Jealous Nigerian Girl Pour Boiling Water Over Her Rival.

A Nigerian girl who driven by jealousy poured boiling water over her rival she believed bedded her boyfriend has been jailed for five years.
Edith Wiredu, 21, from Canterbury, told Terena Omoetuk, 20, they needed to 'talk' amid rumours the design student was sleeping with the lover from whom she had just split  but still cared for.
Canterbury Crown Court heard that when Terena denied the allegations  Wiredu a mother of one and  also a student, hurled the scalding water over her.
Terena was rushed to hospital with burns to a quarter of her body and has been left with scars across her chest and neck.
Jailing Wiredu, Judge Edward Connell said: 'This was a wicked and nasty offence and you should count it very lucky the injuries weren’t more serious.
'This was a wholly deliberate act committed in anger and designed to injure your victim.
'This is a particularly tragic case because you have made remarkable progress in your education. However, a probation report on Wiredu, claimed she had shown no remorse for the attack in November last year.
The incident happened after Wiredu confronted her friend about allegations that she had been cheating with her boyfriend.
She then walked into the kitchen area of their house, picked up a bowl of boiling water and threw it over her.
Miss Umoetuk told how she and fellow students had met and had been planning to attend a meeting of the university's Afro-Caribbean Society.
Instead, Wiredu quizzed her friend about having sex with her boyfriend Tinashe.Ms Umoetuk told the jury: 'I said: 'No'. I was shocked and confused. She asked me again and I denied it again.
'She then started getting angry and said that I had to start telling her the truth because he had told her. But I denied it again.
'She then left and went into the living room. I followed her and as I walked in, Edith appeared with a bowl of hot liquid and threw it over me. It went over my face and chest.'
She then claimed that as she fell to the floor, Wiredu grabbed her hair and tried to stamp on her head.
Wiredu, who was studying tourism, and has a three-year-old child, denied inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. But she was convicted unanimously by a jury.
Philip Rowley, defending, said: 'Clearly Miss Wiredu did not articulate correctly her feelings to the probation officer and she was surprised to read that she viewed herself as a victim, too.
'She wants it said that she does not view herself in that role and accepts the victim suffered deeply unpleasant injuries which will last a long time. She accepts her responsibility.'

Man Who Claims He Is Jesus Tattoos His Church Members With 666.(Video).

Members of Growing in Grace, a controversial religious sect headquartered in Doral have  said they were following the example of their leader, Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda, who has claimed to be Jesus and recently declared himself the Antichrist.
Critics have called De Jesus a cult leader who manipulates followers. Church members say he has brought them happiness and spiritual fulfillment. It’s a sign most Christians would shun, because for centuries the numbers have been associated with Satan. But for the 30 or so church members who branded themselves with 666 and SSS  the initials of De Jesus’ motto, “salvo siempre salvo,” or “saved always saved”  it’s a mark of their absolute faith in De Jesus.Church members say the symbol doesn’t connect them to Satan but rather to De Jesus’ claim that he has replaced Christ’s teachings with a new gospel. At the tattoo parlor, one woman wore a T-shirt with De Jesus’ picture and the phrase “The Lord Arrived” in Spanish. Others wore shirts and baseball caps marked with 666. Spanish rap music blared from a stereo in the back.
Scholars and critics of the movement say the tattoos offer frightening evidence of the influence De Jesus commands over his followers.

Khloe Kardashian Might Become The ''X Factor '' Host.

Khloe Kardashian may be doing her part to jump start the economy  because TMZ has learned she's the front-runner to become the "X Factor" host and we're told the suits want it to happen.
Khloe is definitely 1 among the women who tried out and is generally considered the best in the entire pack of host wannabes.

Khloe did a screen test that went over well.  The suits  including Simon Cowell (who has probably never worn a suit) -- believe Khloe makes the most sense in terms of audience draw, since they've already invested heavily in Britney Spears and Demi Lovato to attract young viewers.
Producers will make a decision soon.  The host won't appear until the live shows air, and that begins next month.
As for the odds ... as one well-connected source tells us, "There's at least an 85% chance she'll get the job."

