Apocalypse not now: The Rapture fails to materialise

Christian doomsday prophet Harold Camping looks likely to be less than rapturous after his prediction that the world would end on Saturday failed to materialise.
The 89-year-old Californian preacher had prophesied that the Rapture would begin at 6pm in each of the world's time zones, with those "saved" by Jesus ascending to heaven and the non-believers being wiped out by an earthquake rolling from city to city across the planet.

Why Lotus Fought Luclay.

What transpired after a simple argument concerning the Head of House Task was blown out of proportion
Lotus told the guys how she had forgotten to write the South African currency during the Head of House Task, and kicked herself for missing it, saying she had concentrated more on the European countries and by the time she went through the African countries, she could only write a few.
Luclay took offence, saying she had no respect for her host country.
He continued to go to town about it, insinuating that Lotus had ignored South Africa on purpose because she didn’t know the country uses the Rand.
“You’re disrespecting me now,” Lotus warned; Luclay apologised sarcastically, causing Lotus to cry and they then lashed out at each other, throwing harsh swear words and insults around.
By the time the rest of the Tailsmates caught on to how far the altercation had progressed, it was too late, with Lotus really losing her cool. Lotus and Luclay have already cried twice in the House – who pushed who hardest in this fight?

Leaders Are obstacles To Democracy In Africa - Kufuor

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor on Wednesday laid the blame for political unrest and instability at the doorstep of leaders who subverted their countries' constitutions to extend their stay in office.

'I have witnessed from across Africa, the determination of citizens to exercise their democratic rights. Everywhere people are given the vote, they treasure it. It is not the citizens but their leaders who are too often the obstacle to democracy,' former President Kufuor said.

This was contained in a speech read for him by his Spokesperson, Mr. Frank Agyekum, at the opening of an international conference on 'Elections and Political Stability in West Africa,' at Praia, the capital of the island state of Cape Verde.

The three-day conference opened by Cape Verdean Prime Minister, Jose Maria Neves, is being attended by about 200 delegates drawn from across Africa and organized by the Economic Community of West African States, the African Union and the United Nations.

Former President Kufuor said there was a huge appetite for democracy across Africa but the hopes of the people had often been dashed because 'constitutions have been ignored, elections manipulated and results rigged'.

He said constitutions defined the framework of how states were run, the type of governments that were established, how long leaders had to stay in office, how they were removed, when and how elections were held, among others.

'Elections give legitimacy to a government and its leadership. Elections therefore become sacrosanct and when leaders cut corners to entrench themselves in power, it sets in motion a dangerous precept that leads to conflict and destruction.'

Former President Kufuor said the public had a responsibility to help elections to take place in a fair and stable manner, adding: 'We must use all our influence to persuade political leaders that progress, prosperity and stability will stem from respecting their democratic rights.'

He asked the international community to support the use of electronic voting systems in Africa to help check electoral malpractices adding that the cost of resolving conflicts in a country because of rigged elections is much higher than that invested in acquiring electronic technology.

Mr. Neves praised Ghana's role in entrenching democracy on the continent and described President Kufuor as a 'moral reference for democracy in Africa.'

He said the stability achieved by Cape Verde in the last two decades had been because of tolerance of views of opposing parties and a consensus by all to use the ballot box as the means for changing governments.

General Salou Djibo, the former military head of state of Niger, who supervised that country's transition to democracy, asked for clearly defined rules in the political process and respect for the results of elections to ensure peace and stability.

