Ex militants group urges Buhari´s critics to apologise to Nigerians for misinformation

The National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators (NCNDE-A), has urged those who peddled false reports on President Muhammadu Buhari´s health to apologise to Nigerians for misinformation.

President Muhammadu Buhari
The president of the group, Mr Eshanekpe Israel, made the call in a statement on Saturday in Abuja, following President Buhari´s return to the country.

Buhari left for London since May 7 where he had been receiving medical attention after formally transferring power to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as required by the Constitution.

“Those who played God in their mockery of the president’s ill health should humbly apologise to Nigerians for heating up the polity without justification,’’ Israel said.

The official said that such critics wished Buhari death because they wanted the norms of corruption and impunity to continue unabated in the country.

He said having waited for the announcement of President Buhari´s death in vain.

“The country’s enemies found occupation in his ill health, rolling drums of evil sounds and spewing deliberate falsehood to incite the people against the administration,’’ he said.

He emphasised that the Buhari administration, though inherited a battered economy from its predecessor, was poised to take the country to a greater height by ensuring true development.

Israel said that the Buhari-led administration should therefore, be supported by all well-meaning Nigerians.

The ex-militant, while welcoming the president back to the country, said that Nigerians who voted massively for him in 2015 had been vindicated.

He said if the reverse had been the case, members of the opposition party would have organised a national crusade to mock Nigerians of good will.

NAN reports that the President is expected to speak to Nigerians in a broadcast on Monday at 7.00 a.m.(NAN)

Buhari’s return: Lagos lawmakers task President on campaign promises

Some Lagos lawmakers have urged President Muhammadu Buhari to intensify efforts in fulfilling other campaign promises following his safe return from medical vacation abroad.

The lawmakers, who spoke in Lagos on Saturday, expressed gratitude to God for the life of the Buhari.

The president had in May travelled to London for medical attention, a development which had sparked pockets of protest especially by a group led by Charlie Boy.

The Chairman, House Committee on Information, Strategy, Publicity and and Security, Mr Tunde Braimoh said: “We thank God for the safe arrival of Mr President, it portends a very great hope and good omen for the country.

“Now that he is back, a lot of grounds must be covered, we want him to reciprocate the love of Nigerians for him and the confidence repose in him.

“Many Nigerians were patient, prayerful and also wished him well all along. Efforts should be redoubled to make Nigerians enjoy better life and also feel the impact of his government.”

According to Braimoh (APC-Kosofe II), the President remains a lucky man,who is enjoying great love and admiration of the people.

Also speaking, Mr Segun Olulade, the Chairman, House Committee on Health, commended the President for heeding advice to disengage from governance and travel abroad for medical attention.

Olulade, representing Epe Constituency II, also urged the President to work hard to fulfill all his campaign promises.

“He has done what is needful by treating himself. This is a welcome development. We expect to see more of his campaign promises being fulfilled.”

He said many Nigerians believed so much in the President’s ability to alleviate their sufferings, pointing out that the hope of such people should not be dashed.

Mr Setonji David, the Chairman, House Committee on Physical Planning and Urban Development, also told NAN:“We thank Almighty God for bringing our President back to the country alive. This is a cheering news. We want Mr President to bounce back for the masses.”

Buhari left Nigeria on May 7 for the second round of his medical treatment in London after receiving 82 rescued Chibok School girls, who were abducted by the Boko Haram terror group since 2014 under the ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

Buhari, who arrived at 4:35 p.m., is expected to address the nation on Monday. (NAN)

Grace Mugabe granted diplomatic immunity after 'assaulting South African model over her two sons'

South Africa has granted diplomatic immunity to Zimbabwe’s first lady, Grace Mugabe, allowing her to return to Harare and avoid prosecution for the alleged assault of a 20-year-old model, Reuters has reported quoting a security source.

News about the immunity came as South African police put border posts on “red alert” to prevent her fleeing.

The police had indicated she would receive no special treatment in the case involving Gabriella Engels, who says Mugabe whipped her with an electric extension cable for partying with her two sons in a hotel.

The source said Grace Mugabe failed to turn up at a Johannesburg court hearing on Tuesday because of concerns she could be attacked.

