Police nab man posing as female sex worker in Jos.

[File photo].(Not the real character).

The Plateau Police Command said it had apprehended a 25 year-old man for allegedly posing as ‘female sex worker’ in Jos.
The command’s spokesman, ASP Terna Tyopev, told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Jos that the suspect, identified as Micheal Atseng, was arrested on July 13 at Gwom Guest House, Hwolshe, at about 9:30pm.

“The hotel management alerted us that someone is lodging in their hotel who poses as a woman but with physical features of a man.
“We mobilised our men and at exactly 9:30 pm, he was accosted and had been in our custody, ” Tyopev said.

Tyopev, who described the suspect as a “habitual homosexual’ said in 2016, he was arrested by  soldiers but returned to his normal business after he was released.
He said the suspect, who usually disguised as a female prostitute, had lured many men in need of sexual satisfaction to take him in.
The spokesman described the suspect’s activities as ‘criminal’, adding that he was being thoroughly investigated.

“In the first instance, posing as someone you are not to deceive the public is criminal because only God knows how many men must have fallen victims of this act.
“Also, the law prohibiting homosexuality is still in force in Nigeria and anyone caught must be made to face full wrath of the law.
“We have had a lot of armed robbery cases where people are robbed at gun point, and people with such character also have the tendency to commit such crime.
“So, investigations are ongoing to unravel the real motive behind this act, to see if he is involved in other criminal activities, and to also forestall this bad trend in Plateau, ” he said.

Tyopev called on those who patronise commercial sex workers, to be extra careful
He urged the public to report to the police, the presence of such persons in their vicinity to help curb criminality in the state. (NAN

Details of the messy scandal about the woman accusing popular stylist, Toyin Lawani, of ‘stealing’ son.

A messy scandal is brewing on Instagram between popular designer, Toyin Lawani, and another lady, Stella Okafor, who claims she is the biological mother of Ms Lawani’s son, Lord Maine.

Ms. Lawani is a popular Lagos-based stylist and fashion designer whose clients include Tiwa Savage, Dbanj and Davido.

The drama started when Ms. Lawani discovered that Stella had put up Lord Maine’s photo on her Instagram page, and she immediately asked fans to report the page to Instagram.

But Stella hit back at the designer, alleging that she gave birth to the toddler in Abuja and was separated from the boy from birth.

Ms. Lawani had the child three years ago when she got pregnant for a younger lover, Lord Triggs.
The two called it quits in 2015.

They named the child, Oluwatenola Jermaine.

Stella, who addresses herself as @okafor.stella_Breakthrough_prayer on Instagram, is now demanding a DNA test to confirm the paternity of the three-year-old.

According to her, Lord Maine was hers before Toyin “abducted” him. According to her, Ms. Lawani, stole her son at birth.

“If you think by intimidation I will leave my kid for you, you have something else coming. I am not letting you use my baby for your meal ticket,” the woman said, referencing Lord Maine’s recent modeling deal with Payporte.

A furious Toyin Lawani replied her: “When They see you Doing Great, They will want to distract you, with Baseless lies. Don’t ever get distracted from your goals, success comes with a lot of Devils, you have to be strong enough to fight for what’s yours. That was then this is now, I’m a warrior, been through hell and back, so nothing can ‘jomiloju mo.’ No weapon fashioned against me and my family shall prosper, now I see why a lot of celebrities hide their kids off social media, it’s a crazy place too.”hen PREMIUM TIMES contacted Ms. Lawani, she said, “There are too many psycho people out there, she said her son is four while my son is 3 years old. She said she gave birth to the baby in Okija Forest. I had my baby in Queens hospital UK. She sent messages to several companies that endorsed my son, claiming she will take them to court and me. But they are not stupid they just laughed, that’s what happens when the grace of God is on you. No man can stop your greatness if you have.”

The mystery woman still has the boy’s photos splashed on her Instagram.

Daddy Freeze reacts to Seyi Law and Kemi Olunloyo's online spat

Media personality Daddy Freeze has aired his two cents on the online spat between ace comedian,Seyi Law and controversial journalist,Kemi Olunloyo. He wrote

After immense pressure from many quarters to drop my two cents, I finally bow. Here is my take.
-
Although I respect aunty Kemi a lot and stood by her throughout her struggle, I totally disagree with her involving Sheyi's kid daughter.
That child had absolutely ZERO fault in this and doesn't deserve to be brought online and ridiculed. I believe, being the good woman that I know her to be, she will offer Sheyi Law and apology for involving his child.
-
If after that, they choose to continue with their online brawl, who am I to judge them or take sides? They are both adults that I know and respect and I won't interfere in their fracas, as long as no innocent children are involved! ~FRZ

Venus Williams Suffers Humiliating Wimbledon Tennis Defeat

Venus Williams ost the Wimbledon final on Saturday and it couldn’t have come at a worse time as she is facing a serious “court” issue that doesn’t involve tennis rackets.