Mom May Have Sacrificed Her Son in Preparation for the Rapture

On Saturday Maine police found the body of a small, blond, blue eyed boy wrapped in a blanket alongside a remote dirt road in South Berwick, Maine, near the New Hampshire border.
The child seemed to be well nourished and well cared for before he died. But police were puzzled because no one had come forward to report the tyke missing.
The story made the evening news across the country.
A tip was called into the police after a computer-generated image of the boy wearing a t-shirt with the words ‘Aviator Series’, was broadcast nationwide on Monday.
The mystery of the dead blond boy was solved on Wednesday when a state trooper approached a blue pickup truck at a highway rest stop two states away in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. The truck matched the description of a blue truck that was seen in the area where the body was found.
The woman inside the truck had a confession she wanted to get off her chest: “I killed my son. I want to kill myself,” she told the state trooper.
Julianne McCrery, 42, was placed under arrest. She had been sitting in her truck reading a bible when she was arrested.
The boy was identified by various media outlets as Camden Pierce Hughes, age 6, McCrery’s son.
McCrery, of Texas, told police that she had given Camden too much cough medicine. But an autopsy revealed the boy died of asphyxiation (suffocation).
Family and friends in Texas weren’t aware that McCrery had driven to Maine. They thought she was still in Texas. She has no relatives in Maine.
McCrery’s lawyer told the Boston Globe that McCrery “loves her son. He’s dead. He’s in heaven. She wants to be with him.” He added: “She said over and over again I want to go to heaven.”
This led to rampant rumors and speculation that McCrery, a bible thumping religious zealot, sacrificed her son in preparation for the rapture, which is predicted for Saturday, May 21. Friends believe that McCrery was swept up in the mass paranoia surrounding the predicted “end of days”, May 21st — and Camden was an innocent casualty of that hysteria.

Messages from friends left on McCrery’s facebook page and YouTube channel describe a deeply troubled woman who battled mental illness and substance abuse and had tried to kill herself several times.
She once wrote a book titledGoodnight, Sleep Tight: How to Fall Asleep and Go Back To Sleep When You Wake Up’.
McCrery uploaded numerous videos of Camden to her YouTube channel, urgodsproblembaby (you’re God’s problem baby). She was described as a loving mother, but she seemed oddly detached from Camden emotionally.
Under a YouTube video of her son, titled ‘Tuxedo Kid‘, the caption read “blonde boy in tux.”

Although Ameobi has been caped at youth level by England, he is yet to get a full grade-A shirt, which makes him eligible for a run around in the colours of Nigeria and everything points in the direction of a call-up for him in February.
The Top striker has won England under-21 cups, but never played for the senior side, and the report indicates that Siasia has already contacted the 29-year-old with a view to inviting him.

See What Bleaching Can Do To People.

I got this from my Blogger Friend  People in the Limelight and i feel i should share it with you.

Don’t you love Lola maja, Modupe Ozolua, and other celebs with good skin as they catwalk into an award show or an event.

Their skin always looks fabulous and they always look so flawless and beautiful. Don’t get me wrong there are also dark skinned beautiful ladies like Genevieve,Ini Edo, Joke Silva who rocks their beauty anywhere u see them but these days our teens want to be as beautiful as most light skinned celebrity.

Go to a common market place and you will observe that more than fifty percent of women including both young and old have traces of a patchy de-pigmentation on the palm, shoulder, foot and fingers, sunburn both on the neck or cheeks, obviously green and red veins in the arms and legs, prominence of stretch marks on thighs, chest and arms and those that are above forty already look stressed, worn out, and prematurely aged.

In most cases, some women out of ignorance die as a result of liver-damage, kidney failure, mercury poisoning and skin cancer. While others who have realized the consequences at a later age will spend their life savings on the correction of their skin and the continuous use of sunscreen. Why then do we have to use harmful chemical substance toxic properties on our skin just to boost self-esteem all in the name of bleaching?

The purpose of skin bleaching is to make the skin whiter by reducing the production of melanin in the skin. Melanin is the reason why Africans are called ‘dark’, ‘brown’, ‘black’, or ‘ebony’ because it determines how dark a person is. It also protects from the ultra-violet rays of the sun which is very harmful to the health. That’s why you see a white man trying to protect himself from the sun by using sunscreen or staying away from the sun; because they have lesser production of melanin in their skin as compared to blacks.

Hydroquoine, mercury, arsenic, alpha-hydroxyl acids are all harmful elements found in bleaching products. Mercury, a very toxic substance is found in the production of hair dyes, manufacture of rubber, and photo-processing. All these are used on the skin just to make you beautiful and boost self esteem. Majority of women including younger ladies and also few men use bleaching cream. There are cases of mothers using it on their toddlers to make them look attractive and beautiful to carry by every Tom, Dick and Harry.

