridge.

Mikel, who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2006 after controversially pulling out of a move to Manchester United, said: “Chelsea seems like my home now because I have been here for over six years and I enjoy my time here.

“I come into the training ground every day to work and I value my time there. I am happy and want to keep going and win trophies for this club.”

He added: “I have basically won everything with Chelsea and those years have been really special for me, winning trophies with big names like Didier Drogba, John Terry and Frank Lampard who have had very long Chelsea careers.

‘Last season, to win the Champions League was even more special and I hope these next five years will bring even more success and I can win trophies with the new players we have here.

‘Being 25, I think I am now hitting my peak but as a player you want to improve every day and there is still room for that.

‘I want to learn from the players and the manager and I just want to keep going.’

Mikel is one of the most under-rated players in our squad. His job isn’t the most exciting but if you look at the stats, his pass and tackle success rate is incredible. He is played as a defensive midfielder and learnt from the best in Claude Makelele. Mikel is Chelsea through and through and will win many more trophies with the club.

Mikel Obi Fined £60,000 And 3 March Ban For Threatening Referee.

Chelsea's John Mikel Obi has been given a three-match ban and fined £60,000 by the Football Association for threatening referee Mark Clattenburg.
Mikel admitted an FA charge following an incident in the match officials' changing room after Chelsea's defeat by Manchester United on 28 October.
The FA accepted the player had believed the referee had racially abused him.
"But for that factor the suspension would have been significantly longer," the FA said in a statement.
In a personal hearing on Thursday the FA's Independent Regulatory Commission also accepted the Nigerian midfielder's explanation.
The FA has investigated the allegation against Clattenburg and found that there was no case for him to answer.
The police also dropped their own inquiry into the allegations that Clattenburg had racially abused Mikel, 25.
Mikel's team-mate Ramires had made the allegation and Chelsea later said they regretted the way the matter was handled.
Clattenburg missed four weekends of Premier League matches while the FA investigated Chelsea's complaint.

Mother And Stepdad Beat 7 Year Old Boy To Death For Not Reading His Bible And Doing His home Work.

Police in Las Vegas allege that a 7-year-old boy was beaten to death by his parents after failing to read the Bible or do his homework.
Roderick "RJ" Arrington Jr., was admitted to an area hospital on Nov. 29 because he was unresponsive, according to the Las Vegas Sun. Personnel there called officers to the scene after they observed severe bruising and brain swelling, according to a police report. The boy died the following afternoon.
Police arrested the boy's mother, Dina Palmer, 27, and stepfather, Markiece Palmer, 34, and charged them with the murder of the boy. Investigators said that Palmer "stood by and let her husband" shake and beat the boy to death.
According to KLAS, the arrest report detailed "open abrasions on [Arrington's] buttocks, severe bruising to his thighs, marks and bruises on his back and shoulders and evidence of previous beatings."
Markiece Palmer stated the second grade student was spanked on Nov. 27 because he had lied about reading the Bible; he said the boy was also spanked the following day for not finishing his homework, according to police.
Police claim the boy's stepfather beat him with a spatula, belt and possibly a wooden paddle. Dina Palmer allegedly struck her son on his buttocks with both a belt and her hand.
The couple reportedly called a pastor before dialing 911. KSNV writes, "Pastor Kenneth Hollingsworth says he's as shocked as anyone that Markiece Palmer chose to call him before first-responders."
The Palmers appeared in court Tuesday and each face charges of murder, child abuse and neglect, the station reports.

Would You Wear Pizza Hut Perfume?

It's pretty hard to compete with the behemoth of awesomeness and innovation that is the Domino's Pizza Tracker, but don't say Pizza Hut isn't trying. What started as a jokey Facebook post to Pizza Hut Canada's page last August has now snowballed into a full-blown IRL eau de pizza bottled fragrance. No, really. Pizza perfume is a thing that actually exists now, thanks to the folks at Pizza Hut. But what we want to know
Before you answer, someone wanting to make pizza their signature scent may not be all that bizarre. The idea started as a joke, but due to the overwhelmingly positive response, Pizza Hut and their creative/digital agency Grip Limited kicked this project to manufacturers. And really, it's not like Pizza Hut is the first to tap into the food-based fragrance market (see Burger King's Flame and "Que," the barbeque cologne). PLUS, Cosmo says dudes are way into the smell of cheese pizza (or rather, we believe their words were that cheese pizza is one of the "surprising scents that turn him on" *pause for necessary break*), sooooo yea.