Cobhams Asuquo's Mum Wins Supermom Reality Show.

Cobhams Mum.
Obesere's mum

Gladys Asuquo; the mother of talented singer, voice-over artiste and producer, Cobhams Asuquo, has emerged winner of the third edition of the Supermom reality show.
The ex-clerical officer in the Nigerian army edged out finalists Mrs Taibat Omobonike (Fuji artiste, Obesere’s mother) and (rapper, Skales’ mother) to win the grand prize of an all-expense paid trip to Dubai and N2m cash which she is expected to donate to a charity organization of her choice.
The first and second runners-up are also expected to be on the all-expense paid trip to Dubai while also getting N1m and N500, 000 cash respectively which would also be donated to a charity of their choice. Other runners up are Julius Agwu and Tony Tetuila’s mothers, who would get an appreciable cash prize too, the organisers, Digital Interactive Media, have announced.
Mrs Asuquo was introduced into the reality show in the 11th episode and it narrated how a blind kid turned his disability to a success story. Born like other normal children, Cobhams seemed perfectly normal until about three months after his birth when she began to notice his awkwardness.
She took him to the University Teaching Hospital in Ibadan from where they were referred to a hospital in Kano. There, her worst fears were confirmed; her son had been blind from the womb and nothing could be done to restore his sight. “It wasn’t easy watching Cobhams do chores around the house and run errands like my other children but I resolved to make him as independent and capable of achieving anything he sets hismind to do. I showed him where his box of clothes was and would ask him to go get his clothes after bathing him,” Mrs Asuquo says. These trainings came in handy when he had to move into the boarding school for his secondary education. As he grew up, his predilection for music started coming to the fore.
She recalls, “He would beat on anything he could lay his hands on so I encouraged him by buying him musical toys. Cobhams never went to school to learn to play any music instrument; I think it was just an escape route for him.”
Since it began airing on May 26th, viewers had keenly followed the sacrifices of 20 Nigerian celebrities namely Cobhams, Skales, Obesere, Foluke Daramola, Flavour Nabania, Mr. Olu of the Yahooze fame, Ice K, one half of the enduring duo, Artquake, Kennis Music act, Jaywon, Tony Tetuila and acclaimed female drummer, Ara. Other celebrities were On-Air-personality and consummate theatre artist, Yaw; actors, Femi Adebayo, Binta Ayo Mogaji, Kunle Afolayan; and comedians, Seyi Law and Julius Agwu. Like contemporary gospel artiste, Kenny Saint Best and bulky DJ Humility, the Nollywood producer popularly known as Mr. Prolific, also shared the story of his mother’s sacrifices while nurturing him to adulthood.
The 13-week show, which aired on the AIT network and primetime belts of many terrestrial television stations, came to an exciting end last weekend. While it lasted, the Supermom Celebrity Show emerged one of the most exciting and engaging experiences in the history of reality television shows in Nigeria.
Explaining the rationale behind the show, the executive producer, Sola Fajobi, says, “Our Superstars are human beings; they eat, they drink and do the things that we do. They did not fall from the sky. They were raised, groomed, trained and nurtured by mothers.
They were once kids and now they are celebrated all over the country because of their talent and achievements. We are confident of the fact that Nigerians really would love to see and share from the experiences of their idols and their mothers.”
Introduced by Fajobi’s Digital Interactive Media (producers of the Next Movie Star show), the Supermom show comes highly rated by viewers and pundits for being the first of its kind to give out a house as prize. A 61-year-old business woman, Folajogun Adesona, emerged winner of the second edition of the Supermom reality television show while Mrs. Nkechi Rapu who is based in Asaba, Delta State won the debut edition.
The first and second runners up got a brand new car and N1m and N500, 000 respectively. Supported and sponsored by Procter and Gamble, and Promasidor, Fajobi says, “The Season 11 of the show saw thousands of entries from people who just wanted to win the prizes and which turned out to be fabricated stories. Hence, we used the celebrity edition to confirm to viewers across Nigeria and beyond that The Supermom is just a way of showing appreciation to our great mothers