The country has a difficult relationship with its northern neighbour. It is home to an estimated three million Zimbabwean exiles who regard President Robert Mugabe as a dictator who has ruined what was once one of Africa’s most promising democracies.

Although he is also widely reviled in the West, Mugabe is seen by many Africans as the continent’s elder statesman and a hero of its anti-colonial struggles.

A senior government source said on Friday there was “no way” Grace Mugabe, 52, would be arrested because of the diplomatic fallout that would ensue from Zimbabwe.

Indeed, the 93-year old president himself arrived two days earlier in Pretoria for a regional southern African summit this week to help resolve his wife’s legal problems.

The government source accepted the view widely held by legal experts that Grace Mugabe was not entitled to immunity because she was in South Africa for medical treatment, and said the government was expecting her immunity to be challenged in court.

Engels’ mother Debbie, who released photographs of her daughter with gashes to her head requiring 14 stitches, said it would be “very sad” if Grace Mugabe was allowed to leave.

However, her daughter’s legal team which includes Gerrie Nel, the prosecutor who secured a murder conviction against Olympic and Paralympic track star Oscar Pistorius would counter such a move, she said.

“Gerrie Nel and the team have contingency plans,” she told Reuters, without elaborating. “They will run with it.”

Afriforum, an Afrikaans rights group that Nel joined in January after quitting as a state prosecutor, said it would be illegal for Pretoria to give Mugabe immunity and branded the plans a “disgrace”.

“The government has two responsibilities: one, to protect its own citizens and two, to act according to the law. And the granting of diplomatic immunity would transgress the law,” chief executive Kallie Kriel said.

Meanwhile, Grace Mugabe has claimed she hit the model with an extension cord in an act of self-defence, IOL News reports.
Her two sons were not spared a beating either.

Mrs Mugabe has told South African officials that she was in fact the victim in the attack that happened last Sunday in a flat in Sandton. This allegedly took place in the presence of numerous body guards.

This is according to highly-placed sources privy to the case. “She is adamant on the issue of protecting herself because she feels she was attacked. She says she was attacked by the victim and that she also has her own injuries which she is not going to publish in the media,” said one source.

Bryan Okwara said his fine boy looks has caused him serious problems.

Former Mr. Nigeria, Bryan Okwara, is a victim of stereotyping, and due to his good looks, women don't take him seriously.

Speaking with TS Weekend, Okwara said:

"My biggest challenge is for God to give me the strength not to be a lady's man. .

There is something you need to understand about being a lady's man. Yeah, you are a lady's man and you can't run away from it, it is something nature has endowed you with. .

But there is a flipside and it is that people tend to stereotype you and hardly take you seriously. Any woman that walks into your life will just say 'oh Bryan, we have seen your type before; are you not a fine boy?'

And you are like 'what do you mean by that?' It is a good thing that you walk into a room and every woman is ogling, but there are people that actually see the other side of life and attach importance and value to relationships, and they will not really like that after a while. .

I want people to like me for who I am and not judge the book by its cover." When asked whether it has affected his relationship with members of the opposite sex, he said: "I would say I have lost friendships that way. Some people just see me and say 'Bryan, come on, I know your type' and I am like 'oh sorry, you don't even know me'."

I’m “President in-waiting”, says Fayose

Ekiti State Governor Peter Ayodele Fayose is famous for his controversies. On Saturday, ahead of President Muhammed Buhari’s arrival from London,  Fayode declared himself as Nigeria’s president in-waiting.

He spoke at the Jolly Nyame Stadium, Jalingo –the Taraba State capital during the funeral service of former Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai.

The Ekiti governor came when all other dignitaries were seated and the occasion had begun.

He waved at the gathering, acknowledging cheers which briefly interrupted the service.

He wore a white garment with brief arms and white half-shoe to match.

As he strode in, some people initially had mistaken him for former President Goodluck Jonathan, in spite of their stark difference in body frame and height.

Leading Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State and Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong to the podium to offer their condolences and tributes, Fayose stirred a melodrama.  Twice, he called himself president in-waiting.

He humorously thanked the moderator, GT Kataps for giving him the chance to step on the podium.

