Sex Harasment Charge Against A Nigerian Delegation Mars Jonathan's CHOGM Tour.

It’s Dominique Strauss Kahn All Over Again! SaharaReporters has learned that one of the esteemed members of the oversized travelling delegation of President Jonathan Goodluck was turned in by a hotel maid – in the style of the infamous Strauss Kahn – after he attempted to bed the hotel worker against her will.
The incident took place at the meeting of the Commonwealth Head of Government in Australia this week. The offended woman reported the incident to senior staff at the hotel and the Nigerian delegate was sidelined for the week from official duties.
The suspected rutting dog was not identified although his CHOGM accreditation was reportedly revoked.
A CHOGM 2011 Taskforce spokesman said organisers were aware of the allegations. ``We are aware that a complaint was made by a staff member at Hyatt Regency Perth,'' he said.
``We understand that the matter has been resolved.''
Authorities declined to take official action saying that “allegations about harassment in the work place are an issue related to equal opportunity and are not a police matter.'
President Jonathan’s 120 member delegation is currently shacked up at the five-star Hyatt Regency in Adelaide Terrace, Perth. The incident was the second to draw negative coverage for the Nigerians when President Jonathan was reportedly missing in action at the Nigeria/Australia Mining Roundtable, an important meeting . He was replaced by Nigerian Mines and Steel Minister Musa Mohammed Sada.

“Getting a land in Omole Estate (Ikeja, Lagos) alone is N100m. When you look at the house, especially the finishing, it is over $2million. When people speculated that the house was worth N300 million, we had not even finished the interior. What do you think is the cost of a mansion that has a swimming pool, six living rooms, ten master bedrooms, all fully furnished? It’s far more than the speculated N300million”.

Death By Hanging: Rev King’s Appeal Suffers Setback.

The appeal by founder of Christian Praying Assembly, Rev. Chukwuemeka Ezeuko (Rev. King), who is challenging the judgment of an Ikeja High Court, which sentenced him to death by hanging for the murder of one Ann, a female member of his church, suffered a setback, Wednesday, due to irregularities in the appeal.
At the hearing in the appeal, yesterday, it was discovered that there are two different appeals by Rev. King, one dated June 23, 2008 and another December 1, 2010 respectively.
The court also noted that the respondent’s (Lagos State Government) brief of argument, responded to the appeal filed on December 1, 2010 without seeking leave of court to do so.
Counsel to Rev. King, told the court that the appellant filed his brief of argument on June 24, 2008 against the judgment of the lower court delivered on January 11, 2007, but, the court was surprised when the Solicitor General, Lagos State Ministry of Justice, Lawal Pedro, told the court that the respondent’s brief of argument was dated April 21, 2011 and filed April 22.
Presiding Justice, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa, noted that the respondent was out of time since the appellant’s brief of argument was filed on June 24, 2008, stressing the need for the respondent to regularise his brief of argument and adjourned the matter till April 4, 2012.
Rev. King’s counsel, had told the court that sometime in 2008, the appellate court granted leave to the appellant to amend his notice of appeal and file additional grounds within seven days, contending that the lower court on its own, raised fundamental issue in its judgment and addressed same without input of parties in the suit…………

Amy Winehouse Drank Herself To Death

A coroner’s inquest into the death of British chanteuse Amy Winehouse has determined that the troubled singer died of alcohol poisoning.
A coroner ruled that Winehouse died from “Death by Misadventure,” saying Winehouse “had consumed sufficient alcohol … and the unintended consequence of such potentially fatal levels was her sudden and unexpected death.”
Winehouse had five times the legal limit of alcohol in her system at the time she died. Additionally, numerous bottles of vodka were found strewn about her bedroom.
It was confirmed that Amy had been off drugs for three years (as evidenced by drug testing), and she had been sober for two weeks.
Her doctor, who testified at the inquest and saw her the night before she died, said she was “very determined but said she wanted to quit her own way and had objected to psychological therapy.”

The Festival Of Lights In India ''DIWALI''. Knockouts And Bangers Everywhere.

Diwali is one of the biggest festival of Hindus, celebrated with great enthusiasm and happiness in India. The festival is celebrated for five continuous days, where the third days is celebrated as the main Diwali festival or 'Festival of lights'. Different colorful varieties of fireworks are always associated with this festival. On this auspicious day, people light up diyas and candles all around their house. They perform Laxmi Puja in the evening and seek divine blessings of Goddess of Wealth. The festival od Diwali is never complete without exchange of gifts. People present diwali gifts to all near and dear ones.

The exact day of the festival is decided by the position of the moon. According to the Hindu calendar, Amavasya or 'no moon day' is considered as the perfect day to celebrate Diwali. This dark night comes after every fortnight and in the month of Kartik, it marks this festival of lights and diyas. As per the English calendar, the festival generally comes in the month of November and December. For all Hindu people, the festival holds an imperative meaning since the festival is reckoned with Lord Rama's victory as the King of Ayodhya after his return to the kingdom from 14 years of exile along with his wife Sita & brother Laxman after killing the demon, King Ravana. The festival is celebrated by lighting diyas and candles to drive away the darkness of Amavasya.

Deepavali is a festival where people from all age groups participate. They give expression to their happiness by lighting earthen 'diyas' (lamps), decorating the houses, bursting firecrackers and inviting near and dear ones to their households for partaking in a sumptuous feast. The lighting of lamps is a way of paying obeisance to god for attainment of health, wealth, knowledge, peace, valor and fame.

It is one time in the whole year that children volunteer to leave their beds long before the day begins. In fact, the traditional oil bath at 3 a.m, is the only chore that stands between them and the pre-dawn adventures. They emerge, scrubbed clean to get into their festive attire, and light up little oil lamps, candles and scented sticks(agarbathis), the wherewithal for setting alight crackers and sparklers.

On Diwali night, little clay lamps are lit in Hindus homes, but now a days colored electric lamps are also used. What is the significance of lighting a lamp? There is a logical answer to this question. It is through the light that the beauty of this world is revealed or experienced. Most civilizations of the world recognize the importance of light as a gift of God. It has always been a symbol of whatever is positive in our world of experience.