Convened and hosted by Pastor Paul Adefarasin, The Experience is an Interdenominational Gospel concert that features some of the best-known musical talents of our time. The Event, which debuted in December 2006 with over 70,000 persons in attendance rapidly gained momentum at its second outing with a quantum leap in attendance of well over 250,000 people. The Experience has now become known as the largest musical concert in Africa.
n previous editions, the Experience has run through the night starting at 7.00pm and running till 6am the following morning; a colossal 11 hours of uninterrupted prayer and live music!
At its inception, the Experience was simply an opportunity for Nigerians to put aside tribe, tongue, class, and creed; come together and lift one voice and worship God. The event is seen as a bridge of reconciliation, and a beacon of light and hope to the much afflicted and often maligned continent of Africa. Attended by Federal and State dignitaries, Captains of Industry and your regular man or woman next door, The Experience was truly representative of a cross section of Nigerias eclectic community.
This years concert is scheduled to hold at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Onikan, Lagos from Friday, the 7th of December 2012 through to Saturday 8th of December starting from 6pm. The line up includes: the Soweto Spiritual Singers, Deitrick Haddon, Fred Hammond, Chevelle Franklyn, Israel Houghton, Don Moen, Mike Aremu, Sammie Okposo, Wale Adenuga and Chosen Treasure.

N150 Million For Abuja Carnival In 2013.

The Federal Government has earmarked N150 million to organise the Abuja Carnival in 2013.
The Minister of Culture, Tourism and National Orientation, Mr Edem Duke stated this in Abuja .
He appeared before the Senate Committee on Culture and Tourism to defend the ministry's 2013 budget estimates.
Duke told the committee that only N50 million was appropriated for this year's Abuja Carnival, but that only N42 million was released.
He explained that a better part of the money was spent on settling bills accumulated from the 2011 carnival.
The minister said that the 2012 Abuja Carnival was organised using goodwill and not necessarily cash.
Duke told the committee that the ministry had proposed N22 billion for the 2013 fiscal year out of which N150 had been earmarked for the Abuja Carnival 2013.
The minister said that if properly funded, the sector had the potential to employ a lot of Nigerians.
He said, "The culture and Tourism sector has the potential to employ everybody.

"Therefore if for any reason we find that there is a larger number of workforce in a particular area, we are willing to sit and discuss with people about possibilities of using tourism to engage as many people as possible."
Duke said that the sector was one of the top three employers globally, adding that waiting for budgetary allocations alone would not move it forward.
He said, "The master plan of Nigeria requires resources not just budget, but also money from the private sector.
``So, we need to find collaboration with private sector, especially with the media to stress the importance of mainstreaming this sector into the economy.''
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Committee, Sen. Ahmed Barata (PDP-Adamawa) expressed regrets that the Federal Government was not interested in funding the tourism sector due to the availability of oil in the country.

He, however, said that while the oil money touched only the lives of the elite, funds from tourism impacted on the lives of the common man.

He called on the ministry to organise a retreat with relevant stakeholders to analyse the relevance of the sector to enable government understand its relevance and increase its funding.

Eddy Murphy Makes Forbes List Of Most Overpaid Actors.Check out The Full List Here.