Patience Jonathan Might Have Gone For Tummy Tuck In Germany” – Report

Its not my business oh,but a new twist emerged last night over the ‘continuous incarceration’ of the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan in Germany. National Mirror reliably learnt last night that the First Lady might not be suffering from either food poising or ruptured appendicitis as widely claimed after all. The Presidency source said that “the wife of the President might have gone for full body work that included tummy tuck in Germany.”
Abdominoplasty or “tummy tuck”, according to Wikipedia, is a cosmetic surgery procedure used to make the abdomen more firm.
The surgery involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen in order to tighten the muscle and fascia of the abdominal wall.
This type of surgery is usually sought by patients with loose tissues after pregnancy or individuals with sagging after major weight loss.
A wife of a former president underwent similar medical treatment a few years ago.
The President is said to have been informed about the new twist and may have given his nod for a socialite and wife of a retired top military officer, who is a close confidant of the First Lady, to be questioned.
A source in the Presidency said the socialite woman, who is a confidant of Mrs. Jonathan, might be questioned over her role in the medical state of the First Lady.
“Mr. President is worried about the role of a friend of his wife in the whole health saga. The woman knows so much and she may be questioned on her role and involvement in the health status of the First Lady,” a source said.
The First Lady is currently recuperating in a German hospital, Horst Schmidt Klinik, in Wiesbaden.
The late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua was treated for kidney ailment at the same hospital before he eventually died.
“All I can tell you is that Mrs. Jonathan undergone surgery and he is in a stable condition. She is out of medical danger,” a Presidency source told National Mirror yesterday.
The Presidency still kept mum on the nature of Mrs. Jonathan’s ill-health and whereabouts.

Olusegun Adeniyi's Hard Talk ''Jonathan And His Social Social Media Friends.''

