Lady GaGa Opens Up About Chronic Pain, Reveals Her Struggle In Emotional Message To Fans

The Joanne superstar took to Instagram on Friday and opened up about some of her physical struggles with chronic pain, revealing two different posts that showed herself to her fans and, judging by the comments, found her quite a few people who could relate!

It started with a post back on Thursday that revealed the singer was struggling with chronic pain, and she shared a short message that little did she know found a lot of receptive ears in others' suffering (below):

Having a frustrating day with chronic pain, but I find myself feeling so blessed to have such strong intelligent female doctors. I think about Joanne too and her strength and the day gets a little easier. Plus I got @wanaynay by my side. "Hey Girl, we can make it easy if we lift each other." 🌸A photo posted by #VoteHillary (@ladygaga) on Nov 17, 2016 at 1:49pm PST

Awww!

That alone is a sweet and important post, but it wasn't necessarily a major story until GaGa came back to IG on Friday evening and followed up that post with a deeper look at her issues with chronic pain.

It started by sharing the photo you can see at the top of the post here (above), with a long, heartfelt message about how she copes (below):

"I was so overwhelmed by the empathy, confessions & personal stories of chronic pain in response to my previous post I thought what the hell. Maybe I should just share some of my personal remedies I've acquired over the past five years. Everyone's body and condition is different U should consult w ure Dr. but what the heck here we go!

When my body goes into a spasm one thing I find really helps is infrared sauna. I've invested in one. They come in a large box form as well as a low coffin-like form and even some like electric blankets! You can also look around your community for a infrared sauna parlor or homeopathic center that has one.
I combine this treatment with marley silver emergency blankets (seen in the photo) that trap in the heat and are very cheap, reusable and effective for detox as well as weight loss!

In order to not overheat my system and cause more inflammation i follow this with either a VERY cold bath, ice bath (if u can stand it, it's worth it) or the most environmentally savvy way is to keep many reusable cold packs in the freezer ( or frozen peas' n carrots'!) and pack them around the body in all areas of pain.

Hope this helps some of you, it helps me to keep doing my passion, job and the things I love even on days when I feel like I can't get out of bed. Love you and thank you for all your positive messages."

Powerful stuff!

Good for GaGa for really opening up about something like this!!

Grace Omogui, 82-year-old mother of ex-FIRS boss, Ifueko Okauru, shot dead

Grace Onaiwu Omogui, the mother of a former Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Ifueko Okauru, has died, her family announced Saturday. She was 82.

Mrs. Omogui, teacher, lawyer and judge, passed on at a Lagos hospital Saturday following complications from multiple gunshot injuries from an armed robbery attack in Benin City, the Edo State capital, on her way from the Sapele Road branch of the Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB).

According to a statement by her eldest son, Nowamagbe, Mrs Omoigui was born on December 28, 1933 and her life spanned several professional careers, starting as an educationist and former Vice Principal of Federal Government Girls College (FGGC), Benin City, and later becoming a lawyer, retiring as a magistrate in the Lagos State Judiciary.

“Mama G, as she loved to be called, fought a gallant fight to live but the Lord decided that her time on this earth was done,” the statement said.

“She leaves behind a legacy of love to one’s neighbour regardless of cost and personal sacrifice. Even in the face of unprovoked attack, she did what she does best: rightly questioned the indefensible actions of the armed robbers as she felt it was wrong.

“Mum lived a transparent life through and through. She was the pillar behind the family and would do anything to preserve its good name and defend integrity.

“She positively touched many lives at home and at work and we believe her legacy of sacrifice, loyalty, hard work, fairness, love, integrity, the importance of family and God’s love will live on through everybody she touched.

“She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Surveyor Daniel Aiyanyo Omoigui, her children – Dr Nowamagbe and Moira Omoigui; Dr Sota and Helen Omoigui; Ifueko M Omoigui and Asishana Okauru; Eghosa and Eunice Omoigui; and Nosakhare Omoigui; and grand children, Ikponmwosa Omoigui, Ighiwiyisi Omoigui, Ayrton Omoigui, Iyegbekosa Omoigui, Izevbokun Omoigui, Grace Omoigui, Isiuwa Omoigui, Iyare Omoigui, Noe Ter Avest Omoigui, Iriagbonse Omoigui, Anni-Arie Omoigui, and Nete Okauru.