The use of these elements makes the skin loose its elasticity and firmness to heal quickly when an accident or cut occurs. As African, we have to know that there is no hope of getting rid of melanin permanently. NAFDAC only permits 2% of Hydroquoine in any whitening imported beauty products.

There are also locally made beauty soaps like d 'ose aganyin' who mix different mixtures of products which includes hair shampoo, MF3, Dope. Several 'made in china' get fair fast action in a week or three days can be found in most markets with pictures of white or asian ladies and adverts that you will look similar to the pictures in a couple of days or weeks.

Government agencies controlling the importation of these products should ensure that this country should not be a dumping ground for toxic and harmful chemical products on human lives. There should be a method of public awareness to women of a certain age group on the implication of using toxic products harmful to their health.

A smart skin care no matter your skin tone and texture of your body should include cleansing, moisturising and maintaining a healthy lifestyle especially a healthy balanced diet. Occasional tonining of the skin is necessary for fair skinned ladies who are exposed to the sun while it is not necessary for dark or chocolate skin ladies.

Being black is beautiful cos it symbolizes being 'endowed, blessed and tough'. Our dark skin can adapt to any weather no matter how harsh, hot or cold. Don't use harmful chemicals to look good and indirectly poison your body. You are beautiful, so be proud of who you are and your heritage.

Jonathan And Museveni , who is telling the truth?

In an article, “Ugandan president apologizes for stoning of Nigerian president's car on inauguration day”, appeared in The Washington Post of May 17, Uganda's President reaffirm, the Nigerian presidential convoy was stoned, but the Nigerian government had earlier denied reports that President Goodluck Jonathan convoy was stoned at on its way to Entebbe International Airport.

The paper quotes President Yoweri Museveni apologizing for what he termed “hooliganism and irresponsibility” attack by supporters of an opposition leader to the leaders who attended his inauguration. The Washington Post, quotes Museveni mentioning out both the convoy of Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan and DR Congo's President Joseph Kabila.

The Washington Post report also quotes the Ugandan leader warning the local and international media that will be treated as such. Museveni is quoted as saying that: “The media houses both local and international such as Al-Jazeera, BBC, NTV, The Daily Monitor...that cheer on these irresponsible people are enemies of Uganda's recovery and they will have to be treated as such.”

The alleged report was first denied by President Jonathan's Spokesman, Ima Niboro, who was quoted by the Nigerian newspaper, Daily Trust, this suggests that there was no such attack on the Nigerian presidential fleet.

“There was no attack on the president [Jonathan] in Uganda,” the newspaper quoted, the spokesman. Mr. Niboro added: “We only passed by opposition elements whose leader returned to Uganda today, during a peaceful procession on our way to the airport.”

The reaction followed a comment made by the Executive Director of the Uganda government's media centre, Fred Opolot. The media executive director in Uganda, Mr Opolot had said that: “The car belonging to Goodluck Jonathan was stoned by mobs. The security shot around the area, and one person was shot dead.”

“Unfortunately, a (motorcyclist) who was crossing (near) the president's car was shot dead. The security forces mostly used rubber bullets. But he really posed a threat to a foreign dignitary who happened to be a head of state,” Mr. Opolot said in a statement that the Ugandan opposition termed; government's propaganda.

The oppositions say that Mr. Opolot was just defending and justifying the Ugandan police's brutality that fired into unarmed crowd of its supporters who were welcoming Dr. Kiiza Besigye back in the country in which one person was reported killed on spot, although others sources put the number killed to five.

The Nigerian leader Goodluck was among the heads of states that turned-up for the inauguration of President Yoweri Museveni, in Kampala.

Woman arrested for 16 hour phone call.

A US woman has been arrested for speaking loudly on her mobile phone for 16 hours while travelling in a train's quiet carriage.

Lakeysha Beard, 39, repeatedly ignored requests to be quiet during the journey between Oakland, California, and Portland, Oregon, according to other passengers.

Train staff eventually asked her to stop using her phone which reportedly led to a "verbal altercation" and police being called.

The train was called to a halt at a crossing just outside Salem, Oregon, where police boarded to remove Ms Beard. She has now been charged with disorderly conduct.