As Radar readers know, Venus was slapped with a wrongful death lawsuit on June 29 after she allegedly slammed into Linda and Jerome Barson‘s car on June 9, and Jerome, 78, died.

Although police first alleged that Venus was “at fault” for the wreck after it was claimed that the athlete drove through a red light in Palm Beach County, Fla., triggering the accident, authorities later rescinded that conclusion, as Deadspin reported. After looking at surveillance video, the police released a statement, stating, “it has been determined the vehicle driven by Venus Williams lawfully entered the intersection on a circular green traffic signal.”

Venus was not cited or charged in the crash but the wrongful death lawsuit  still seeks unspecified damages.

Now Venus, 37, has suffered a humiliating defeat at the esteemed British tennis tournament Wimbledon, losing in the women’s final to Spaniard Garbine Muguruza, 23, who had been ranked 14th seed entering the contest. Venus was trying to be the oldest Grand Slam singles female winner ever, but it wasn’t to be.

Although the first set was close, the second set was brutal and one-sided as Muguruza bested Venus 7-5, 6-0 in an hour and 17 minute match, as the Daily Mail reported.

Just thirteen months ago, Muguruza had beaten Venus’s sister Serena, who is now pregnant, at Roland Garros, but experts never expected the Spaniard to best tennis legend Venus at storied Wimbledon.

Muguruza, who is in her early 20s, said afterwards about her rival, “She is such an incredible player. I grew up watching her play. It is incredible to play her in the final.”

Venus was gracious in the loss, saying, “Congratulations Garbine, amazing.

“I know how hard you work and I’m sure this means so much to you and your family. Well done today, beautiful.”

Although Venus put on a brave face, could stress have played a role in Venus’ shocker loss?

Venus, who previously won the tournament five times, had earlier broke down in tears during a Wimbledon press conference when asked about the tragic car crash.

At that time, Venus said, “There are really no words to describe, like, how devastating and yeah,” Williams said after winning her first-round match at Wimbledon. “I’m completely speechless. It’s just — yeah, I mean, I’m just …”

At that point, her voice stopped, and the tears started flowing. After a few moments of silence Venus admitted, “Maybe I should go”—and she did, leaving the presser.

JAMB To Resolve Exam Issues Before Releasing Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Saturday said it would henceforth ensure the resolution of all exam issues before releasing results of its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), to avoid cancellation.

JAMB’s Head of Public Relations, Mr Fabian Benjamin, said this in Bwari, FCT, while speaking on the outcome of the mop-up examination results.

He disclosed that the results of supplementary examination conducted by the Board on July 1 in 170 centres for 85, 000 candidates across the country had been released.

He explained that the result was delayed to ascertain there were no hitches all the centres that the supplementary exam was conducted.

“The results had been ready as usual; we release results two hours after examination; this delay was because we wanted to take our time to clear all issues.

“This is also to ensure that all the CCTV at centres we conducted mop-up examinations were adequately fixed; we do not want situation where we release results before thinking of cancelling it.

“What we want to be doing now as we have started with this mop-up examination, and will be doing in 2018, is to ensure all issues are resolved before releasing results.

“It is our view that there is no need rushing to release results; it is better to do whatever is supposed to have been done, before we release the results,” he said.

He urged candidates yet to receive their supplementary examination results, not to panic, saying that no result from the mop-up examination was outstanding.

He said that the breakdown of the 2017 UTME result could not be published at the moment since the Board was yet to conduct exam for foreign candidates.

“We are still writing exam and it will be unfair to publish the whole results when people are still writing.

“We just rolled out forms for foreign centres, so once we finish that, which is not going to take long, we will do the analysis and come to a conclusion,” Benjamin said.

85, 000 candidates of the 1.7 million enrolled for the 2017 UTME had registered late for the exam as a result of some challenges.

Don't Call Me Matthew ,Am Not A Tax Collector like Matthew in The Bible- Obasanjo.

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has warned Nigerians to stop addressing him as Matthew or see his eyes red.

He said his Christian name, Matthew, should be removed from his name and that henceforth he should be officially addressed as Olusegun Okikiola Aremu Obasanjo.