“We are heartbroken by this untimely loss but comforted by the understanding that this is the Lord’s way and our mum is resting peacefully in His bosom.”

Below is a profile of Mrs. Omogui as sent to PREMIUM TIMES by her family.

‘We have different cultures’ – Usain Bolt says after being called a womaniser

Usain Bolt has come out to state that the press are always trying to make him out as a womaniser and has put it down to a difference in culture.

The nine-time Olympic gold medallist said, ‘You can’t judge a different culture by your own culture. In England, when you get famous the first thing you do is get married and have kids.

‘In Jamaica it’s different — like my parents had me; and they got married 11 years later,’ Bolt told GQ.

Bolt was spotted with a couple of women, including Jady Duarte, in Brazil as the Rio 2016 Olympics drew to a conclusion earlier this summer, before being spotted in the UK soon after with a number of women heading to a hotel.

Despite all, the Jamaican star still got engaged to his long-time partner, Kasi Bennett and if that leaves you a bit confused, let Bolt help clear that up.

‘In Jamaica, we wine on each other. It’s our culture. People see it the first time; they’re like, what is going on? It’s like they’re having sex in the club! No, that’s just the culture. It’s how we are,’ Bolt explained.

Who wants to be Jamaican?

Dear Women:To Package Your Boobs Well,Here Are Tips On How To Pick A Bra

They hold up the breasts and can make or mar your entire appearance. It is important to select the right bra and a perfect fit for your breasts. Here are some great tips to help you out next time you go bra shopping.

1. Make sure the cups are smooth and they lie flat against your chest
If the cups are wrinkly, the bra is probably too big for you. If you find out that your breasts are spilling out, then you need a bigger bra.

2. Make sure the band of the bra lies straight against your back
The band of your bra should lie horizontally against your back in a straight line. If the band of your bra rides up, then it is not your size.

3. Make sure the straps are not too tight
The band provides support and not the straps. If you’re relying on the shoulder straps to keep your breasts lifted, you may need a smaller band size.

4. The underwire should not dig into your skin
If the underwire of your bra causes you pain in any way, then you need to find a larger size.

5. There must be no boob bulge
If your breasts spill out of your bra, it means that you need a bigger bra.

6. The area between the two cups must lie flat against your chest
If the area between the two cups is floating, then the bra is definitely not your size.

Prison officials allegedly beat 6 inmates to death in Kwara prison

Prison officials in the Oke Kura Prison, Ilorin, Kwara State reportedly beat six inmates to death on Thursday.

According to reports, the incident happened around 2pm when inmates, who were in the condemned inmates’ cell, protested the substandard quality of food they were served. A prison source who spoke anonymously said, “The demand for improvement in food quality and quantity had been on for the past two months, but nothing was done.

“On Thursday, the inmates decided to protest. That was how the warders went and got the arms squad. They entered into the prison and unleashed terror on the inmates, who were in the condemned cell.

“Five of them died there and one of the 12 casualties died at the hospital. The incident has caused tension in the prison as I speak with you.”

However, the Public Relations Officer of the Ilorin Prison who identified himself simply as Philip, denied the incident.

MMM-Nigeria donates relief materials worth N5 million to IDPs in Abuja

M-Nigeria’, a community of mutual financial aid and donations, on Saturday donated relief materials worth N5 million to two Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in the Federal Capital Territory.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the gesture was part of the community’s humanitarian week tagged ‘MMM cares’ to mark its one year anniversary.

The Gwoza and Bama IDP Camp located in Durumi area and the New Kuchingoro IDP camp were the two beneficiaries of the relief materials. Bags of rice, beans, garri, as well as cartoons of beverages and noodles, were some of the items donated by the group. The group also donated clothing, drugs, and educational materials for the pupils among them.