“Your Excellency, I scan the Nigerian media everyday and I also do same for American and British media and I am aware our media is not as cynical and contemptuous of their government and the man in power as the British or American media
Without conducting a poll or a content analysis, Dr Goodluck Jonathan has declared himself the most criticized president in the world. That I guess is what he is being told by some favour-seeking politicians and ‘media consultants’. But from experience I know why the people who peddle those tales to the president do so: one, to make his media managers look bad; two, to bring in their own men if possible; and three, to make money. Before I however conclude on what President Jonathan’s real problem is, I want to share my experience with the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua on this same issue.
In my first year working for him, I was aware that many people were telling my late principal how his efforts were not appreciated by Nigerians because of media opposition. Both the Minister of Information, Mr John Odey, and myself were blamed for this situation. These were, however, mere whispering campaigns until the day I got a document from the president directing me and Odey to read before meeting with him to discuss it. The document in question was a media strategy paper from one of the aides retained from the President Olusegun Obasanjo era. Even though the man wrote that it was strictly a secret paper, the president forwarded copies to myself and Odey.
The paper brought to the fore the challenges I faced and which I think any serious journalist in government would face. My understanding of an effective media strategy was for government to address the issues critics were raising and that was the approach I adopted which my late principal appreciated even though there was also pressure on him that by not “fighting back”, I was not showing enough commitment to his administration. This was the same argument advanced in the ten-page paper which the author apparently never imagined would come back to me.
The “foundation” to the submission, according to the man, centered on the fact that “Nigeria is today being led by a visionary, self-less and committed leader but how many Nigerians know about him or his vision? Whereas government has done so much and achieved positive results in so short a time, most of the achievements are not known to the public and other critical constituencies, largely because of the barrage of negative press coming out of the Nigerian and international media—both in hardcopies of Nigerian newspapers and other internet media.”
According to the official who incidentally was brought to the villa by Obasanjo, and is a Yorubaman, a good media manager should be able to sell Yar’Adua’s “gentle mien and approach (dialogue and consensus building) in contrasts to President Obasanjo’s aggressive and combative approach” aside Yar’Adua’s “personal integrity and simplicity which Nigerian masses can identify with and the ambitious vision 20-20-20 can be positively projected for maximum redefining.”
After the long preamble, the official now recommended a Media and Information Management Team which would require “co-option of good writers drawn from editors of Nigerian newspapers” to be domiciled in his office! There were other recommendations that would require huge capital outlay for both domestic and international propaganda.
When I got a copy of this paper with a directive that myself, Odey and the man should meet with him (Yar’Adua) four days later, I could not contain my anger as I sent a memo back to the president that same day. I am reproducing excerpts from my memo which underscores my own understanding of what I consider to be the role of a journalist in government.
“I have received an invitation to a meeting with Your Excellency on Monday with an accompanying document on ‘Media and Information Management’ and I hasten to say that the meeting is not only unnecessary, the motive behind it is unfortunate. I wish to inform Your Excellency that the so-called strategy paper is a rehash of an eight million Dollar proposal from a consultant promoted by…to me upon assuming office last year but which I turned down because I believed then, and even more so now, that that is not the way to go.
“While I will in a separate paper counter each of the false assumptions which inform the conclusion that there is information management deficit, I wish to reiterate my stand that on balance, this government and indeed President Yar’Adua has a relatively fair media image. While it can be better, the approach being proposed is unnecessary, wasteful and will at the end be counterproductive.
“This ridiculous idea of selective newspaper cuttings (of negative media news reports or articles) to the president has a purpose: either to portray me as incompetent or create the image of a media siege so that some consultants (and necessarily huge resources) can be deployed to combat this exaggerated problem. While some people can bring in ‘experts’ who they assume have the magic wand to ensure that the media begin to celebrate the president and the government without any criticism, the problem is that the only beneficiaries of such self-deluding enterprise are the consultants and their promoters, not the president or the government.
“Your Excellency, I scan the Nigerian media everyday and I also do same for American and British media and I am aware our media is not as cynical and contemptuous of their government and the man in power as the British or American media. While some people have issues with the style of government, there is still a general perception that the president is a man of integrity and has his plan but rather slow in his approach. Because some key issues like power emergency/Niger Delta Summit/Infrastructure are yet to be resolved, I am aware of current media challenge. But I also know that this can be an advantage because when the media create low expectations, as they do now, results will be easy to see and appreciate as it would ultimately happen in this instance. On the other hand, when you pump the people up with expensive media propaganda, then you create problem when results don’t match expectations…”
After reading my memo, President Yar’Adua cancelled the meeting earlier called and just directed that myself, Odey and the man should iron out the issue. Not surprisingly, the man felt so small at our meeting chaired by Odey and three weeks later, he was sacked by the president. But it would not be the end of the intrigues I would survive in the villa nor of the constant bombardment of the president with insinuation that the media was his problem.
Now that President Jonathan is also facing a barrage of criticism, he has promised to be “the most praised president” by 2013. If I understand that statement clearly, what it means is that the critics are justified because the president has not met their expectations and that by next year, his performance would have been such that they would begin to sing his praise. But we all know that is not what President Jonathan meant to convey. He feels he is being unfairly attacked by the media.
That, however, is not true. The fact is that the conventional media is not more critical of President Jonathan than his predecessors. The real problem this president is facing is from his social media “friends”, the crowd he carefully cultivated and set out to please as the first “Nigerian Facebook President”. Unfortunately, he ought to have been warned that the social media can cut both ways. So if he in 2010 enjoyed public adulation at the expense of the “Yar’Adua cabal”, it is naïve not to understand that he is playing in a jungle where rumour peddling, hate mongering, bitter retorts, malicious gossips and innuendoes are also fair games.
It is, however, patently dishonest for his handlers to argue that those who criticize or hurl personal abuse at the president do so because he is from Niger Delta (or whatever other ridiculous reasons being invented). No, it is because he is the president of Nigeria while his implacable traducers even enjoy attacking him for the simple reason that he has made them to know that they are getting to him.
What makes the situation so pathetic is that those close to the president refuse to locate when the real problem began, especially with regards to genuine supporters who now feel disappointed. It all started in January following the sudden withdrawal of fuel subsidy on the first day of the year. Not only was the timing inauspicious (with many still in their villages) there was also the question of trust since government officials had announced that the policy (which by the way I wholeheartedly endorse) would not commence until the second quarter of the year.
To compound the situation, revelations began to come from the probe of fuel subsidy payments in 2011 of how billions (in Dollar) of public funds were practically shared by some unscrupulous marketers and their government collaborators, all under President Jonathan’s watch. Then, on a rare interview on national television which was watched by many Nigerians (at home and in the Diaspora), he angrily proclaimed that he doesn’t give a damn about what people feel on his refusal to publicly declare his assets. With all these, the president frittered away enormous goodwill though there is still time to make amends not with the critics but with the silent majority of Nigerians who only desire good leadership and appreciate genuine efforts.
What Dr Goodluck Jonathan must, however, come to terms with is that presidents don’t crave momentary applause as he seems to be doing; they target history. To his credit, the power situation has improved significantly but the things that would earn him enduring legacy in the sector (or in any other sector for that matter) are not necessarily decisions that would provoke instant praise. The way things are in Nigeria today, the president is like a man charged with leading an orchestra. To succeed, he must learn to back the crowd.
But here is the greater lesson for President Jonathan: Asked on Monday how he took actor Clint Eastwood’s bizarre attack on him (characterised by an empty chair) at the Republican Convention, President Barack Obama said: “One thing about being president or running for president—if you’re easily offended, you should probably choose another profession.