“Thank you for giving me the chance. Maybe I am the president in-waiting,” he said. There was a thunder of laughter and cheers from the audience.

As he made his speech, members of a women choral group began to make noise. “Women should not make noise, especially when a president in-waiting is talking,” he said. Again, he was cheered up by fans.

He based his tribute on “courage and fearlessness” which he is known for, which were also attributes of late former Governor Danbaba Danfulani Suntai.

But when it was the turn of the Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong to speak, he told Fayose that there was no qualm since his presidency was a waiting type.

Lalong said: “Thank God you are a waiting president. You will wait for my President, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari; he is returning today; you will welcome him.”

It was a few hours after Lalong’s speech that President Buhari arrived the Presidential wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.

Lalong is of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while Fayose is of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Fielding questions from newsmen, Fayose said he attended Suntai’s funeral because the deceased was an achiever, and particularly when Governor Darius Ishaku of the PDP won his election in the court he celebrated the victory in Ekiti too.

Ex-Taraba Gov. Suntai buried amidst eulogies, tears

The remains of the former Governor of Taraba, Danbaba Suntai was laid to rest on Saturday in his hometown, Suntai in Bali Local Government Area of the state amidst tears and eulogies.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a cross section of Nigerians, who were touched by the late governor’s kind gesture and sterling leadership qualities, could not hold their tears as they gave their testimonies of his legacies.

One of them, Gov. Darius Ishaku of Taraba, described the late Suntai, as an epitome of humility with a great sense of humour and passion for the development of the state.

Ishaku, however, thanked all Nigerians, especially those who stood by the late governor during his trying moment and in death.

He said that the love they showed him was a great source of strength to the family and the people of the state.

The governor urged Suntai’s family to be consoled by the legacies and virtues of the late icon, who he said would be remembered by people for what he believed and stood for.

Earlier, Gov. Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti urged the people of Taraba to imbibe the virtues of Suntai.

Fayose said they should imbibe his virtues and continue to promote the good things he stood for while alive for the development of the state and country.

In his remarks, Gov. Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe said the late governor did well for the people of the state.

The President of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN), Most Rev. Musa Philibus, at the funeral service, enjoined Nigerians to live a life of service to humanity.

Philibus said that Nigerians should bear in mind that all must die to give an account of their stewardship to God.

“There is glory and happiness in death when we live a life that pleases God.

“We should think about pleasing God rather thinking of how to bring others down in order to get to the top,’’ he said.

NAN reports that the funeral was attended by dignitaries from all walks of life, including Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau and the immediate past governor of Benue State, Dr. Gabriel Suswam.

Others were the First Executive Governor of Taraba, Rev. Jolly Nyame, the pioneer military governor of Taraba CP Ambrose Afolahan, representatives of the governors of Adamawa, Benue and Nasarawa as well as some National Assembly members among others.

The deceased, who was aged 55, died on June 28, in the USA where he was recuperating from the treatment he sustained injuries when a private aircraft he was flying crashed on October 25, 2012, in Yola.

He was the governor of the state between 2007 and 2015.

Diary of a broke Lagos girl

For the umpteenth time that day I checked my account balance and again, wondered how in the hell I managed to spend all of my N160,000 salary in barely two weeks.

As if that wasn’t enough, I had debts to last me a lifetime. I cringed at the thought of running into Tola, who I still hadn’t paid for the two new shoes I recently bought. Oh God, where was I going to get N36,000 to pay her?

I could have bought six solid pairs of Okirika ones from Yaba for half that price. I really hated being an onigbese, so the thought of all my debts were enough to keep me up at night. I stared at my mobile banking app in anguish, my N2,000 balance stared back at me, unrepentant.

How was I supposed to cope with all these bills and still take myself to work for the next two weeks?

I didn’t even need to wonder too much what was responsible for my brokenness at this stage. ASOEBI! Geez, if one more friend decides she’s getting married this year, I would certainly be attending with an old asoebi I’d worn for someone else’s wedding.

Just this month alone, I’d spent almost N50,000 on just two people’s asoebi, forgetting that I’d just spent N80,000 on this new weave I’d been eyeing for a while.