Once seen as a series of soaring precedents afforded to Hollywood's best and brightest, the massive paychecks given to high-profile actors and directors today have since grown smaller with the film industry's cost-cutting measures. However, for an elite group of individuals, their price tag remains as high as it ever was, but now a recent list has revealed a slow reversal has begun for those once deemed financially golden.
In a Top-10 list published by Forbes, Eddie Murphy has come in as the frontrunner for Most Overpaid Actor, having taken in with his recent films only $2.30 for every dollar appointed to him. The business publication sourced the list from its Celebrity 100 rankings, and compared the actors' last three wide releases -- in Murphy's case, “A Thousand Words,” “Tower Heist,” and “Imagine That” -- to the paycheck allotted to them for their work.
The undercut honors continue with a trifecta of romantic-comedy staples -- namely Katherine Heigl($3.40), Reese Witherspoon ($3.90), and Sandra Bullock ($5.00) -- and offers up an interesting question as a result: Was it just an unfortunate string of flops from each actress -- from “How Do You Know” to “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close” -- that prompted their ranking, or are these numbers in fact a realistic marker of their decreased appeal?
The answer likely lies somewhere in a combination of both, but an easier challenge applies nonetheless to Murphy's disappointing uppermost placement, even with his recent delightful pronunciation of “bobby pin” in “Tower Heist.” To see who else joined the actor in financial troubles, check out the full Forbes list here, which also features some names similarly well-placed, and others which may actually surprise a bit in their inclusion.
1. Eddie Murphy, $2.30
2. Katherine Heigl, $3.40
3. Reese Witherspoon, $3.90
4. Sandra Bullock, $5
5. Jack Black, $5.20
6. Nic Cage, $6
7. Adam Sandler, $6.30
8. Denzel Washington, $6.30
9. Ben Stiller, $6.50
10. Sarah Jessica Parker, $7

$700 Million of Abacha’s Loot Returned to Nigeria – Swiss Envoy

The Swiss government has announced that it has so far returned to Nigeria a total of $700million of the money stolen by the late military dictator, Gen. Sanni Abacha, Vanguard newspaper reports. The revelation on the status of Abacha’s loot was made by the Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Hans-Rudolf Hodel at a media briefing in Abuja. Hodel also hinted that his country had begun proceedings in Geneva against one of Abacha’s sons -Abba, for allegedly sponsoring a criminal organization but did not give further details. The briefing was in respect of an international seminar by the Switzerland embassy and the Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa, GIABA, and Combating the Financing of Terrorism.

The envoy however used the forum to deny the existence of fresh $1 billion being alluded to by former President Olusegun Obasanjo as still being held by the Swiss banks. Hodel stated that the Abacha’s loot case in particular compelled his country to adopt more stringent measures to combat illicit dealings in its financial sector.

Sexual Deposits- A True Life Narrative About Pimping In The Nigerian Banking Sector By Olisakwe Ukamaka Evelyn

As a new employee in Ecobank back in 2008, we were given targets from the Head Office – to ‘get’ deposits, like they were hanging on trees and all we were to do was ‘pluck’ the monies. Most women told me horrific stories of how they had to affairs with men and women alike, all in the name of getting ‘deposits’.

One particular incident stays with me:

I had walked into the office of this well known Independent Oil Marketer in my region – my church-member, to sell him my bank services, even though every other bank was offering same services. In his expansive office, he offered me this plush chair to sit on, and then he hastily went on to get me drink.

I sat calmly, as my heart thudded in my chest, even as I thought of what to tell him since all I had planned to recite had evaporated immediately I beheld his lewd smile. He wore that same slimy smile as he offered me the bottle of Maltina.

“My pretty baby, what brings you to my humble office?” He was frenzied with excitement. He brought a low chair and sat opposite me, his knees almost grazing mine. He didn’t give me chance to catch my breath and confidence. My stomach quivered in fear. He knew this game well.

“Sir..”

“Call me, Ken,” He quipped in. He was almost as old as my father.

“My name is Ukamaka Olisakwe.”

“Uka-baby, don’t be shy. Be free with me. Talk to me.” He quickly grabbed my shoulders, shook them, and then left me again. He launched into a lot of nonsense about how I looked and how he liked my outfit, especially my shoes. I squirmed all the while. “Don’t be shy.” He held my hands in his. I stared at him, and then pulled my hands away.

He asked how long I had been in the banking industry. I said I was new. He beamed. He would give me deposit that would shock my manager. He will make me the envy of all in my branch. Ha! “Do you know if I call your MD and told him I am going to give you N100, 000, 000 in fixed deposit you would be given double promotion? What is even your salary? Do you have an official car yet? I am going to shock, baby. Just ask about me. Do you know how many ladies ‘chase’ me for deposit? I just like you.”