Mr Seyi Bello, a Guilder in the ‘MMM Community’ said the donation was motivated by the desire of the group to affect the society positively, especially the less-privileged. “We are marking our first year anniversary and we have decided to come and celebrate it with our brothers, mothers and children in the camp. “As a community, we do not only provide help to our members, we also extend that to the larger society as part of our social responsibility.

“In these times of economic challenges, the IDPs are the ones that need help and support more than any other person; that is why we visited them today,” he said. Bello explained that besides providing help and donations to its members, humanitarian service was a flagship programme of the group. He said that the relief items were bought from free-will donations of members in their quest to touch lives positively.

He said: “The N5 million was raised from voluntary donations my members in the FCT. “That is what defines us as a community of people providing financial help to each other on the principle of reciprocity and benevolence. “In MMM there are no lenders and no debtors. One participant asks for help, another one helps.’’

Bello appealed to individuals, groups and corporate bodies to always remember the IDPs across Nigeria, since government alone would not be able to provide for them adequately. “They are our brothers and sisters who have left the comfort of their homes and are now struggling for survival here.

“No matter how little, let us always extend a hand of help to them to complement what government and other donors are doing, “he urged. Mr Enoch Yohanna, General Secretary of the IDP camp at New Kuchingoro, who received the items, expressed gratitude for the gesture which he described as `timely.’

“The Christmas season is very close; we thank MMM-Nigeria for bringing these items to us. “We hope to share them satisfactorily among us for everybody to be happy and have a happy Christmas celebration, “he said. NAN reports that the visit to the IDPs camps was preceded by a two-hour environmental sanitation by members of the group on Nyanya/Mararaba route, a suburb of the FCT. Members of the group came out in their numbers to clear garbage from drainages and streets in the area.

Nigeria Immigration Service explains why Nigerian passport is scarce

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Muhammad Babandede, has explained why there is scarcity of the Nigerian passport, blaming it on contracts for the production of the booklets which were awarded by the previous government when the exchange rate was not as high as it currently is.

Speaking with journalists in Abuja on Saturday, he stated that while the price of the Nigerian passport has not changed, the cost of bringing in the component has changed owing to the increase in the dollar exchange rate. He pointed out that the Service has made proposals to the government.

Babandede, who pointed out that a hike in price is not the only way to address the scarcity, noted however, that it is not sustainable for the price of the Nigerian passport to remain the same despite of the high cost of production.

Speaking on the efforts made by the Service to increase government revenue, he stated that as at the end of last month, the NIS had generated more revenue than what was realized for the government via Immigrations in 2015. The CGI stated that while $29,747,900 (N25,872,320,787.83) was generated in 2015, $32,733,810 (N29,236,679,810.91) has been realized as at the end of October 2016.

He added that the Service can increase the revenue by 25 percent in 2017 if government goes ahead to consider some issues it raised in the budget.

Trump's VP, Mike Pence booed at musical concert

Mike Pence was greeted by boos at a performance of the Hamilton musical in New York on Friday night, with the show interrupted throughout by jeers for the vice-president-elect.

At the end of the Broadway show, the cast addressed the Republican from the stage and delivered a message to the incoming administration of Donald Trump.

“We are the diverse America, who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights," said actor Brandon Victor Dixon, who plays Aaron Burr, the nation's third vice president.

Mr Pence moved to leave before Dixon finished the unprecedented message. But a show spokesman said he stood in the hallway outside the entrance to the auditorium and heard the full remarks.

The vice president-elect had endured jeers and boos - and just a smattering of cheers - from the moment he had entered the theatre.

At one point the actors had to pause during a song while audience members jeered the Republican governor. One theatre-goer also reported there was extended applause during the play at the line: "Immigrants, we get the job done'".

Mr Trump, whose victory in last Tuesday's election triggered protests across the US, sparked concern during the campaign with a series of controversial pledges as part of a crackdown on immigration.

The reaction of the audience towards Mr Pence divided social media users.

"Pence getting booed at Hamilton bums me out. Whatever you think of him. He’s trying to engage. Could get ideas from far worse places," New York Times reporter Dave Itzkoff wrote on Twitter.