Two Aides Of Governor Rochas Okorocha Fight Publicly.

Governor Rochas Okorocha

WORKERS in the Governor’s Office, Owerri, Imo State witnessed a drama of the absurd yesterday as Governor Rochas Okorocha’s Special Assistant, Imo Water Board, Mr. Chimezie Duru, and the Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr. Ifeanyi Nwachukwu, engaged in fisticuffs.

While the exchange of punches was on, some junior workers in the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff were too shocked to separate the duo.
It took the intervention of a Government House photographer to stop the combatants from the display of shame, which took place at the Open Quadrangle, opposite the Pentagon Building.
It is not clear what led to the fighting but a source aid that “some aides of the governor have been quarreling over juicy offices”.
Duru, formerly the Special Assistant on Information Technology and Statistics and Okorocha’s kinsman, literally turned Nwachukwu into a punching bag, slapping and punching him.

In return, Nwachukwu, who formerly headed the Ministry of Public Utilities, bit Duru’s hand, almost drawing blood.
After the photographer succeeded in separating them, other workers appealed to the duo to give peace a chance.
They were immediately ushered into the office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for a meeting.
When contacted, Nwachukwu said he was in a meeting while Duru said: “I have been officially directed not to comment on the matter”.
Later, Nwachukwu sent a text message to reporters: “I was never assaulted by anybody.

Ambassador Iyorwuese Hagher Campaigns For The Need To Consider A Female In The Benue State Guber Race On Facebook..Please read his full text here

Former Nigerian Ambassador to Mexico and  Canada,a Former Minister of Power and Steel and a Former Head Department ,Theatre Arts at UNIJOS ,posted this on his facebook wall,he is starting a campaign to pick a Female Guber candidate for Benue State ,please read his full text here.