The temptation to say: ‘Fuck adulting, I’m going back to Asaba to be live with my parents’ was becoming more and more difficult to resist with each passing day.

The fact that I had at least finally managed to buy myself a car, was the only thing I was proud of at this point.

In a few months time, I’d have to pay my rent again. Sigh. I really wasn’t made for this life.

Maybe I should just say yes to one of the rich married men that were on my case, as that’s all I seemed to be able to attract: rich married men or broke mama’s boys that couldn’t afford to feed themselves, talk more take care of me. Okay, that’s an exaggeration. I just wasn’t feeling none of the men I was meeting these days.

Sigh. All I need at this point is a miracle. Fast.

Senate warns Pencom, CBB, ICPC nominees not to resume

The Senate has warned nominees for the leadership of three Federal Government institutions not to resume work until their nominations are confirmed.

The affected nominees are Ali Usman, who was nominated as Director General of the Pension Commission, Dr. Mohammed Isah nominated as Chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, and Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye, the Chairman nominee for the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission.

The upper chamber of the National Assembly alleged that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, as Acting President while President Muhammadu Buhari was on medical vacation in London, gave the directive asking the nominees to resume pending the confirmation of their appointments.

The chamber, however, stated that the directive was illegal.

A statement signed by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, on Saturday night read in part: “The leadership of the Senate has been inundated by enquiries from individuals from across the country, who want to know whether the statement from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to the effect that the nominees into the headship of PenCom, Code of Conduct Bureau and ICPC should resume work immediately pending their confirmation by the Senate was as a result of an understanding between the executive and the legislature.

“We will like to advise the Acting President, who was quoted to have given the directive for the resumption of the nominees, that the directive was illegal and not right. The Senate will not support any action that is not in line with the law.”

Photos: Housemaid Gets Lavish Wedding Ceremony After Her Madam Adopted Her For Being Humble.

Humility the say pays!
Here’s a touching story of a Nigerian woman, Ada Ujaligwa who changed the life of her house girl! – Ngozi met her new mother as an employer but touched her heart and remained loyal to her – 17 years later, she gets a lavish wedding for being respectful.. Ngozi was also helped in becoming Ireland citizen.

Here’s what Ada Ujaligwa wrote on Facebook;

On the 5th of August 2017, my legally adopted daughter Ngozi Udenwa got married to the man who was specially handpicked for her by God himself….. A wonderful young man I must say

Some of you already know a bit about how she became my daughter but the majority of you have no idea and I wish to share the amazing story of our journey together as mother and daughter…..

In the year 2000, barely 2 months after I gave birth to my first child, by sheer happenstance I got a second househelp….. My first househelp had gone home to see her family briefly and I needed someone to cover for her until she returned….. My parents got me the second househelp to help me with my new baby so I could face my studies squarely, seeing that I was a 5th year medical student at the time. That second househelp was Ngozi Udenwa my daughter….. She was only to stay with me for a short while, just a few days but she ended up staying with me until the 5th of August 2017….. More than 17yrs in total!!!

When she came into my care, she was a lovely, humble, lowly, young innocent beautiful girl whose only ambition in life was to be sent to school….. She had completed primary school but was yet to commence secondary school….. She was very passionate about going to secondary school at all cost, and I assured her that not only would she go to secondary school, she would also go to the University and be a huge success under the care of my husband and I….. To the glory of God’s mighty name Amen

And so our journey started….. I quickly observed that she was a very humble, patient and kind hearted person….. Ngozi approached every task you gave her with equanimity…. She was never flustered nor irritated….. She always did her tasks thoroughly and with great conscience ….. She was also particularly honest, trust worthy and hard working, she hardly ever complained about anything and when she did, I always took her seriously, knowing that for her to talk, it must be something of great significance ….. A very mild mannered, meek, respectful, tolerant and peaceful young lady….. She was a pleasure to have in my home….. She treated my children like she was their own mother, she would cry when they were sick, I was amazed at the love she showered on them whether I was around or not, her behaviour towards them was always the same…. She treated them exactly the same in my absence as she did in my presence….. And that was one of the best things about her….. She was always without any form of pretence….. Ngozi did not know and still does not know the meaning of “eye-service”….. With her what you saw was what you got whether she was being watched or not….. The consistency in the goodness she exudes greatly endeared her to my husband, myself and all the members of our families who had the opportunity of dealing with her….

