Another Jungle Justice In Warri.Man Burnt To Death For Stealing Necklace.

Just some few days ago, we heard the story of how four University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) students were brutally murdered in Umuokiri village, Aluu, Rivers State.
The murdered students, Chiadika Lordson, Ugonna Kelechi Obusor, Mike Lloyd Toku, and Tekena Elkanah, all part two students, were murdered in cold blood over alleged theft of a laptop computer and a blackberry phone. It was a horrible sight for all and those who saw the video took their anger to the online community demanding justice for the Aluu4.

The police were quick to arrest the suspects as there was video evidence showing the babaric nature of the youths. Well, the same thing has happened again and this time in the oil city, Warri, Delta state.

The man was allegedly to have stolen a neck chain in one of the popular markets and the people who caught him felt the best way to go about the issue was by burning him to death. The faces of the muderers are shown in the video (but Youtube has pulled it down).

One thing is common in the two events, 1) They were accused of doing something against the law. 2) They were burnt to death.

I know some people would say this is the best way to go about issues like this because of their personal experience with people like this, but then again we are humans and not babaric, besides theres a reason why we have the police and the law. Let us put things in place to stop this from ever happening again.

Doctor Who Travelled To UK With HIV-Infected Blood Sample From Nigeria Sacked.

A consultant lost his job at an NHS hospital after carrying a sample of HIV-infected blood in his hand luggage while flying from Africa to the UK, a High Court judge heard.

Tubonye Harry - who was a genito-urinary specialist at the James Paget Hospital in Gorleston, Norfolk - was returning from Nigeria, where he did private work, Mr Justice Burnett was told.
The judge said the sample should have been packed in the aircraft’s hold and Dr Harry had breached regulations designed to prevent passengers being exposed to infection.
Dr Harry had also broken rules by opening a package containing the sample at home instead of in a laboratory, the judge added.
He was dismissed by James Paget bosses earlier this year.
'The transportation of human blood is governed by strict regulations,' said Mr Justice Burnett.
He added: 'On a return journey from Nigeria in December 2010, Dr Harry accepted that he carried two samples of blood, one infected with HIV, in his hand luggage.
'He said that they were appropriately packed in accordance with the regulations, but agreed that the regulations required them to go in the hold. He said that he had been unaware of this.
'The second aspect is that he opened the package in which the samples had been transported at home. He then took them to the laboratory. The regulations require that samples be opened in the laboratory.
'The rationale behind these strictures is not difficult to divine. Should an incident occur in which a phial of infected blood is broken there is a risk that people might inadvertently come into contact with it and be exposed to infection.'
Details of the case emerged as Mr Justice Burnett ruled on a dispute between Dr Harry and the General Medical Council (GMC) - which registers doctors - at a High Court hearing in London.
Dr Harry, who also faced a number of other allegations relating to his work, has been suspended pending the outcome of GMC disciplinary proceedings, the judge was told.
But he argued that the GMC’s 18-month interim suspension was unfair and unnecessary - and the judge agreed.
Mr Justice Burnett terminated the suspension, which prevented Harry from seeking alternative work, saying it was 'disproportionate'.
Dr Harry qualified as a doctor in 1979 and had been a consultant since 1996.
He carried the infected blood from Nigeria in 2010 and lost his job at the James Paget in January. Hospital bosses had then referred the case to the GMC, the judge was told.

Man Conceals Cocaine In Pendants And Female Belts..

Oluigboka Chukwuemeka Emmanuel thought he had cleverly concealed about 2.4 kilogrammes of cocaine in pendants and female belts.
But his luck ran out when he was intercepted by Nigeria’s National Drug Law Enforcement officials.
The 33-year old suspect had just disembarked from a flight from Brazil when he was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed international airport in Lagos, southwest Nigeria. Click to read more.
“During search, powdery substances that tested positive for cocaine were found in his bag. It took several hours to extract the cocaine from the pendants because of the complex method of concealment,” said Mitchell Ofoyeju, NDLEA Head of Public Affairs.

The agency’s airport commander, Mr. Hamza Umar, disclosed that the drug was factory packed inside assorted pendants. He described the mode of concealment as unusual.
“This mode of concealment is strange and it is the first time of discovering drugs inside jewellery,” he said.
Umar explained that the drugs were industrially packed in ear rings, buttons, necklaces, bangles as well as in female belts.

“We had to forcefully open them to recover the drugs. The entire quantity of cocaine found in the jewellery products weighed 2.472kg. One arrest has been made in connection with the seizure,” Umar said.
NDLEA said preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, who had lived in Brazil for over five years, is believed to be working for a suspected Brazilian-based drug syndicate.
The suspect was quoted as saying, “I needed money for the burial anniversary of my late father. As the breadwinner, everybody is looking up to me for the sponsorship of the anniversary. I have lived in Brazil for over five years but I have no money to undertake this important family responsibility. My interest was the 2,000 euros they promised to pay me”.
Oluigboka is married and has a child. He hails from Imo State. The arrest took place last week.

ShoeMania .Check out the craziest shoe every made..........