I stared at my palms. My wedding ring glistened. I felt sad, then angry. I knew if I were a man he would not be this informal with me. He would have been respectful and might even have engaged me in a talk on politics or football or the financial markets. But I was a woman, and as expected, I deserved none of those ‘gentlemanly’ discussions. What do we know, we women? We should be seen as sex objects- as toys to be played with, that’s the best respect you could give to a woman. Right? Not as human equals, but as objects to massage men’s ego.

“Do you want to have sex with me?” I blurted.

The smirk disappeared. He looked a little shaken. Then he quickly began to regain the lost balance.

“Ehhh, you are one naughty girl..” The dirty smile crept out again.

“I am not naughty.”

He laughed out loud. “I like you. You are fearless.”

“I didn’t know I was supposed to be afraid of you.”

“No. No. I didn’t mean that. Just surprised by your boldness.” He was laughing still.

“You don’t want to see me bold, Sir,” I said. I wanted to tell him that only a coward, piss-poor-excuse-for-a-man would disrespect a woman this way. I wanted to scream in his face that only fools like him would turn an official visit as an opportunity to browbeat a woman into sex. Another woman might cower, but I am not another woman. I am Ukamaka. If I ever wanted to engage into an affair with you, I would, not because I was forced into it, but because I wanted it. But I quietly stood, patted down my dress and said:

“Thank you and have a nice day, Sir.”

I got to our office and told my supervisor, the good man, Ugochukwu Nwamara, of my challenges. He did the best thing for us – the marketers. He introduced to us the concept of ‘Team Marketing’. He made us confident. He thought us that women should be shown respect not because they should be pitied, but because they are Human Beings, too.
I wish other women were lucky, but it is sad that this modern day slavery is still practiced!

Nigeria's Billionaire Oil Tycoon Folorunsho Alakija Replaces Oprah Winfrey As The World's Richest Black Woman.

Talk show expert, Oprah Winfrey, who long reigned supreme as the world’s richest Black woman, has been replaced by new kid on the block, Folorunsho Alakija, according to Ventures Africa, an African business magazine and news service.

Folorunsho Alakija, a Nigerian billionaire oil tycoon, Fashion designer and philanthropist is worth at least $3.3 billion- contrary to a recent Forbes Magazine ranking which pegs her net worth at only $600 million.

Mrs. Alakija was born in 1951 into a large family – her dad had 8 wives and 52 children in his lifetime and she was the second surviving child as her mom was the first wife. She got married in 1976 to her loving husband Modupe Alakija and between them they have 4 kids, all boys who all schooled abroad and are all fully engaged in the family business.

She started out her professional career in the mid-70s as a secretary at the now defunct International Merchant Bank of Nigeria, one of the country’s earliest investment banks. In the early 80s, Alakija quit her job and went on to study Fashion design in England, returning to Nigeria shortly afterwards to start Supreme Stitches, a premium Nigerian fashion label which catered exclusively to fashionable wives of military bigwigs and society women.

In May 1993, Alakija applied for an allocation of an Oil Prospecting License (OPL). The license to explore for oil on a 617,000 acre block – (now referred to as OPL 216) was granted to Alakija’s company, Famfa Limited.

On her involvement in the oil and gas industry, she explained that through a friend she met while was still actively involved in the world of fashion [Maryam Babangida], they got involved in the business of oil. There was an oil bloc no one wanted at that time for several reasons; it was this same oil bloc they got allocated to. They were approached in late 1996 by the then oil giant Texaco who were sure the bloc had potentials as they had done their homework well, and after negotiations that spanned 3 months we all agreed on terms and the rest like they say is history. Later Texaco became Chevron and struck oil in commercial quantity and they were told the oil had been collecting in that field for 17 million years.

If anyone still doubts Alajika’s net worth as compared to Oprah’s, the editors at Ventures Africa also state that Alajika, owns more than $100 million in real estate, owns a Bombardier Global Express 6000 private jet that she purchased this year for $46 million.

Alajika spends her time and wealth taking care of widows and orphans and giving them hope.