Speaking after the incident to Portland's KATU News, Ms Beard said she felt "disrespected" by the incident.

She admitted to talking on her phone, but saw no reason why she should have been escorted from the train.

Banned Ghanaian Actress ‘Yvonne Nelson’ Launches Lace Wig Hair Collection & Unleashes Promo Pics

Banned Ghanian Actress Yvonne Nelson isn’t letting her ban slow her down…the enterprising young lady is chasing mogul status by launching her very own Lace Wig (Hair) Line.
Hmmm…Lace Wigs are a mess. Except you have a hair stylist on standby 24/7 they never look cute! 9 times out of 10 when I’ve seen them on regular females it looks MAD obvious they’ve got hair glued to their hairline.
On the promo poster for Yvonne’s hairline it says the hair is 100% human hair…translation some righteous souls in India have shaved off all their hair and donated them to temple or worse gotten kidnapped & had the hair off their heads stolen!
In addition to the hair venture Yvonne has also released a new set of promotional images. Her ban is over sometime this year so I’m guessing she’s readying herself to return to the career that made her a household name in Ghana with a bang.

I think Yvonne is a hot chick and she looks super fab in these photos.

Arnold Schwarzenegger: ‘I fathered a love child with my maid’

Arnold and his daughter Christina.
By now many of you know about former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s separation from his wife of 25 years, Maria Shriver (of the Kennedy dynasty). You didn’t bat an eye when you read that he’d cheated on his wife by the 3rd year into their marriage.
In the days before Shriver, 55, and Schwarzenegger, 63, announced their separation, he admitted to her that he’d fathered a love child with a former household staff member — about 10 years ago.
Schwarzenegger, who sired four children with Shriver, released this statement to the media yesterday:
Well, at least he’s honest.

HAVING KIDS IS NOT IMPORTANT TO ME NOW ;EX BEAUTY QUEEN NIKE OSHINOWO

Ex beauty queen, Nike Oshinowo Soleye seems to be unruffled in spite of the many controversies that has trailed her in the past. When she was crowned the most beautiful girl in Nigeria 18years ago, not many thought she would go far in the beauty industry. And with the running of the premier spa, a range of beauty products and her celebrity fitness DVD, she hopes to truly conquer the beauty industry.

That she has an uncommon taste for eye-popping fashion is not the thrust of this matter on ground.

Recently in an interview, she reveals that having Kids is not so important to her now, despite the fact that she’s 44 this year. She further disclosed that she never had the plans of getting married at all but her caring husband Dr Sholeye changed her mind.

Beware there's a Shady group charging N100m for ministerial appointment

Lead Image
A group of people who claim to have access to the presidency has been going round choice spots in Abuja saying they could make anyone minister for N100 million. Already, the group has made contact with a number of people who have been told to submit their credentials with assigned individuals, who act as middle-men.

A woman who runs a highbrow eatery in the city, speaking on condition of anonymity, said she has been contracted to reach out to people with that kind of money, who at least have secondary school certificates and are not less than forty years old.

She said the whole matter is ‘hush-hush,' so she only approaches clients she could trust.
The middle-aged woman also said any client she introduced to the group would have to sit with her and sign a written agreement spelling out what he or she would do for her once the person becomes a minister.
A source who has been contacted by this woman said he was told that the N100 million must be given to the group up-front.

"She said as proof of their connections, I would be taken to Aso Rock where I would meet some of the president's men and satisfy myself that the whole thing is legitimate," he said
The man, who hails from Kano State, said "what makes her credible for me is that she won't take any money for arranging the appointment until everything works out. Besides, the fact is that I know the kind of circles she moves in."

A senior aide to the president was recently peeved when told by a retired Naval officer eager for ministerial appointment, that he was told to bring N500,000 before he could be introduced (to the aide.)
Our correspondent, who was with him at the villa during the discussion, said the aide told the officer to call back after the president returns from his Ugandan trip, but also requested for the name of the fellow who had asked for the bribe so that the person could be sanctioned.
"That is how it will spread that we now collect money to book appointments with the President," he said