This shoe is called   ”Scary Beautiful” created by South African artist Leanie van der Vyver and Dutch shoe designer René van den Berg. It is the the most dangerous pair of shoes ever made. The massive heels appear to look backward on the foot, so if you wear them, your foot is pointing straight down the back. To make things even more uncomfortable, the shin leans against the front ‘heel’ for balance. I have been wondering if Lady gaga can walk in this shoes.
no words yet.
Ladies will you wear this shoe?

Is This Another Barbaric Judgement? 2 Nigerian Students To Die By Firing Squad In Benue State.

Justice Theresa Igoche of the Makurdi High Court, on Tuesday sentenced two students, Vershima Kaachi and Akaazua Akpen, to death by firing squad for armed robbery.
The convicts were arrested on the eve of Christmas in 2007 for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery, contrary to Sections 5(b) and 1(2) of the Robbery and Firearms Act, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 1990.
.
In his testimony, the victim of the offence, Jonathan Usenge, told the court that five armed men came to his house, attacked and robbed him of some valuable items on that day.
He stated that the robbers collected his Nokia 1600 phone valued N12,700.00, two torch lights valued N350.00 and a sum of N16,500.

He said the convicts were armed with guns and a hacksaw, and that the clothes they wore on the day of the robbery, his stolen phone and the hacksaw were recovered from them during police investigation.
The prosecution called three witnesses while the accused persons testified for themselves and also called three witnesses.

In his submission, counsel to the convicts, Mr Cletus Ujah, argued that the prosecuting counsel had not proved the allegation against his clients beyond reasonable doubt.

Ujah insisted that the victim was inconsistent in his testimony, arguing that the prosecution's evidence could not be said to be overwhelming to nail his clients.

He further argued that the prosecution failed to tender the hacksaw claimed to have been recovered from his clients before the court which, he said, amounted to withholding evidence.

But the prosecuting counsel, Mr Obande Idikwu, argued that the prosecution had made a case to warrant the conviction of the accused persons.

Idikwu submitted that from the evidence, it could be deduced that there was an agreement to commit an illegal act, which was pursued to a logical conclusion.
Delivering judgment, Igoche held that the prosecution had proved its case against the convicts and found them guilty as charged.

In an allocutus, Ujah pleaded for leniency for the accused persons, pointing out that they were each the only sons of their parents and young boys with a promising future ahead of them, noting that they had no records of previous conviction and were looking very remorseful, and urged the court to temper justice with mercy.
But the judge said the punishment prescribed for offenders under Section 1(2) of the Robbery and Firearms Act was death by either hanging or firing squad, pointing out that it was subject to the governor's discretion.

Bobbi Kristina Confirms Engagement to Nick Gordon.

Whitney Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina, confirms that she is engaged to Nick Gordon, her "adopted" brother. The 19-year-old broke the news to her shocked-looking family in a sneak preview of their upcoming Lifetime reality show, The Houstons: On Our Own.

Bobbi Kristina and Gordon have been raised like brother and sister since Houston informally adopted him when he was just 12 years old. The pair, who have "always been close," according to a source for Us Weekly, have been rumored to be living as a couple since Houston passed away in February. They were involved in a nasty car accident last month, allegedly following a fight.

Bobbi K was spotted rocking a huge diamond ring this past spring, prompting rumors that she and Gordon were engaged. Through a rep, the couple vehemently denied the rumors, until the release of the clip, which shows Bobbi nervously telling her family, "we're engaged!"

Bobbi Kristina's father, Bobby Brown, tied the knot himself this past June when he married his manager, Alicia Etheridge, in Hawaii. Bobbi Kristina was not present at the nuptials, and is said to be estranged from her father. The drama continued when Etheridge suffered a seizure reportedly brought on by diabetes in September, and was treated at a Florida hospital.

He also mentioned the White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African-Americans and that "the numbers of working poor who don't have health care, who are African-American or Latino, are higher than the general population…the 30 million people who are going to be able to get health care for the first time…are going to be African-Americans."

2face, D’banj Announce First Ever Collabo, As D’Banj Aims Grammy.

ALL is set for the first ever collaboration from 2face and D’banj. Last week, 2face and D’banj disclosed that a video has already been shot for the Don Jazzy-produced song titled ‘Feeling good.’ They then went on to sing some snippets, raising anticipation for its release.
The development is sure a good one for Nigerian music industry just as hopes are high for D’Banj winning a Grammy in the near future. The young, hardworking multi-award winner said he is working real hard to attain a Grammy. “I’m so excited, not just for me, but for the whole of Africa. Two years ago, I said it’s time for me to take my music global because I’ve won all the awards back home.” With his mentor, the producer Don Jazzy, he created the biggest record label in Nigeria, but “now I want to win a Brit award, a Grammy, he said.

Optimistic, he continued further that “Yes, we have MTV, yes, we sell millions of records and have endorsement deals, but we’ve never felt as if we’re part of the same music industry as the rest of the world – the Kanye Wests, the Adeles and Tinie Tempahs.

I see what I’m doing now as the bridge that we’ve been looking for from Africa to the mainstream world. I want others to see the potential in my country, other than our oil and natural resources. That’s what’s making me move. I feel like a new artist.”