The former head of state said he does not want to be called Olusegun Matthew Okikiola Aremu, according to Leadership reports.

Obasanjo said he should no more be addressed by it because he is not a tax collector like his biblical namesake.

Accordingly, he adopted only Olusegun Okikiola Aremu as his names, stressing that names have lots of connotations in African setting.

He said anybody who does not want to see his (Obasanjo’s) eyes red should stop calling him Matthew.

He stated this in Abuja on Friday, July 14 at an event organised by the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) in commemoration of his 80th birthday.

Obasanjo clocked 80 years in March.

His words: “When I was born in my part of Nigeria, the system was that after eight days, you must be given a name, and for people to know that you were born into a Christian family, you will be given one Hebrew name.
“My mother and father decided to name me Matthew but when I grew up, I started asking myself the meaning of Matthew.
“Not only does it not have meaning as long as I am concerned, the biblical Matthew is a stupid tax collector. Anybody who does not want to see my eyes red should stop calling me Matthew.
”He commended the NSE presidential system of election and governance, wishing that it could be introduced into Nigerian politics.
Also speaking, the president of NSE, Engineer Oliver Tagbo Anyaeji noted that Obasanjo successfully initiated and pioneered the establishment of an engineering and technology university (Bells) as well as the state-of-art presidential library in Ota, Ogun state, which is considered as first of its kind in Africa.
“While it will be pretty difficult to bring to the fore all the achievements of this world acclaimed achiever, I wish to mention that President Obasanjo initiated the National Integrated Power Project (NIPP)in 2005 and directed by policy that Nigerian engineering firms must get at least 25 percent of exhausted project scope,” he stated.

"Silence on Buhari’s ailment fuelling destructive rumours"

Amid growing speculations about the health condition of President Muhammadu Buhari, the President of Civil Liberties Organisation, Wilson Durueke, has described the silence on the matter as bad for the country.

Durueke, who spoke in Owerri on Thursday, noted that the mystery surrounding Buhari’s ailment and its management might have negative implications for Nigeria.

According to the CLO President, Nigerians need to know the health status of their ailing President because of the strategic position he occupies.

He said, “First of all, Buhari is the President of Nigeria, any objection is secondary. I am of the school of thought that we ought to know his health status. It will do no harm, but it will help to calm the situation and reassure a lot of people. I don’t subscribe to the view that we should keep silent because rumours are destructive.”

The activist noted that since Nigerians had not been getting updates on Buhari’s health condition, it had encouraged speculations, which he described as bad for the interest of the country.

While urging the Presidency to take away pride and start giving information on the health condition of Buhari, Durueke recalled that some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, who were in the opposition in 2009, had demanded that the health condition of the late President Musa Yar’Adua must be made public.

On the controversy surrounding the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu, Durueke urged the Presidency to allow the National Assembly to carry out its constitutional duties without further interference.

I don’t own a bullet-proof car – Edo state Governor, Obaseki

The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, on Friday said the reason why he is not using a bullet-proof car was because of paucity of funds in the state.

He said his administration was cutting down on the cost of governance in alignment with economic realities in Nigeria.

“I am the governor of Edo State. I am entitled to a brand new bullet-proof car, but I have not bought it because we cannot afford it,” Mr. Obaseki said when the state branch of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria, ANAN, visited him at the Edo State Government House, Benin City.

Mr. Obaseki said he was using the official vehicle left behind by his predecessor.

The governor, who said he was avoiding ‘wasteful spending,’ added that his administration has contracted a lady mechanic who was refurbishing old government vehicles.

He also denied that the state government owed pensioners.

The governor called on the local government councils in the state to provide accounts of their income and expenditure profile for the past 10 years “to enable the pensioners understand how the local government money was spent.”

The state Chairman of ANAN, Felix Ahonsi, commended Mr. Obaseki on his effort towards human and infrastructural development in the state.

Mr. Ahonsi said ANAN was ready to collaborate with the government in the area of accounting, auditing, and training.

Sina Rambo | Photo Credit: Instagram – @sinarambo

Singer Sina Rambo, the son of newest member of the Upper Chamber Ademola Adeleke has said that his father’s dance moves made people call him Jackson, in reference to late pop icon Michael Jackson.

He added that he cannot be embarrassed by his father’s dancing.

Adeleke became a viral sensation after a video of him dancing surfaced on the internet.
Adeleke won the Osun West bye-election after his elder brother Isiaka Adeleke, who occupied the position died of mysterious circumstances earlier in the year.