Many others said he deserved the treatment because of his stance on issues such as gay rights. John Aravosis, an LGBT advocate, tweeted: "You know what's worse than getting booed? Every single thing Mike Pence stands for."

Mr Pence has faced fierce criticism for his position on gay rights. As Indiana governor, he signed the Religious Freedom Restoration Act into law in 2015.

Advocates said it would expand “religious liberty” by allowing business owners to push back when government policy was in conflict with their beliefs. But opponents said the law was discriminatory against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals.

Hamilton, which has won 11 Tony awards, has proved to be an unlikely Broadway smash about the life and times of Alexander Hamilton, the first United States Secretary of the Treasury and one of America’s “founding fathers”, as re-enacted by a non-Caucasian cast, using rap and hip-hop to tell his story.

Woman uses stolen car to sow seed to pastor in Lagos

A 44-year old housewife, Mary Onu and her daughter, Alice, were Friday arraigned before a Magistrate’s court sitting in Isolo, Lagos State for allegedly stealing a Nissan Infiniti SUV, belonging to a car dealer.

Onu reportedly used the stolen car to sow a seed offering to her church prophet, Solomon Orimisan of the Celestial Church of Christ located at Gabriel Bell close, Bamishile Estate in Idimu area of the state.

Onu, who was a member of the church reportedly went to the prophet and told him that she wanted to appreciate him for his assistance and prayer to her and her family which had benefited them, adding that she wanted to sow a seed offering with the Infiniti model QX56 worth N2m.

The Delta State-born, however, asked him to pay only N500, 000 as a token and Orimisan agreed and paid the money into her account.

The prosecutor, Mr A.U. Ojei told the court that Onu drove the SUV to the church with the owner, who is a car dealer and introduced him as her driver.

When they went into the church to discuss, the owner of the SUV was unaware what was going on and after Orimisan paid the money, she left both of them inside the church premises and absconded.

The prophet reportedly asked the car dealer to leave, notifying him that he had settled with Onu.

The shocked car owner subsequently explained what transpired between him and Mary before the vehicle was brought to the church.

At that point, the prophet realized that Mary had scammed him and he reported to the Idimu police command who trailed Mary and her daughter for several weeks and later arrested them in their hideout.

While her mother was arrested for stealing the car, Alice was arrested on the grounds that she signed the agreement and handed over the Jeep to Prophet Orimisan after she obtained a token sum of N500, 000 in exchange for the vehicle.

Onu reportedly confessed to the crime at the police station but claimed she had already spent the money to solve her personal problem.

The duo charged with conspiracy, obtaining under false pretence and stealing under the Criminal Code, however, pleaded not guilty before the presiding Magistrate, Mrs A.K. Shonubi.

Shonubi granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum, ordering that they be remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition.
She adjourned till November 24 for trial.

Atiku counters Buhari, says Boko Haram still deadly, insurgency far from over

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, on Saturday countered claims by the Nigerian government that the terrorist Boko Haram group has been defeated.

Speaking in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, at the 11th Founder’s Day Ceremony of the American University of Nigeria (AUN), the former vice president said Boko Haram remained deadly, and that it was premature to declare that the insurgency was over.

“The insurgents still occupy a specific geographical space,” Atiku said. “They (Boko Haram) still retain the capacity for occasional deadly attacks. Many citizens in the zone still remain vulnerable and live in fear.”

The former vice president’s comments appeared to counter repeated claims by President Muhammadu Buhari and his information minister, Lai Mohammed, that Boko Haram had been defeated, and was no longer holding any territory in the country.

In his 2016 Independence Day speech, October 1, Mr. Buhari insisted the sect was defeated in December 2015 even as the group continued its onslaught across the Northeast, launching deadly attacks and killing soldiers and civilians.

But in his Saturday speech, which was emailed to newsmen, Atiku said it was premature for anyone to claim victory over Boko Haram at this time.

Like Mr. Buhari, Atiku belongs to the ruling All Progressives Congress, a shaky political platform, whose leading members have bickered consistently since it came to power in mid 2015.

“We cannot say that the problem is over until every displaced person is able to return home, to the office, to the market, to the farm, and resume normal activities,” the politician said.