Everyone admired the dedication with which she loved and cared for my children and my home….. She is the kind of person you can leave your kids with and go to Timbuktu and sleep with your 2 eyes closed, confident in the knowledge that your children would be cared for as if you were the one caring for them yourself…. As the kids grew older, they testified to the goodness of Aunty Ngo as they all refer to her …..

My husband and I enrolled her in secondary school as soon as she settled into our home….. And she proved to be an intelligent, ambitious and focused young lady to our collective delight….. She knew what she wanted and she set out to achieve it….. By the time she came to our home, her biological mother was already deceased, a few years into her secondary education, she also lost her biological father….. And became an orphan biologically….. As time went on, we decided to relocate abroad and we decided to legally adopt her and take her with us….. By then she had lived with us for 4 years and we were pretty confident that we were doing the right thing and that with God on our side, neither of us was going to regret the move to make Ngozi our legally adopted daughter, with all the rights and privileges that go with her newly acquired status….. The adoption process was rigorous but we succeeded in the end and we brought her with us to Ireland….. My husband and I promised her that if she remained as loyal, respectful, hardworking and peaceful as she has been, then we will ensure that she becomes a university graduate and an Irish citizen, God willing.

She became a very important member of our family, providing the much needed robust domestic support while she was enrolled into the Irish educational system to work her way into the tertiary institution here….. Through us she became an Irish citizen  and soon got a good job while she continued to study…..To the glory of God’s mighty name Amen….. And this year she graduated from the University  ….. I am so grateful to God and proud of her for achieving this great feat because I know just how much she wanted this….. And less than a month after she graduated, she got married to her Prince Charming….  …. Talk about everything coming together for good to those who love God, who work according to His purpose…..

Ngozi could have given us hell in Ireland if she wanted to…. Infact she was advised to do so by some unscrupulous elements when she was about to leave Nigeria with us …. But she CHOSE to give us peace and joy and in return she is reaping peace and joy…. She played a key role in maintaining the stability of my home and now she will enjoy great stability in her own home, as it has pleased God….. We have become so close as mother and daughter that I hardly remember that she was once my househelp….. We have a deeply confiding relationship and my children are as much her children as they are her siblings too….. They are mad about Aunty Ngo and won’t hesitate to fell anyone who stands in the way of her happiness….. It gives us tremendous joy as a family to see her become a success in both her personal and in her professional life…. She is both personally, professionally and economically fulfilled…. Chineke daalu ….. My husband and I are so elated that through the grace, mercy and favour of God, we fulfilled our promise to her ….. Our promise to her that she will become successful in all aspects of her life if she remained good has been fulfilled today…. Holy Trinity in one God we bow down and worship you for enabling us to make good on our promise to her after she delivered her own part of the agreement.

My family and I travelled en masse to Nigeria this July in order to send her forth, honour her and celebrate with her as she commenced her new life as a married woman…. It is our fervent prayer that God continues to reward her goodness and loyalty to us even as we have tried in our own little way to reward her through the grace, mercy and favour of God Amen

From my Househelp  My legally adopted Daughter Irish citizen  Working class girl Graduate Beloved wife of a good man….. It took 17 yrs but she’s finally where she truly wants to be……Thank you Jesus….. Amen   ….. She was patient….. Very patient…. But she now has it all, against all odds….. Chineke daalu

Humility, patience and a great sense of loyalty made her what she is today….. Humility attracted God’s favour into her life, patience helped her wait for the full manifestations of God’s blessings and her loyalty to us was rewarded with our loyalty to her….. Seeing Ngozi go from a lowly impoverished househelp to an economically viable university graduate who is now an Irish citizen and a happily married woman has added more years to my life because of the sense of fulfilment it affords me…… I am indeed deeply gratified…. Chineke daalu

Humility is the mother of all virtues….. If you want to be served….. You must first serve!

….. With patience and humility!!!
