Michael Johns, a contestant on the seventh season of American Idol, has died at the age of 35, according to THR.The singer-songwriter reportedly died from a blood clot in his ankle on Friday (August 1).In case you weren’t aware, Michael placed eighth on American Idol in 2007.After appearing on American Idol,Michael released an album Hold Back My Heart in 2009 and an EP Love and Sex, which included three songs, in 2012.Michael is survived by his wife Stacey Vuduris, who he married in 2007..

Adamawa state acting Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reiterated his commitment towards confiscating illegally acquired property and cash from officials of former Governor Murtala Nyako’s administration.
Speaking at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) stakeholder’s meeting in Yola Friday, Fintiri said his interim administration is setting up a judicial panel that will work with the federal anti -graft agencies to trace and recover funds stolenfrom the state.
“This debt has been added up and the government in its wisdom has decided to create a separate account for these liabilities. Anybody who has done this will not go unpunished. We will set up a judicial panel of inquiry, whoever used our monies to build houses, we would have those houses sold and the monies recovered and returned back into the state coffers. Every penny of Adamawa State must be recovered,” Fintiri said.
He explained that the administration has opened a separate account for N82 billion worth of liabilities which was established after adding up the N12.6 billion debt and N70 billion debts from unsettled pension, monies owed contractors and other funds allegedly diverted to non-viable projects.
Fintiri said the state government is set to inaugurate the judicial panel of inquiry saddled with investigating and recovering every kobo of state funds siphoned by officials under the former administration.

Another delegate to the ongoing National Conference, Prof. Muhammad Nur Alkali, is dead.Prof. Alkali, who is one of the six representatives of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, died at his residence in Maiduguri on Friday night, August 1, 2014.He was 68 years old.
A Professor of History, he was a two-term Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri (1985-1992), Director General, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS (1993-1998) and Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee under the administration of the late Gen. Sani Abacha.He was a member of the Committee on Insecurity in the North East (the Boko Haram Committee).He has since been buried in Maiduguri.
Dr. Dawha’s career in NNPC began in 1988, from where he rose in ranks in 2005 to become the Executive Director, Commercial Division of Eleme Petrochemical Company Limited, Port Harcourt in 2003.
Before joining NNPC, Dr. J. T. Dawha lectured at the Borno State College of Science and Technology from 1978 to 1984 before becoming a Director at Borno State College Basic Studies in 1985.

Amalaha was Nigeria's first gold-medal winner in Glasgow and would have been the youngest woman to win a weightlifting title in Games history.Teenage Commonwealth Games weightlifter Chika Amalaha has been stripped of her gold medal after failing a drugs test.
The Nigerian, 16, won gold with a combined total of 196kg in the women's 53kg category.The Commonwealth Games Federation said Amalaha has been "disqualified" and her result "nullified" following her positive 'B' sample test.
Amalaha was provisionally suspended from the Games after an 'A' sample was found to contain banned substances.
The samples contained amiloride and hydrochlorothiazide, which are both prohibited as diuretics and masking agents.
The CGF said in a statement: "The Commonwealth Games Federation has determined that Nigerian weightlifter, Chika Amalaha, has committed an anti-doping rule violation and has fully suspended her from the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow."
Dika Toua from Papua New Guinea has been awarded the gold medal with Indian duo Santoshi Matsa and Swati Singh claiming silver and bronze.
Amalaha was Nigeria's first gold-medal winner in Glasgow, equalling the Games snatch record of 82kg with her first attempt before lifting 85kg on her third.
Her combined total of 196kg was also a Games record, and she would have been the youngest woman to win a weightlifting title in Games history - according to the International Weightlifting Federation.
Amalaha was the first athlete to fail a test at the Games, but Welsh 400m hurdler Rhys Williams and 800m runner Gareth Warburton both missed the competition after being charged with anti-doping rule violations.
Both athletes deny knowingly taking any banned substance.
The World Anti-Doping Agency recommends a standard two-year ban for a first doping offence.