Speaking to Punch’s Saturday Beats, Sina Rambo said:

When the spirit of the Lord comes upon my heart, I will dance like David danced. Ashamed? I cannot be embarrassed with the way my father danced. Look, my father will not change for anything! He’s been dancing since the 80s or why do you think they call him Jackson?

Trust me at every family party, we dig it out but he ends up winning because he just never stops. Jackson! Baddest.

But don’t be misled; he is a man of extreme wisdom who knows how to conduct himself at all times. There is time to celebrate and there is time to work. I’m sure he will definitely do a great job serving his country to the best of his ability.

OPEN DISCUSSION ! Would you ask your spouse to return N10m gift from an ex-lover?

Some people have argued that there is no harm when two ex-lovers remain friendly even after each had gone ahead to get married. Saturday Punch asked Nigerians whether they would ask their spouse to return a N10m gift from their ex

She’ll definitely send it back and I will supervise it – Efemena Ozore

I don’t care how much the money is or of what benefits it might be; she is definitely sending the money back to him and I would make sure I supervise that. The money is suspicious as the saying goes,, nothing goes for nothing in this world we live in. No matter how noble the intention of the ex-lover is, he would feel owed. He wants attention and when he gets it, he would even want more. My wife being indebted to him, will be unable to shake him off easily. Secondly, she would lose my respect and I would not want that to happen.

She will have her selfish reasons – Adelakun Adebukola

I will ask him to return the money because they say one good turn deserves another. She is definitely giving him such a huge amount of money as a gift for her own selfish reason and she would ask for it back on the long run. But if my husband has to be in need of the money at that time that she sent it and there is no other place he can get it from, I would allow him keep it. I would have to trust my husband to some extent before I can allow him keep such money.

The money will benefit both of us -Oluwaseun George

I’d trust my wife enough to transact any form of business or cordiality with her ex. She can receive anything from him because they were once more than friends who shared similar interests but don’t anymore. The money will benefit both of us and any form of pride wouldn’t. So I won’t ask her to do such a thing. It’s foolishness if I ask her to return it. I would not know if she had kept quiet about it and for her to tell me, I believe she meant no harm. If my knowledge of the money came from her, we are keeping it.

I will monitor his moves henceforth – Adedayo Opeoluwa

Absolutely not, he is not going to return the money because he didn’t beg for it, it’s a gift. She obviously knows that he is married before sending it in the first place. Although, she might want to use that as a means to make them come back together but since I haven’t caught them cheating, I would just have to monitor his moves henceforth.

She will return it – Oluwatosin Adepoju

I would not ask her to return the money. Although, I would be jealous at first and be kind of suspicious but I would have to call her, talk to her and make findings whether they are still having anything together again. Such a person can’t just be giving that kind of expensive gift to an ex like that.

We’re keeping the money – Adekola Adeola

I would never ask him to return the gift because she felt like giving him the money so why should I ask him to return it?  I won’t be suspicious because before I would get married to a man, I should be able to trust him and so I trust my husband. As long as I am alive, it won’t even work if her plan is to make them have an affair together again. But as for the money, we are keeping it.

He will start giving her expensive gifts – Christopher Udeh

I would ask her to return the gift back to him because he is an ex lover. If I allow her to keep the gift, he will start giving her more expensive things that would make them come back together regardless that she is married to me. Most women are more attracted to material things and that could bring more harm to the marriage and I don’t want such to happen to mine.

We will share the money 60/40 – Nofisat Andoyi

I can never ask him to return such money to her because it’s a gift, he didn’t go to beg her for money I suppose. Besides, either his ex sends it to him or not, if he wants to continued with the relationship with her, he will without me even knowing. It is better we share the money on a 60/40 per cent basis and invest in a profitable business. I trust my husband and he would not want to destroy our love because of an ex-lover.

Such gift can’t be given freely – Aremu Olumide

I would ask her to return the money because, he may later request for it back after my wife might have rejected to offer to do anything with him. A guy can’t just give a lady an expensive gift like that, it can’t be free and when the lady collects it and can’t give him what he wants, he would ask for the gift back and I may not be able to help refund such amount of money. So her collecting it is a burden, not a means of solving problems.

I won’t ask my husband to return such blessing – Aromashodun Funmilayo

There is no way I would ask my husband to return such a blessing because he didn’t go crawling to her to beg her for money, I trust him not to do that. She must be buoyant to send him such money in the first place. Although, I know she did it for some reasons best known to her. Even if my husband does not want to cheat on me, he will cheat if he wants to. Only God and prayer can sustain a man from cheating. He will keep the money and get it invested into a business that will benefit us and the kids.