“We cannot say it is over until we rebuild the schools, the churches, the hospitals, the markets, and the homes that had been destroyed. And we cannot say it’s over until the survivors of this insurgency receive the help they need, including psychological therapy to deal with the trauma that they have been through.

“I visited an IDP camp on Saturday and had the privilege of teaching a math class to some children. But the site of hundreds of children running around and unable to attend school was very gut wrenching. It still breaks my heart.

So we cannot say the insurgency is over until all the displaced children return to their schools.

“And, as I indicated last year, it would not be enough for people to simply return to their pre-insurgency lives. We must do better than that otherwise we would only have papered over the wound without really treating it.

“People must return to something better, to hope, to improved schools, to improved economic opportunities, to freedom of worship and improved inter-religious harmony.”

Sports minister Simon Dalung says Nigeria does not need to attend the world cup

Sports minister, Simon Dalung made a surprising assertion that Nigeria does not need to attend the World Cup because the game is riddled with corruption and we can never win it. Speaking to Voice of America, Hausa Service, he said:

“The cup that we can win is the African Cup of Nations. There is nothing again that will take us to another man’s balcony in the name of the World Cup. We already have the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics.

For these, we can attend such meets. But I am opposed to the World Cup. We don’t agree to it. Conspiracy in the World Cup is too much.

“There is the issue of bribery and favouritism. There is also the issue of corruption before you are even given the hosting rights. We are here suffering from hunger and we don’t have money for such things. That is why, even if we try many times, once it gets into the politics of the game, we can never win.

“That was why this year, we had to tackle him (FIFA President, Ginani Infantino) and we said, ‘you , Infantino, if you win this election, you have to give us a position. If not, we shall not agree.’ And you see , by the grace of God, he even picked an African as his Secretary-General.  That means he has started taking honey and rubbing on our lips. That means that one day, we shall get to really lick the honey.”

Recession: Journalists worst hit, says NUJ

The Nigeria Union of Journalists has decried the current hardship faced by most journalists due to the prevailing and ongoing economic recession in the country.

Mr Rex Arum, Chairman of NUJ, Enugu State Council, who spoke in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Enugu on Saturday, attributed it to weak financial standing of most journalists.

Arum noted that journalists in the country were the worst hit in the prevailing and ongoing hardship due to ‘their weak financial earnings and standing’.

“This hard time is easily seen and felt among our members all over the country.

“Some, such as freelancers and stringers are not paid; while the commission that is due to them if at all, is not even coming any longer.

“Most of our members on paid employment are owed several months of salaries.

“While media establishments and organisations pay journalists a paltry wage as salary to go home with, after months of waiting for the same salary.

“It is disheartening that in this age of technology and information; a journalist working in hazardous and unfriendly environment go home with paltry salary,’’ he said.

Arum, however, urged the Nigerian Press Council and other journalism-related bodies as well as media organisations to review the current salary, wages and commission to reflect the present realities.

The NUJ chairman lauded Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State for the present media-government harmony that exists in the state.

“Enugu State has continued to be a shining example, where the media and government parley for the development and betterment of the state and its residents,’’ he said.

Recession: Traders decry low patronage ahead of Christmas

As Yuletide season approaches, well packaged hampers ought to be exchanging hands by now but the traders have attributed the low patronage to economic recession.

A cross section of Lagosians told the News Agency of Nigeria in separate interviews on Saturday, that they were not giving out hampers this year.

Mrs Bose Adeleye, a trader who packages hampers for sale at the Apongbon market in Lagos, told NAN that nobody had come to ask her to put together any hamper.

“Last year was better. We did not sell much but people were coming, little by little, to demand for little baskets and not so big ones.

“This year is terrible; I have not sold any hamper, you can see empty baskets waiting to be filled.

“We do it when people order for it,’’ she said.

Another trader, Mrs Iyabo Ajayi, who owns `Mama Olawale Stores’ at Balogun market, said that people were shying away because of paucity of funds in the country.

“Corporate bodies and individuals ought to be ordering for hampers by now, but we have not seen any.