Governorship Of Benue; Global network of friends
I write to thank you for your reactions on my posting. The values and qualities I outlined in my earlier post, the late Aper Aku had at least 90%. And so they have been there in our mind for both men and women, I have received three nominations. Three distinguished ladies.from each of the Senatorial districts. Since no woman has been either governor or deputy Governor of the state,we are starting on a clean zonal slate. I shall close nominations on on Friday. And the names of the Global network candidates will be announced.Their supporters can then campaign for one week. Thereafter our friends poll for the best candidate. The rest would be easy, we would find a political platform for her, find money through our resources for logistics and campaign for her. We must then make our standards the only qualification for all Governorship aspirants to aspire to.If we don't raise the bar now, then when wil
l be the best time. If my friends will come up with a woman or any man who fits about 60% of these qualities and values, I will gladly mentor and support him or her to be a formidable candidate and god willing could be Governor. And why not?

A friend of a friend said I was being cynical, because I was too old to contest. Pathetic reasoning. Nobody in our network should use sexism or agism to discriminate against anybody who has the qualities above. In informed circles, age is just a number. This is why in our qualities we are more concerned with the state of the persons health than biological age. Obasanjo is still alive while Yar Adua who was 15 years younger than him died in office.Physically Yar Adua was older. I can never be the Governor of Benue state in my lifetime after, HE Gov. Suswam. Even if new states are created, he and I are from zone A, and Sankera and Shitile. I respect the zoning and rotation system. I respect the rights of others to aspire to anything I am entitled to.

I apologize to my other Nigerian, African and international friends who may feel bored by all these. Charity begins at home. I will continue to stand up to global social justice and peace, but I need to also guarantee that my immediate base is not lost out of the new wind of change that is challenging old unworkable ideas that have held us prisoners to our prejudices. I apologize on behalf of a young man who was so out of touch and politically incorrect who seems to cast aspersions on the integrity of women. This is no longer acceptable in civilized communities. It is a shameful thing.

So over to you my Benue friends. After this, we should move to other sates as well and receive nominations. We are more powerful than we think. We cannot solve todays problems with the same archaic ideas that created them.
God bless us.

President Goodluck Jonathan is said to be angry about the leakage of information concerning the sickness of his wife, Patience.Investigations by our correspondent in Abuja on Tuesday indicated that the President and those closed to him had planned to keep Mrs. Jonathan’s trip “a top secret.”Mrs. Jonathan is presently in German, where she was said to have undergone surgery for ruptured appendicitis. But the Presidency had denied that the President’s wife was ill, saying that she was only resting abroad. Her spokesman, Mr. Ayo Osinlu, said the President’s wife travelled out of the country to take a “moment’s rest.”It was learnt that the President had thought that his wife whereabouts would be kept under wraps by those considered to be his close associates of Patience aids and few security officials, who it was gathered, knew about her movement.Investigations further showed that in order to avoid leakage of information on her trip, only those considered to be “very trusted” aides knew about it.However, when the story was published by a online medium, Saharareporters, the President was said to be angry that there were moles among those considered to be trusted aides.
A Presidency source said, “The President is angry that the story could still leak when a very few staff of the President and security men knew about the travelling.“He had thought that the movement could be kept secret as planned, but was astonished when news started filtering on the Internet about the sickness that made her to travel. At some point, he felt bad that despite the overhaul of the security system in the Villa, the movement of his wife would still not be kept secret.”It was learnt that the entire security system in the Presidential Villa had been overhauled more than three times since the President assumed office. Before now, the President’s aides were said to have thought that some foreign media houses working at the Presidential Villa were responsible for the leakage of information in the Presidency.
However, the postage of some photographs on the Internet and online medium were said to have changed the thought. It was learnt that though the President had not ordered any probe, but “is likely going to order the overhauling of security in the Villa.”Presidency sources said the President felt that some “elements who took the photographs of a son of late President Umaru Yar’Adua in the Villa with Ak47 and some new naira notes of one thousand denominations might still be in the Villa.”The President, it was further gathered, might direct that some aides of his aides and that of his wife be either transferred or removed.