“I even sent out proposals and reduced the prices but they have not answered me.

“It is really tough,’’ she told NAN.

Mrs Christy Oleka, a corporate gift shop owner at Idumota, Lagos, told NAN that hampers was “a no go area’’ this year because it would be exorbitant for people.

“It has become an essential commodity because things have gone up.

“For a well-packaged hamper; you are talking of about N20,000 and above.

“Some people will calculate that money and buy some other gifts and distribute.

“Corporate people like giving something substantial to their customers or they will leave out,’’ she said.

Oleka said that sellers were losing out because this is the period they expect to make huge profit from hampers.

“You can see that we are sitting down doing nothing and watching people wandering in the market,’’ she said.

Also a Civil Servant, Mr Tony Udeh, said that by now hampers would have been arriving from all corners but “we have not seen any’’.

“We have not received any in our office; even our Managing Director’s office is dry from the provision basket.

“The economic recession is biting harder on people,’’ Udeh said.

Mr Emmanuel Bassey, an artisan, told NAN that he was interested in how to buy rice and other food stuffs this yuletide for his family, “not hampers’’.

“Anyway, if anybody happens to give me, I will take but I have not seen any of it these days,’’ Bassey said.

He recalled that in the past “you must have seen people carrying hampers into homes’’.

Nigerian OAP uses tricycle for his wedding

According to one Ijeoma Uba, who wrote about the event, "He's handsome. He's polished. His middle name is Suave. On radio, he's your fantasy. He decided to take a wife. A young, pretty, God-fearing wife. Onyinye appeared from Imo State and begged not to be entreated to leave him. Austine Okorodudu the toastmaster.

November 12th, 2016. The day for his people to become Onyi's people. He already shared God with her. We all waited. Like the toastmaster he is, never believing in strict societal stereotypes, Austine decided to ride on a tricycle (kekenapep) to Redeemed Christian Church of God Unity Parish, Asaba where he would be joined with his soul mate. .

His missing rib is to be fixed back and he needed all the fresh air in the world. Austine and his best man Prince Richards dazzled the congregation when they both cruised to the church premises with little Groom Dumebi;  Keke-Oxygen abi! That wasn't the icing. .

Joined as one, Austine with his better half, set the major roads of Asaba,  Delta State capital agog when he shunned all the exotic cars in his convoy again. He took his beautiful Onyinye home in keke-napep. He had at least ten SUVs that could have taken them home but he preferred them riding behind. .

People took photographs of the couple as they rode the streets. Tricyclists voluntary joined in the convoy in wild excitement to show solidarity. What informed this showbiz guy's decision? "Your Radio Fantasy" as he's fondly called by his audience, said he wanted something out of the ordinary. .
.
He was tired of seeing people ride in posh cars on their wedding days. In fact, he actually wanted to take his bride to church on a horse but for the strict rules of the Church, prohibiting such and the fact that he couldn't still get one for their journey back home. .
.
Sweet sight it was to behold as the newest couple rode through the streets entertaining people with their beautiful sights on their special day. Austine is indeed your fantasy! Will Onyinye join? Yes, she's already nursing people back to good health. Happy married life to the sweet couple."

EFCC secures the conviction of serial hacker

Chidi Onouha, a 25-year-old serial hacker, who was dragged by the commission before a Gombe State High Court, was convicted on Thursday by Justice Beatrica Iliya, on a two-count of advance fee fraud. .

The accused was arrested following a petition by one Joseph Goje on June 1. Goje, who was studying in the U.K, had alleged that the convict in connivance with one Chinedu, who is currently at large, hacked into his GTBank account and withdrew N1.5m.

The fraudsters succeeded in gaining access into Goje’s internet banking accessories, including his token device, email account and mobile number and blocked his access. Onouha was arrested and charged to court and he pleaded guilty.

Abubakar Bormi, counsel to the defendant, however, pleaded for clemency on the ground that Onouha showed remorse and had refunded the money. In consideration of the plea, the judge commuted the sentence to N100, 000 fine on each of the two counts and ordered him to be remanded in prison custody till he paid the fine.
